I'm the furthest thing from an arsenal fan, but that weak foot volley he scored in Europe all those years ago was quite possibly the cleanest strike I've ever seen. The technique, connection & distance of it in my opinion makes it one of the all time great goals. No football fan can watch it and not get the fizz
Aaron Ramsey was one of the best box to box midfielderd of 2010s . Absolute clutch player . If it wasn't for that shawcross horror challenge. He would've reached even farther heights
As an Arsenal fan, I will always remember that great 2013/14 season that Rambo had with us. Was sad for him when he had that horrific leg break at Stoke. However, when he was fit, he seemed to have duracell in his veins, as he never run out of energy on the pitch. And I will never forget his legendary goals that won us two FA cups and lifted the club out of a barren period of silverware. Great player and a cool, humble guy.
The 13/14 season as a Liverpool fan is very memorable for obviouse reasons but one thing I also remeber is how ridiculous Ramsay was before he got injured. He was one if the best playera in the league for a short while. He was that good.
I think Steven Gerrard a year or two later called him the best player or best midfielder in the league. He really was special. Just constant injuries interrupted his form.
Aaron ramsey is the biggest Arsenal emirates era legend so far. Clutch moments, great player, most trophies, winning goals in finals and most importantly a loyal one amongst the snakes. Him and theo walcott and ozil are the top 3 emirates era legends so far
It is insane he was one of the most b2b Midfielders despite having a metal rod in the leg . He would've had even greater career, had it not been fir shawcross' horrific injury
Biggest Arsenal legend of the last 10 or so years and he did it with massive injury problems Arsenal fans will never forget his FA Cup winning heroics and the countless great moments he was a part of. Who could forget that Galatasaray goal or those seasons where Steven Gerrard was calling Ramsey the best attacking midfielder in the league
Underrated player but another one who was plagued with a lot of injuries which meant he couldn’t quite find the level of consistency we would have loved to see. Will always love him though for the 2 FA Cup final winners, especially the one against Hull which ended the trophy drought. Such an emotional day!
Rights issues with overseas providers means including footage would force them to make the video unavailable to everyone outside of the UK (although I think that's already the case for some countries even with blurring)
Very smart move going back to Cardiff, when he retires he will become there new manager and starting at a club he knows well it would be a great opportunity for him
Emery would've won the europa league final and got into top 4 with ramsey .had he not gotten injured. Emery said that as well. That is how important he was and whi knows what would've happened after that
Ramsey had one of the greatest seasons by a number 8 in premier league . Had he been injury free for few more months , arsenal would've won the league in 13/14
Fàbregas's 2009/10 season is one of the most impressive seasons individually by any player in the Premier League era but unfortunately goes under the radar of the general footballing public because of the fact that ultimately, Arsenal didn't win anything & that he spent a substantial period of that season nursing injuries. Fabregas was truly immense for us that season. He registered 15 goals & 13 assists over 2192 total minutes played, which equates to 24.35 games during that league campaign. He literally averaged a goal or an assist every 78 minutes in the Prem. He would have been well on his way to hitting 20 goals/20 assists & becoming only the second player to do so in Prem history after Henry had he stayed injury free. He was only 22 years old as well throughout the entirety of that season while serving as club captain. The hype around this guy would be off the scale if he was coming through in today's game. A prodigy in the truest sense of the word. His injury that ruled him out for the run in absolutey killed us that season. We were only 3 points off of the top with 5 games to go or something like that until we lost 3 of our last 5 games to well & truly extinguish any title hopes. He surely would have been a shoe in for all of the Player of the Season awards domestically had he stayed fit. Missed him big time.
crazy enough Arsenal still today have never replaced Ramsey, he is the last proper number 8 we had. (Declan Rice will long term be 6, he was world class there last year).
One of the major reason why Emery can’t go too far in Arsenal because he lets Aaron cried then the team lose the spine and lose the faith from fans. Even Arteta did so well but I believe if Aaron stayed with Xhaka, Arteta will have a better start after he got the FA cup final. A silent leader stand out by behaviour. We miss you Aaron. 🔴⚪️
Let's not forget that Arsenal lost Gabriel and Timber (two more starting XI players) early on in the second half to cramping/injuries. Many of the subs made were FORCED rather than tactical strengthening, compared to Liverpool who could bring on Szobozlai who was immense. In total you have ~5 starting XI players not around to 'kill' and/or secure the game (Saliba, Odegaard, Califiori, then Gabriel + Timber in 2nd half). Liverpool missed Jota and Alisson and were afforded actual tactical subs.
We absolutely wanted to re sign him… his agent got caught shopping him around Europe for a better contract when a new deal was already offered months before….… That’s why it went quiet from our side
No he wasn’t, he had injury problems but he kept playing well every time he came back from the injuries The news at the time of Emery’s appointment was that his big plan for coming to Arsenal heavily involved keeping Ramsey and having him be the main man, so he was still very highly rated at that time.
He was normal, everyone feels nerves, familiarises, improves across time - even you. What d'ya want chirpy, jokey, and few card tricks you butlins mug.
