Arne Slot has been a trainer at Feyenoord for 3 years. These were the best 3 years of the past 50 years at Feyenoord. I miss him enormously. How well he allowed Feyenoord to play football. With much less budget than Ajax and PSV. I will never forget him. Now he is a trainer at the most beautiful club in England. Liverpool. I’m so glad we got a true great dutch manager because with football when the dutch get it right they get it fantastic. Wether that is of players or managers, I’ve always loved how dutch players play the game with working on the fudementals first and for-most and then elevate their game from there, producing world class talent in the midfield, players Like Edgar Davids,Seedorf, Van Bommel,Rijkaard,Guillet and ofc Cryuff. I wish Liverpool journalists would ask questions like the ones in this video. But nope all they want to ask about is Klopp and contract situations every week
Sander was in goal away to Everton in April 2001 as Gary Macallister scored a 40yard free kick winner in the 94th minute to make it 3-2 to Liverpool having been down to 10 men. He must of had the best view in the house of that stunning piece of skill. The joy on Houlliers face is special. Think even my heart skipped a beat when that went in. Total euphoria with what that goal meant for the season.
I am happy alonso didnt work out for us . I am beyond happy that we have got slot. This guy is a top bloke. And he and the team are only going to get better. We are surprisingly on an upwards trajectory and that seemed unlikey after losing klopp.
Agreed. Alonso’s style of football would’ve taken longer for the players to adapt to. Slot doesn’t have the ego to come in and change things just for the sake of it.
@@totalsubmitionI agree. Xabi strikes me as someone who likes to come in and quickly make radical changes to style and process and Slot seems to know what to change but also what to keep the same or similar that worked under Klopp
Every single Liverpool fan was worried when Klopp announced his departure. Following up a club legend is a tough task and many other clubs have failed and still suffer (e.g. Man Utd post-Ferguson). It seems recruitment at LFC got this crucial hire spot on. I absolutely love Slot's signature Dutch no-nonsense approach. Zero ego, total dedication, and a massive work ethic. We're in good hands.
Wow, didn't know his family was still in Holland. I had to deal with that with my dad's job growing up, it was not easy for him or us. I hope they can join him in Liverpool soon (when it's best for their family)
Hard to say as I still think Xabi wouldve become a legendary lfc manager given his history but slots' proven to be tactically and man manager every bit as clever
Never thought I would but if I was to choose between Klopp and Slot, I would pick Slot. I have just loved the play style, dynamics and energy in the squad. Not every new manager taking over a good squad has a beginning that he is having. Slot is breaking records.
You can see Arne is an introvert unless he is in work mode, which is the contrast to huge extrovert like Kloppo.... that said, he is smart, honest, works hard and super respectful in that he reminds people that Feyenoord was not some dead club that he came from, so he respects the fans of an ex-club and that is always a good thing, because he then knows that the fans are part of the success of what he's trying to do. I hate to draw comparisons but thank god we swerved someone like a 20Hag - it would have also poisoned all relations and performances like it did at Yanited. Upwards and onwards Arne! Great, insightful interview! Really taking to Slot, what a guy! Also love the vibe between him and Sander! Great chemistry, should make it a regular thing, although I don’t want Slot doing what Pep Lijnders did, and give all the secrets away!
He even said it in the video😜about how for him it feels like he s giving 0.0001% away, but for the press and media make it seem like he gives 80% away😂
We are lucky to have Arne as our new manager, who would have thought we would have had such an amazing start after Klopp. He also comes across as a genuinely nice guy as well.
Taffarel has 17 kids, 15 of them adopted. He's a special man, he doesn't seek publicity he just cares & his actions speak louder than any words. These days there's so many good people at Liverpool I'm just so proud of the Club & the way it just keeps improving season after season.
The only signing Liverpool needed in the summer was Slot looking back at it. He is basically Klopp with a slightly more introverted persona. Many will think that's a crazy comment but he is. Klopp left Liverpool in great hands and knew under his reign this season would have been a disaster. Think about his high intensity football with the most ever games in a season. Slot has this same intensity but he doesn't do it the whole time. There was a period against Brighton where we kept the ball 7 minutes after Salahs goal. The control factor is massive under Slot and is made easier by the fact he has made Gravenberch his main man. No offence to Klopp but to think Endo could control games was a massive mistake. It also shows the difference in their thinking. Slot recognises possession is 9/10ths of the law and even though Endo may have plenty of energy it's not beneficial if he's not able to keep the ball like Gravenberch. Slot is also more ruthless I feel and does what most fans are thinking in regards to the team. Quansah was off it against Ipswich and he hauled him off where Klopp definitely wouldn't. I also feel freshness in terms of managers is an often underlooked aspect. Slot hasn't got the wear and tear of Klopp who had 9 years at the top. I just feel Liverpool as a whole are in world class hands now and whatever Slot decides is the best thing to do. If he wants to spend 100m+ in jan we should sanction it without any question. This guy has a manager aspect to him that feels superior to anybody around right now. In many ways he is a throwback to Ferguson in his no nonsense dutch approach. The players have already spoken about his direct manner and the way he views stuff as black/white. In a world where everything is so superficial this approach means everything today. My honest feelings are Liverpool win at least 2 trophies this season with it more than likely being 3. The quad is not happening due to fixture congestion but a treble SHOULD happen.
before the season started the more i read and learned about slot i felt weve won the lottery that we couldn't of got a more perfect coach to take our players to the next level. Similar to klopp in some respects but a calm steely confidence as i always felt in big games jurgen tried to hard to take the pressure of players and himself. I felt klopp feared failure sometimes and his emotions were all over the place and consequently, we underperformed on lots of occasions due to this. Whereas i dont see arne ever doing that! he is too hard and supremely calm and confident and our players will be better prepared mentally for big games not picking up mixed messages from a manager not comfortable in the big occasions final games. Klopp was an amazing manager forever grateful for him!
I love the new coach, I think whats important is to remember he's still the "new" coach and will at some point, sooner or later, hit a rough patch with a few games of dropped points. What we as fans can do is to keep backing him because I truly believe this is a step in the right direction. Not at all taking anything away from Klopp as he basically made Liverpool come back to be a top club, but this is now the next step in the progression as the game evolves and players age and change. Love the interview and his view on "Good people as well as good professionals", I think in the Prem thats highly underrated.
Great interview, love Arne 💜 FSG are getting away with a poor transfer window because we got this belter of a manager, they better open the coffers in Jan

Sander Westerveld was epic during Gerrard Houllier days and the Liverpool squad that performed extremely impressive
I wish you success arne slot for sure Am still happy with you and my Liverpool ❤
Arne was amazing appointment from LFC....WELL DONE, @liverpoolfc❤
A treble winning LEGEND talking to our soon to be LEGENDARY manager.
The quad is not happening due to fixture congestion but a treble SHOULD happen.
arne really has a football brain impressed is an understatement
before the season started the more i read and learned about slot i felt weve won the lottery that we couldn't of got a more perfect coach to take our players to the next level.
Great interview by both Sander and Arne. Loving everything about us currently and doesn't the AXA look beautiful.
Good Interview
How nice is slot? I love him 😍
What a brilliant manager and long may his great start continue for a long time.
Great interview, love to see Mr Slot so relaxed
Good to see Sander again, brought back some memories that. Good lad
Who said that Arne is cold as a person! He is perfectly warm and affable.
This cafe is the number-one dream destination in my life to visit
Goodness. Arne is much intelligent than i had ever expected
