    My man, you came in so clutch. I've had the 1030 for about two months now and I had no idea that the cannons were assembled wrong. I was showing your video to my brother and I'm so happy I did, just did the mod, thanks so much for walking through it! enjoy the sub!

    What I find really weird is that someone at Baiwei saw the original Hasbro Optimus Prime and put in the effort to fix the weak points and produce a better version. Clearly fans of transformers.

      Oh yeah definitely. Or just they really pay attention to customer opinions. Either way is good tho.

    Budget is never an excuse, especially for an evergreen character sold on store shelves. This is just Hasbro taking market data and making cost cutting measures, as they usually do.
    Hasbro knows most adults, not children, are the main consumers of their higher priced Voyager/Leader classes. They know from market research that most of those adults display their transformers in their robot modes via "Detolf" shelves. They could've easily found ways around the extra kibble, but they can save it for another re-release/re-mold down the line; for more money. Why fix a problem when you can sit on it for a year sell the same toy at a higher price again, claiming it was on inflation? Hasbro exploiting people with Autism is an open secret.
    Never make excuses for Hasbro. Never ever make excuses for them with their track record of cost saving measures (firing 1,000+ employees before Christmas, fully exposed cardboard boxes, known yellowing plastics, and various other exploits not limiting to sending out the Pinkertons).

      I would really like to see from their perspective how their thought process worked when making those decisions. Their POV. Sometimes things just can't be done due to budget constraints, as far as I know, its a normal occurence for budget constraints and restrictions and sometimes it comes down to some things being cut short. *IDEALLY* I'd love to get the perfect figure for the price, but I'd also love to not have to outsource to a method where there could be ethical hang-ups for some. The notion of "buying a knock-off" is a major turn off for a portion of the consumer base and thus feel safer buying official products.
      Yes their business practices are indeed shitty, but I'd like to see what brought them to that decision, yeah budget cuts are an obvious reason, but with how things are going for the economy, there was probably other factors involved.
      I'm not gonna say "Hasbro is the best company. I am loyal to them.". Hell, me even CONSIDERING buying a K.O. should already scream that notion in my opinion. But I am just genuinely curious "Okay, what brought them to the conclusion that X/Y/Z actions are the best options available and what other options exist" because inflation IS a big issue for everything right now and certain decisions have to be made.

      @@gojiboy69 if you want to know more about what goes into making a toy id recommend watching some of That Toy Guys reviews, he studied in business so he knows some stuff and gives good explanations for this type of stuff.

    For the canons, you just really need to swap the red panels from right to left and vice versa. No need to disassemble.

      I tried that but it didnt work because the tabs are placed differently with one side having the tabs level with each other and the other side has a tab lower than the other.

    • @gojiboy69
      @gojiboy69  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      The tabs' placement were a contention point, hence the disassembly, DOES NOT excuse me fumbling that process on video though 😂.

    I’ve had the Hasbro one (with DNA kit) for a while and the paint just look so sad and unfinished. And with prices on eBay now I was able to sell the Hasbro version and buy the Baiwei version and a Baiwei Megatron and a huge dinner to feed myself and the kids 😂😂.
    I don’t mind the creaking joints. I believe that’s from the metallic paint. I’m almost tempted to get another one just for truck mode.

    I don't get how you can assume that it's budget cuts on the toy when the knockoff does so much more for less money i think its just greed and Hasbro just wants to push out a toy quicker and charge a lot.

    I have the Baiwei SS KO, Ironhide, Jetfire and Optimus. I like all of them so much more than the legit ones, but the audio at 7:06 gives me like a Pavlovian panic respose, gotta love that KO plastic creak they all have lol

    learned this from a guy who makes customs, squeaky joints despite what google may tell you means that the joints weren't lubed during development. if it was because of a overly tight screw, or not molded properly. the seams would be the first to stress and break. so you wont have to worry. lube isnt required and not every company (even official) do it. the only one that seems to be stressing a bit was the waist joint. but that's most likely just due to paint. hope this helps

    • @gojiboy69
      @gojiboy69  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Sorry I'm seeing this way later after you commented 😅. But I have to wonder if some lubricant would be good for the waist joint?

    • @SagFard
      @SagFard 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@gojiboy69 DO NOT use normal lube, unless its silicone grease etc. it can degrade the plastic and paint. use a small bit of dish soap or if you want to spend the extra $$ could buy some 3rd party lube for plastic joints, though it does cost a decent bit
