I miss when I was totally addicted to RDR2. When you are mid game and just everything is fantastic. What a journey! Thanks Rockstar (if anyone should read this..)!
I haven’t played since probably a little after Online released, and recently I’ve been opening the game, walking for a minute, then closing it.
Two days ago I said screw it and started a new game, and my life is gone again. This game sucks you in like no other; it’s an incredibly immersive and surreal experience. I don’t know how to describe it, but I literally feel like I’m actually the one that’s living Arthur’s life, but not in a video game sense, a real one, like it’s all actually happening. No other game has come even close to giving me that feeling. Sometimes I’m actually glad I have work solely because I could play 16 hour sessions and not even realize it’s been 16 hours lol.
Easily the best, and probably will forever be the best, video game and video game experience I’ll ever get, and I don’t think I’m lying saying many others feel this way too. This game will be seared in my mind for forever, I think.
Born too late to explore the world, born too early to explore the universe, but born just in time to be able to have this little portal into an intoxicatingly beautiful world.

@@funkguylorz7315 I understand you perfectly well. I felt so devastated after Arthur's death, like it was somebody I really knew, somebody really close to me. And I was surprised by this reaction, so surprised that I discussed it with my therapist 😅
In general I am not a gamer. This is the first game I ever played on x-box (because my boyfriend urged me to try). And I decided that this will be the only one 😅 I don't want to play anything else, 'cause I know that this one is the best.

I always remember this from the very first rdr2 trailer reveal. The next line would be.. Arthur: " this is over", then you would see the gang riding together as one off in the distant sun ... incredible. ..!

The reason why this game is so immersive is that all the sounds are coming from a real source in game. Rustling in the grass will be from some small creature. The howls from coyotes nearby. The train is actually passing in the distance. Hooves from travellers on horseback. Wind in the trees. It's all happening for real in game. I haven't ever played a game like it.
Fond memories. This game really made me quite emotional. What a tale. What a masterpiece.

This game feels so real. To the point where I can almost smell the burning wood. I can feel the wind in the trees and the spray of the waterfall. I want nothing more than to live here. And only here

As the story progressed and things started to crawl towards a finale, I found myself roaming the fields and planes by myself more often ... alone, on one of my favorite horses, Queen. I had nothing to do but there was nothing in particular that I wanted to do, either. I just took it all in, cause I was afraid of things coming to an end. I haven't returned to camp ever since.
My favorite spot were the lavender fields down at the Little Creek River. I roamed them up and down as I watched the clouds change color when the sun set. As the night settled and my fire burnt down to embers, I packed my things and reached one end of the valley's backs. I turned around once more, and before my eyes the white silhouettes of horses appeared down in the valley, ghostly hazy in the moonlight. Three of them like snow, and one pitch black, it was just a roaming dark speck between the bushes. The piano at 14:15 was playing, one of my favorite quiet parts. It ran shudders up my back. The horses started trotting away down the river neighing quietly, ever faster than me on foot, cautious as not to spook them. It took so long to catch up that I was afraid I would loose them.
I ended up finding the black horse at dawn in the nearby woods. She was the most beautiful thing I had seen, her coat throwing back the sun's early light with a blueish sheen, so I called her Shimmer.
I knew that moment that I would keep her close to my heart and make her part of the select few that I couldn't sell over the months, despite the constant flux of horses in and out of my stables. I have no more space left there, but I am a dying man and I've seen my share by now.
Maybe I'm coming to an end.

hahaahah I had an exact same experience at he exact same location. Walking through that valley makes you feel so alive and free with nature, its definitely my favorite place in the game. Although I was walking there and was admiring a dear in the mere distance when suddenly a wolf runs out of the bush and kills it.
Until the stupid fucking bounty hunters and their sniping dogs come and say "TiMe To DiE!"

I have never been more wholly invested in something until I played this game. As many others have said, I wish I could forget the story and play it fresh once more... the first time experiencing it was like reading the best book.
The charm of the game for me was the second play through. It’s bittersweet

R for Respect hes a good man but sad how he got caught up with all of the violence and eventually the mess Dutch caused killing people when they shouldn't been they still followed his plan until the end at the final camp.

@@GentlemanGaming1122 Actually, Dakota was probably Dutch's most loyal follower, following him into all his blood bath for a "better" world, even going to the point of taking over his gang once he died. Dakota, despite being with him "only" 4 years and being the leader for 3, was like Dutch's 3rd son.

It isn't perfect but RDR2 is a good game.
I finally bought RDR2 a few weeks ago, and the atmosphere and world is some of the best I've ever seen. Just taking a deep breath as I ride my horse as the music chimes in, it's so relaxing. Thank you so much for making this.

Just finished my second play through of the story and it was even better than the first, make sure you take your time and not rush through the stories, the amount of side missions and random things you can do is insane
Dont finish the game , some places are active during different chapters so best to explore in chapter 4 , enjoy the side missions bro and beware of the swamps and the Abirdeens

It often goes unnoticed that the two entries into the Redemption franchise have had a profound effect on people that spans far beyond the emotions it evokes while playing or the fond memories it provides.
I was fortunate enough to grow up, work upon and come of age while living on my family's ranch. The morals, traits and ethics that were instilled within me could not have been attained had I been raised elsewhere. And yet as I grew older, some of these things lost potency and some began to fade like many things do when we become overburdened in the rat race of life.
Redemption was a wake up call for me. While being emersed in the atmosphere, beauty, pain, strife and excitement of both games I felt my senses and my old self becoming reinvigorated. My lust for the wilderness and spending time in nature was ignited. My curiosity and profound respect for wildlife and animals of all shapes and sizes was reborn, twice as strong as before. My long standing interest in American history was re-awakened
and became more fervent than ever before.
The most amazing thing is I am not alone. I have noticed similar changes in others who were blessed with the experience of playing both Redemption games. I can only hope that we will see another entry into this epic franchise during our lifetimes.

Just bought a new gaming PC, playing through RDR2 for the first time, all graphic settings on Ultra everything maxed out running around 100fps and it is a beautiful thing to behold. I’m 68% of the way through I’ve put 110 hours in and I never want it to end. This is one of those games that transcends ‘game’ and becomes an experience

Enjoy the side characters and side quests. Complete the challenges, hunt every single wildlife you can. Get all the pelts. Do not get too far and if you have, I strongly urge you to restart the game and do it the right way.
Personally, I have been listening to this on my TV most evenings with the lights off, all dark. Just me, my whisky, the music, the fire keeping me warm and the cold, cold moon howling back at me... dark times... but we shall push on, push forward.

I usually hesitate to use the word masterpiece, because people often associate it with the most perfect game ever. But RDR2 is a masterpiece through and through. Everything feels like so much love and passion was put into it, it truly is a masterclass in modern video game storytelling, design, and immersion, and I don't think any other game will match up to it, at least not for a while.
this game is like 10 years ahead of its time
Sadly the online part was treated so poorly because of GTA. But not a day goes by where if I want to relax or enjoy a day with my friends we will ride across rdr2 from Saint Denis all the way to tumbleweed. Up through mountains down by the lake and into all the animals along the way just our horses and the sound of our travels.

The moment you know RDR2 is a masterpiece is when you dismount your horse to look at the scenery and the horse walks in front of you and takes a big crap.
A few times during the story i would go to town, get supplies and go up in the grizzlies. I would just set up camp and chill there. I listend to the soundtrack and to the nature around me. Call me crazy, but this game is alive. And it’s beautiful....

Hard to believe its already been over 2 years since experiencing this game. I was so hooked on the story I honestly played it too quickly. Most certainly a game I wish I could experience for the first time again.
Imagine it's night and you're in grizzlies all alone in complete solitude, you're sitting in your camp while warming your hands by the fire surrounded by snowy trees, you have your hot coffee and as you're drinking your steak is being prepared which you got from hunting a deer the early day. You hear the subtle cold wind pass by and as you're sipping your coffee you feel a chill go down your spine, you take a relieving gasp, for that moment everything is good in the world, you eat your steak and finish your coffee, you go to sleep and in the morning you wake up to go hunt again life is simple life is good.
Then a pack of wolves show up and the damn horse runs away leaving you alone to deal with the hungry beasts.

No matter the ambience I listen too, this is the only video that can put me to sleep. Which to be honest isn’t even that surprising! I remember when RDR2 was released and I was sat watching my brother play it; an ethereal experience even if you wasn’t playing the game. RDR2 will always be my comfort
Greatest Game of All Time
Red Dead 1 and 2 literally at random times I'll just grin and be like "gah this game is awesome" The music and just vast openness of them is unmatched to me. The atmosphere and tone of these games is movie quality. Easily my favorite story in gaming.

I bought this game in March at the beginning of Quarantine, Because I finally had the time to play it. It consumed my waking hours for days on end. It will forever be one of my Favorite Games.
Sometimes I just sit on my horse in the middle of the woods and listen to the Music and just vibe.
Still playing and about 96% finished as a full time mum... I only play every so often ... on the months I don't play I chill to these songs and reminisce
So cool to hear! Last year, I finished the main story and only did two missions in the Epilogue and stepped away. Trying to stay away from spoilers but am really enjoying taking my time as Arthur and am only in Chapter 2 🔥

Rdr2 was such a cathartic experience for me, I was going through some dark times when it came out sadly. But by being able to fully immerse myself into this beautiful world, my life got a whole lot better. It will forever be my favorite game of all time.
Same man. Was going through the worst panic attacks of my life. Thought my life and the world was ending. Family was falling apart. Everything seemed bleak but this game grounded me. It calmed me and ultimately made me appreciate the hardships and the calm moments of life. I will always hold this game close to my heart.
RDR2 was a pure masterpiece. Best video game I have EVER played. My son and I played the story at least 3 times and loved it every single time. Honestly I never thought a game would become a part of us as humans like this realistic life story did, telling significant stories of times past when life was rebellious and free. Thank you RockStar!
The music at 3:20 New Hanover theme is just something else. It takes me to my deep memories with my dead wishes, I get feelings no one can feel.
Certain parts of this game feel like, revisiting your pleasant aspects of childhood in a dream. The exploring, the food, the canoeing and fishing...the night sky and country air of it. Even some of the bird songs, take me back.

I remember when I saw the first trailer of Red Dead Redemption 2 . It popped up as a youtube ad around midnight . I didnt even know they were working on a new Red Dead , yet I was so excited to see a new Rockstar game . Oh boy I had no idea what I was going to walk into . I wont forget it anytime soon .
This music reminds me the time when I used to have a duo, we used to play the online every single day, hunting, killing randoms and doing the daily missions... I really miss him
i think what gives this game so much replay value is that it’s genuinely like living inside a story. you get to know the gang members to the point where you feel like you know them, and when they’re gone, you miss them. as the game progresses, it becomes smaller. this causes players to reminisce, whether about old camps, fun missions, and even fallen comrades. by the time most players finish, a lot of them feel something that can only be described as nostalgia for the “happier days” of the gang, and go start a new playthrough. with each new game, players appreciate and linger longer. we all know what’s coming, so we try so hard to relive the good old days of the gang during our replays. it sounds so corny, but this game is so immersive and beautiful. i went through a really, really tough time a few years ago, and this game got me through it.
Anyone else here in 2024? Just started a new play through. I'm ready to get hurt again.

I like this. It's like you're isolated in a big warm room alone. Dark wooden floor, a big carpet I the middle with a desk and three four chairs and a big chimney in the wall and middle. I can really enjoy this peace.
My girlfriend and I fell asleep to this while she was laying on my chest. Best feeling ever

RDR2 Story Mode is truly amazing. I've spent hours just wondering around with my horse, doing nothing and it was so peaceful.
Best game ever. I’ll never forget the long nights playing this game. Then when the pandemic happened, I got hooked once again. I don’t know if I would’ve survived Covid without red dead. Great times..
This is the perfect background ambiance. I use it while in online school and it helps me stay focused during dry lecture.
I love listening to this while in the hospital recovering from a serious case of lumbago. 😢

Please can you do music and ambience of The Jasmine Dragon (Uncle Iroh's tea shop from Avatar the Last Airbender). They have an amazing sound track and you could add amazing sounds like tea stirring, pouring, whiteware clinking, coins, customers mumuring, Iroh's voice...

RDR2 is a piece of art, no doubt about that and its soundtrack it's another proof of how manigficent it is.
I am currently only on Chapter 2 of the game. I love it! The way it makes you feel as if you are really in the Wild West. The ambience, sound design, music, acting, graphics, all of it creating something special. I can't wait to see what happens next in the story of Arthur Morgan.
Best to savor that time. Play it as slowly as possible.
Sometimes I go out wondering: hunting animals, exploring and camping in story mode. It’s a great experience.

this game is the only one i never once used fast travel for when given the option because i loved riding around in the game so much.

I know a lot of people don’t like the online but I think it’s great for the atmospheric stuff like this. Playing the game as this silent, lone outlaw who just roams from town to town, doing bounties, robbing, and then setting up camps way off the main roads and just sitting at your fire listening to the windy trees and flowing river, it’s amazing. And doing it with no hud? Perfect.

Playing this while studying
Sitting at a patio in a housing program sometimes means when taking off to work you dont always get breakfast so it really makes you appreciate the eggs sausage bacon and coffee you do get...very western. Pray for Texas by cotton smith is a good book. Couple campfire moments I picture in my head as if in rdr and well many other moments I think of the scents smells and tastes of the Old West what we didn't have back then but also what we did..

True masterpiece. I loved riding slowly through wilderness for a few day night cycles and setting camp going to hunt bringing it back, cooking and then taking bigger hunt and pelts back to the camp.

You’re Arthur Morgan. It is 11:30 PM after a long tough day of doing errands, looking after the gang and dealing with people standing in your way, you stop along the path, you decide you need to rest. You want a break away from everyone, away from everything. You unmount and take a deep breath, you gather some fire wood and start a fire. You sit there, taking time to reflect on what happened so far. You admire the night and the gorgeous nature around you, then your eyes start to feel heavy. You try to stay awake, but you can’t. You lay down in your tent, your face towards the fire. You slowly close your eyes, the warm orange color of the fire fading away as you drift off...

Rdr is so immersive i feel like i may have lived through the 1890s. The crisp cold of night, the wind blowing through the trees, the pale blue moonlight shining before you, the faint scent of smoke, the distant sound of wolves, the clinking of spurs against stirrups as you ride...Never have I felt so alive in a game. I played it through once...the second time I couldn't bring myself to end it all. Such was the beauty of this game

Played through again (first was in 2018 after release)... at beginning of the quarantine with the pandemic. So enjoyable. Total environment and story immersion with tons of exploring and hunting. Completed all “exotics” side quest requests; have every piece of clothing except 1 from trapper with a 99% story completion. All horses ridden and 90/90 challenges etc. loved it. Such a masterpiece game
I genuinely haven't properly stuck with and gotten into another story game after this, it's breath taking.
