Nice looking machine ,I didn't know you could adjust the auger cable like that, good tip. The auger brake adjust video would be interesting. Great video 😊
Machine was nearly new, and I took it in as payment for working on one of his other machines.

Another good video, I used nickels to set the shoes/scraper bar clearance on my machine. Didn't know about the bracket adjustment so that's another one to keep under my hat. Thanks Random !!

Good description and demo of how and why the tension should be set. I have a couple of teen-age snowblowers with the Tecumseh Snow King flat heads on them I maintain. Both are going great and ready for this winter. Our average winter snow fall is 115 inches, so some years they get a lot of use. My driveway is 650 feet of rocks and gravel so I keep the scraper bar about 1.25 inches high.
Those Snow Kings were great snow blower engines!

The only other thing I would do on a service is check the scraper blade to make sure it’s even side to side and adjust it forward if needed so the housing isn’t getting scraped away. I’d do that first before adjusting the skid shoes. It bears mentioning that skid shoe adjustment depends on surface you’re clearing. With my gravelly, stoney dirt road I set skid shoes at about 3/4” so I’m not throwing rocks up through the machine. I envy people who only clear on flat pavement!

Nah. There's nowhere bad the oil can go in there. Put it back down and let it sit a minute and you're good to go.
