The naming scheme of the crew is based around cold climate animals. Playing into Law's theme of seals and snow leopards.
When he YELLED "YES FINALLY" it perfectly replicated "WE HAVE A DAMN REFERENCE TABLE!! REFERENCE TABLE!!!
Sachi and and penguin remind me of what Johnny and Yosaku would've been for the Straw Hats if they had joined.
I just noticed that the Heart Pirates are named after sea life (mostly). Considering that, "Ikkaku" probably means narwhal (as in Ikakkumon) and Uni's name means sea urchin.
Ikkaku is a brave woman. she's surrounded by a bunch of SEAMAN, lol.

@@robertnelson9599 The guns he names them after do exist in the story. Also it’s not like he uses the gun in his attack, they’re just named after them, where as you could say with gamma knife Law is actually using nuclear energy for his attack.

(thinking of just nuclear power on earth) that releases not only a shit ton of energy but also dangerous sub-elements with radiation (not even sure if it’s gamma radiation and i don’t have the energy to look it up)
as an attack is stupid/ridiculous/unrealistic but then I remembered that we’re talking about one piece lmao
But fr though when i was thinking that I thought about fission but he could honestly do other things that result in gamma radiation e.g. Lightning (specifically lightning produced in our atmosphere)
Using gamma-lightning (or dark-lightning as it’s also called) would actually kinda make sense for Law since there is lightning (ish) when he uses the move (?)

Doflamingo was probably waiting for law to awaken his fruit and be able to perform the eternal youth operation on him before finding him because there's more chance of law hurting one of the crew or just killing them while being forced to train his fruit
If that was his plan then why wouldn’t Doffy treat Law better through out his life?

I wonder how Doflamingo would expect to force Law into doing that, he had to have a reliable way of doing it, if not it's too much of a risk.

Wish they did more during the raid. At least Bepo and Jean Barte. His and kid's crews got kinda shafted. Instead we get Yamato running through hallways for like 6 chapters to stop bombs that go off anyway, or the fire shenanigans. That didn't need to take up as much panel time as it did. But ah well.

Probably the reason Law wasn’t hunted down was the same reason the WG wasn’t hunting down Luffy. He just wasn’t important enough, he became important when he became a warlord.
It just so happens that I'm off work for this ENTIRE next week so this couldn't have worked out better. Ill comment on every single video, I'll participate and enjoy my Law Week, you have fun Matt. I'm happy you could get out and travel, you deserve it buddy.

I think Doffy's logic (and this is admittedly villian logic not real world logic) was that he knew one day Law would come back for him to get his vengence, and Doffy was confident that he was inside his head enough to break him again and use him for his purposes. So he didnt spend much effort going for him, knowing that Law would find him eventually anyway.
I don't know if people corrected you on this. But Law's crewmate have names based mainly on sea/polar theme. Sachi is japanese for Killer Whale, Ikaku Narwhal, Clione is a specie of sea slug and Uni means urchin.

It's Shachi, not Sachi (the way Tekking incorrectly pronounces it), but yeah, you're right. Bepo is polar bear backwards, Shachi is Orca or Killer Whale, Penguin is well, you guessed it, Ikkaku is Narwhal, Uni is Sea Urchin, and Clione is Sea Slug of the genus Clione.

I'd like to think Doflamingo was looking for Law all those years, especially having Vergo in the navy, but the Heart Pirates were just so elusive because he didn't count on the submarine. Especially being devil fruit users and the Tang being as fast as it is, they probably just couldn't catch up
If I remember correctly, at least one of the earliest recorded uses of diving bells/submersibles was actually Alexander the Great, he allegedly went into a thing like that and walked across the ocean floor of the mediteranean appearently, I'd assume not much deeper than a hundred meters or so, still relatively close to the coast, but at least the basic concept of that seems to have been around for a long long time (which makes sense considering how basic the idea is, I mean no way people back then didn't know that a dome or airtight box submerged into the water would not fill with water).
Whenever Doflamingo or someone on his crew would talk to Law it seemed to me like they still considered him part of the crew they were just letting him have his fun.
Only tekking does this for us that's why he's my favourite youtuber

Tekking could have just taken his time off to enjoy his trip but he did so much extra work to have all these videos prepped for us. Too good to us.

Doffy is pretty loyal to his family so my impression was that he was awaiting law to eventually come to him the new world, he already had the trust in him that he'd have stayed loyal to the family and eventually join him, perhaps even at the heart seat.
It seems so, but it also seems foolish coming from Doflamingo to not expect something 'bad' from Law.
Law was working with Caesar Clown in an operation for Doflamingo, and Monet, one of Doffy's most trusted crewmates was there, so yeah, Doflamingo probably thought Law remained loyal all this time and was going to re-join the crew.

Doflamingo was a Super **Rookie** when he hit Saboady. Law was only on the seas making a name for himself for at most a year, just like Luffy.

I can't claim to know Oda or what have you but logically or pratically I feel like Bepo having the orange uniform probably helps to distinguish him and possibly doesn't get himself accidentally killed by his own crewmates or lost from his crewmate's sight while like traveling in snow filled regions of the One Piece world given he's a polar bear and all.
Of course, it's because he's the proud second-in-command of the Heart Pirates, so he has to differentiate himself from his underlings!

I never thought about this before, but I bet law is basically unstoppable underwater. I bet he can use his devil fruit to in combination with the torpedoes to easily take out other pirate/marine ships.

I definitely considered that Bepo is unable to control his Sulong form, but I really think Oda could have (and in my opinion should have) added a section to Zou where someone teaches Bepo how to better control it. I mean he was chilling on Zou for a while so I think it would have been cool. It really doesn't matter how strong any of the Heart pirates are, because narratively they are no better than fodder.
It would be interesting to see Carot join Heart crew - just like Pedro and Zeppo traveled together, Carot and Beppo could be in the same crew. She could show Beppo how to control sulong better

In the picture you showed us, the one with the "full" crew, there's actually *THREE* fake, anime-only members. Not two.
The picture has 20 pirates (not Law).
The crew has 21 pirates (20 + Law).
But we know only 18 pirates (17 + Law).
The three non canon crew members are:
1) Pandaman (obviously)
2) the guy with the hat and the glasses next to Pandaman
3) on the opposite side of the picture, the guy in the back with only his right arm raised up
It took me forever to figure this out and it shouldn't have. 😅

Not cringe, just peak energy. My first video of his was 1034 chapter review and the energy suprised me so hard, Tekking's really cool, not like the rest and you see and FEEL he likes what he's doing

As for why Doflamingo didn't go on a manhunt for Law, I have a couple of ideas.
Doflamingo didn't know he was alive until he had a bounty. Even then he didn't have any real idea how to find him in the Blue seas or in paradise because of the length of travel and that Islands had different times for the log pose to set to continue and try to meet Law. Doflamingo could have had Vergo go on a manhunt for Law due to him being a marine but that would only work if Vergo was a high enough rank at the time. Even then, Vergo would have to justify exactly why he had to go out and find Law because I believe that the nature of the Ope Ope no mi was kept under wraps except for the higher ups.
Honestly given Doflamingo was situated in the New World and had other things to attend to such as Dressrosa, the slave trade, Kaidou and the SMILES, by the time Law got onto the scene, he probably just figured that it was easier for Law to come to him and have time to develop his powers rather than grab, train him and then have him perform the operation. It also helps that Law's submarine is actually perfect for evading capture.
