I didn’t touch much on the pricing of the 03 in this video, mainly because unless buying outright, it feels the price is irrelevant. For instance it can currently be had on a PHC deal at £185 a month with £2,220 a month. Which seems incredible value. Find out more here: www.gwmoramarriottburystedmunds.co.uk/ora-03/?

I’m in the trade and can confirm these are being massively discounted so they can be offered on salary sacrifice schemes and personal leases very cheaply. Whilst they have their supporters, they are just way too expensive at list price and this puts a lot of people off. Cute they may be but a tiny boot and no rear wiper really don’t help.
They launched these into a very competitive sector at a time interest rates went up massively and it’s going to be really tough to get any traction with these in the UK.

A great quick review Tish. I have to confess that I quite like it. I even like the red as it stands out from the crowd. The interior is funky but in a nice retro way as well. I've yet to see one in the flesh but I hope there are physical buttons for the climate control. I think it'll be quick enough for most scenarios in the UK where traffic only moves at the pace of the slowest car so in some places you'll be lucky to hit the speed limit and it'll take a fair time to reach it. I'll wait a while and see what residuals are like along with reliability and dealer satisfaction are like. Like many house holds I do not have the facility for a wall box for cheaper charging so things will need to change somewhat before I'd consider going fully electric.

I tested one of these whilst considering a second car as a small runaround. The interior seems very similar to my Renault Zoe ZE40. I love the Funky Cat name and quirkyness. Zoe has a surprisingly large boot... but very tight rear seats. None of my family like travelling in Zoe's rear, so we have to go in the Citroen Berlingo. With my home wallbox I have yet to public charge after three years, but wouldn't choose to have a range under about 260 miles if it was my only car... perhaps I'm just "funky chicken!".

If I turned up at work in one, I’d get beaten up 😂, but I’m in a heavy male dominated industry. I have also read that insurance could be an issue, as in costly or limited companies that will provide cover at moment. The brand needs to expand and be accepted in the UK a bit more before I’d put it on a short list.
The wheels are a copy of Renault 19 16v and Clio 16v from the nineties, look okay.

I looked at the funky cat but the two things which put me are the boot lid doesn’t open high so kept banging my head against it.
Secondly the rust proofing must be the worst of any modern car as subject to annual inspections otherwise anti corrosion warranty is invalidated but the only modern car that at six years requires payment for rustproofing.

There's probably a reason why personally I've never seen a single Ora on the road - divisive styling and the price. Having checked, the entry level is now £32k and to get the £185pm on a PCP, you've got to put down an eye watering deposit. With a more realistic deposit, you're looking at between £350-£450 per month, which is a lot for a small car with limited range.

Got delivery of mine yesterday, previously had an Id3, first impressions, tech wise it blows the id3 out of the water, I particularly like the camera vision of location of car when parking, I can feel the performance difference with the ID3 being quicker but that did not bother me, it is a head turner, being one of the first of these where I live feels very much like when I got the ID3 back in early 2021. Main difference is in monthly lease cost, I got my 03 for just under £140 inc of vat on a lease, the equivalent Id3 on same deposit for 2 years works out at just over £450per month, and that is the Volkswagen ID3 downfall for me.

Reviewers need to be cautious they are not recommending EV that could damage the finances of the buyer. The resale value of some EV are ruinous to the owners. Insurance can be a problem and stories in the press of owners being unable to get a quote for insurance or having their cars off the road for long periods waiting for spares to repair them. Moreover, is this the third given name to this vehicle……. ? All this together explains why they are now being forced to unload unwanted stock (surprisingly not selling at the high price point) through incredibly cheap lease deals…… acquisition only sensible through lease!
