    Im eyeing the bally layka.. it was my father's brand from when he was a young man, he still has their shoes to this day, well polished and re-heeled. He is in his mid-70s, so that tells you the quality of Bally. Very well discussed post, newly subscribed 👏 👍 👌 ❤

    That Trunk bag really is stunning. I also like the Celestine bag from Bally. I love the wooden handle because that's the part that tends to wear the fastest on my bags.

      I like the wooden handle - nice touch. Agreed I overly moisturise my hands then hold the straps - not good. I’ve had who’s straps replaced.

    I cannot thank you enough for sharing your knowledge on the luxury market! I wish I had your videos when I first discovered luxury years ago.
    Thanks for introducing me to Bally! I am eyeing several of their bags. I do have a question, do you have a method or way you look at what color of the handbag you purchase? I find myself gravitating toward black but want to incorporate more colors although neutrals into collection.
    Thanks for everything you do!

      Bally is a superb brand you can never go wrong with.
      Consider your outfits and which colours would go with them and skin tone as well. Always a good starting point to considering other colours.

    I love the look of the bally baily it reminds me of an APC bag (I believe the geneve), would love to hear your thoughts about the quality of the apc leather!

    • @SoAnesu
      @SoAnesu  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      APC leather is comfortably in your everyday luxury category. Think of brands such as Michael Kors, Kate Spade, Coach. Quality wise its leather for that category is good and worth the punt. If there was a style you particularly liked I would consider it you will get your money’s worth provided of course you look after it 🤦🏾‍♀️
      As an aside APC and Bally are different levels though and can’t be compared for quality and craftsmanship. Bally will be way ahead - double if not triple the price of an APC.

    Hi Anesu. Just found your channel and I am enjoying it very much. My interest in luxury items is rather new and only six months ago I bought my very first luxury handbag (Loewe puzzle mini). I am now on the hunt for a new work bag that can carry my essentials and at the same time has durable leather. I am thinking about buying the Marni trunk preloved. But what do you think, is the bag out dated in 2023 or is moving towards becoming a Marni classic?
    I am very fond of the Celine Classic bag but have doubts buying an every day bag in that price range and with such delicate leather (the liege leather is hard to find). Best regards Sisse

      The Marni is timeless go for it.

    I have only one Chloe bag - the medium Lexa, and have enjoyed it so far. Nice leather, roomy and many pockets which are so convenient. I think it’s not their IT bag? I plan to buy a Marni Trunk bag when I find the right color.

    • @SoAnesu
      @SoAnesu  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Chloe from my experience hasn’t been consistent with their quality. I’m glad the Lexa has delivered for you.
      I’m a huge fan of the trunk bag as you know. Be patient because when you get the right colour combination the brand will deliver a quality product. Enjoy your bags.

      @@SoAnesu Thanks for replying. I totally forgot I have another Chloe 😂: the Alice. Piping on the handles have came off, as well as one of the feet. I haven’t been exactly gentle with that bag though, maybe that’s why.
      Anyway do you have a video on Givenchy bags? They seem to be more “IT” than classic too, but some styles got my attention.

    Great informative content! I’m wondering what you think of Salvatore Ferragamo. I don’t own anything from them, but contemplating on their recent classic bag called Boxyz (an updated version of their legendary Gancini). It looks very well constructed and high quality leather from the pictures. I was also looking into Delvaux Brillant (the D lock seems cumbersome to use though), LV Twist one handle or Moynat Gabrielle, maybe Fendi Peekaboo (the glazing finishing puts me off on that one), but those are higher priced and not sure I like them enough to pay that bill. I also like the Asprey Steamer (bullskin) but could not find a size & color I want on their website. What would be your recommendation for a timeless top handle silhouette? Thank you!

    • @SoAnesu
      @SoAnesu  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thank you!
      I have a video coming out soon re Handbag brands to get on your radar for 2021 I’ll talk about Salvatore Ferragamo in that video please subscribe so you don’t miss that video.
      Delvaux and Moynat are a different league to LV and Fendi.
      I like Asprey superb quality! Price not too far off from Delvaux and Moynat.
      My recommendation will depend on your budget, everyday or special occasion bag, leather or colour you have in mind. Please advise and can shoot through my thoughts.

    • @biancavlad
      @biancavlad 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@SoAnesu more like a special occasion bag in these price ranges, something that is classic and timeless so I can wear it for a long time and even pass it to my daughter. I have a big collection of majority contemporary bags - shoulder bags / saddle / crossbody / chains flap bags mainly, so looking for something different and more lady-like as I’m getting more mature :) I like Delvaux Brillant pm, but the buckle looks difficult to open and prone to wear due to the design, Moynat Gabrielle but not sure I like the pm size as much (I prefer the look of the BB, though I don’t want a mini bag), LV twist one handle (I like it very much, but I want to stay away from logos this time). With Fendi Peekaboo I don’t like the glazing of the edges in the calf version, nor the way the shoulder strap attaches to the handle. I think Asprey Steamer is the design that I like the most, but I haven’t found a size (around 28 cm) and colour I can order on their website. In terms of colour, I would go for black or cognac most probably (maybe a burgundy or grey / taupe as second options). Not a fan of the famous Birkin and Kelly and out of my price range anyway. Talking about the price range, a Delvaux or Asprey is the max I would go. Many thanks for going through my lengthy message! :))

    I am considering a Bally bag, although in my country coach, MK & Tory Burch etc are more popular now. Surprised to learn that a Bally handbag ranks higher than these in terms of quality. How would you rank the See by Chloe range as compared to Bally in terms of quality and design?

    • @SoAnesu
      @SoAnesu  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Bally is way higher you cannot even compare the two. Coach, MK and Tory Burch are more your everyday luxury depending on the ranges but if you were to put a Bally side by side with MK / Coach you would notice the difference straight away but having said that from my experience Coach is a quality brand for its category. You can’t go wrong with it.
      Same with See by Chloe is way inferior to Bally on quality. Two different categories. See by Chloe cheaper / Chloe fusion line everyday luxury. Whereas Bally is affordable luxury - different (higher) quality leather and superior construction. Save your money and go for Bally - bag for life. Wear and tear will be better. Bally is also your more timeless and muted colours and designs. See by Chloe is your young, fun and colourful designs will age quickly and look worn a lot quicker. Bag won’t last a lifetime whereas a Bally could if you look after it.
      Coach is better quality and construction wise than See by Chloe. Bags are not Chloes forte.

    Fashion being fashion, I have got a good, gossipy story about Mulberry. So, back in 2008, in the middle of the global financial crisis, Mulberry was still a rather old-fashioned British brand, casting envious glances at the massive success that was Burberry. Enter Emma Hill, charged with modernising the brand and making it more contemporary.
    The strategy was to have a much higher 'celebrity count.' Alexa Chung became a brand-ambassador with a bag named after her, as did Lana del Rey. This actually worked spectacularly well at first, financial analysts were delighted and Mulberry's share price soared. But then the inevitable happened: prices rose in line with the new higher profile and Mulberry's existing customers were not willing to follow the brand up Anesu's hiearchy of bags. Five profit warnings and one new Chief Executive later, Emma Hill was abruptly replaced as Creative Director by Johnny Coca:
    the current collection, Spring/Summer 2021 is his last as well.
    So, there you go, you get genuinely helpful information from Anesu and scurrilous rumours out of me.

    • @SoAnesu
      @SoAnesu  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I remember reading their back story a while back. They brought in a French CEO who I think cranked the product prices up but it wasn’t quite the right long term strategy for Mulberry coupled with some of the bags being made in China but it’s now all British made...
      Brilliant brand nonetheless.
