Abandoned Hall's Mansion - Stay Away!

  • A well known Abandoned location in Pennsylvania is now being secretly Watched. Known as The Hall Mansion, this property has a striking 16 story elevator shaft that is visible from all around and was to be part of an elaborate Mansion. I found the driveway to the location and was greeted with signs stating that it is private property, no trespassing and is under surveillance. So i decided to fly my Spark out to the house site to see what is left of it after a massive fire took place back in the 90s. An explorer even died after falling 10 stories inside the elevator shaft. So come along as we take a look from the air as i explain some of the history and why you should stay away from Hall Mansion. Enjoy

    Please Note: Exploring Abandoned locations can be dangerous. I don't condone or encourage anyone to enter an Abandoned structure. Not only is safety a concern, but often times its illegal and when possible, i seek out permission. I simply go to document its history before it's gone and leave things the way I find them. I assume all the risks & responsibility in doing so. Please don't attempt to do this on your own.

      I really loved everything about this! You've got mad skills with that drone, excellent camera work! As always, your dialogue is informative. One of the things I love most about your work is how respectful you are of these abandoned places, and how you show other intrepid explorers the right way to do this. Thank you for another fascinating excursion!

      Hi Jay. Did you know that this video was the 1st in my box today because You Tube was having folks do a survey, "Do you like this video because.. (they list stuff like 'entertaining,', 'informative', 'other'. and they tell you to hit submit after listing like 6 things. We should have been able to hit more than one or they should have combined some answers like; 'informative/entertaining', ect. I just thought you might like to know about it if you haven't yet seen it.
      I clicked on 'informative' (and I wanted to click on entertaining but like I said you could only click on one and you couldn't write anything on why you like (or don't like ) the video, so ... But I put 'informative' because you're always giving us good advice and telling about the locations ect.
      You Tube is always a challenge. Well now, to your video. I hope the sweet kittys are having fun.😁

    I did electrical work on the property in the 80's!!! The tower contained tuned bells that were played on a keyboard in the house!! It was called the carillion tower. It was very strange the whole time I was there!!!

      @Robert Townsend : Wow! Really strange indeed. On the other hand, many old buildings and mansions from the 18's used to have huge organs or bells, precisely tuned, to act as resonators (frequency amplifiers) and, from what I have read and investigated till now, it seems it was related to old free energy devices.

    I came across this along the highway with some friends year or so ago. We did the same, pulled up to the front and talked to the house at the end of that gravel road. She said it was posted heavily and someone had fallen and died back there a few years ago. So we went to the highway and there was a cop parked on the exit ramp. So we parked 2 miles behind it at a golf course and walked through the woods. Didn’t see any cameras so we walked back on the actual path and we were totally fine. Took some photos and hung out for a while with no complications. Pretty cool place.

      I live around the corner. The stories are funny to hear but it’s mostly the controversy surrounding it that is interesting. In the end it’s just a burned out building and tower with nothing really to see worth getting in trouble over. It would be nice if someone cleared the area out and made that pond a good fishing spot. lol

    Oh wow!
    So… back in the early 90’s, my friends and I went out there because some of my friends knew a “kid” who used to live there.
    Hall was the last name. Yep.
    It was just some rich family who built it then I think the young guy moved on….
    We went out there to skateboard if Hall still had a mini ramp and or convince them to let us build a skate park out there…
    It was way more organized and still lived in but no one came out to greet us. I don’t think there was any “no trespass” signs when we went…
    we just wandered around and fantasized how cool it would be to skate / make a skatepark.
    Thank you so much for the footage! I can’t believe how dilapidated it is now!
    Also, I live on the west coast and the police don’t arrest or find anyone for trespassing or squatting in King County washington state!
    You just reminded me how much of a policed state PA is!
    I know convicted felons for having a few grams of pot in PA and in Wa, they sell weed a block away at a store near me…
    There are skate parks here all over for kids to enjoy & in PA we were criminals just for skateboarding.

    JP. I was in the Mansion back before it burned down. John Hall, hired me and a friend to move his 12 foot Bosendorfer piano. He gave us the grand tour. The house was incredible! Handball courts, full-size gymnasium, secret passages, spiral staircases, Library. A mountain stone fireplace that was so big, you could walk into it. The fireplace concealed a passageway behind it that lead to the tower. A friend of mine owned the farm that's on the other side of the creek across from the Hall Mansion. I was also there a few years later when they had the auction and sold off all of the contents.

    My friend, Andy and I, tried to explore this in 2017. The place is heavily posted and the people who live there DO NOT want people around. We asked the first neighbor there and he kindly said no and that it's because they were having trouble with vandals, there were fires, and the forest is HEAVILY filled with ticks. He basically was looking out for us for our safety. So I will also advise if one goes here, it is NOT a good idea. The neighbor even said he had just called the state police on someone who had been there a couple days before we showed up and they arrested the person on the spot. It is also a hunting ground so you have to watch out for hunters in the area so you dont get accidently shot or hurt.
    Feel free to pin if you'd like, JP. Just trying to keep people from getting any ideas about going here. It will not happen.

    It's not hard to reach this location if you walk thru the creek. Nobody owns the creek so you can legally walk thru it. Go explore the mansion then dip out by way of the creek. I wouldn't park my car anywhere nearby but there is a Walmart shopping complex as well as a park and ride nearby. Be prepared to walk a lot and run if need be.

    I explored this property with a bunch of friends who lived in Mechanicsburg maybe just a few months after the fire because I remember the whole place smelled burnt. I remember seeing spray-painted satan worshipping symbols in various places. Still on of the creepiest places I’ve ever explore all these years later. Nice video!

    Thanks again I have driven by this so many times a day it can't be counted. I've been told many stories of what it looks like and why it is standing today but never wanted to run the risk of seeing for myself. Once again you are amazing at giving us a look.

    My question is that if the current owner is soooo concerned about people trespassing on the property, why don't they just tear it down ?

    • @shots2
      @shots2 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      tearing it down cost money.. and people that get hurt trespassing can still sue.. so now you know the reason

    • @JPVideos81
      @JPVideos81  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Good question

    • @JPVideos81
      @JPVideos81  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Probably because the township is bringing in money with trespassing fines.

    • @cameleonfleuri
      @cameleonfleuri 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Absolutely agree! All those cameras and sensors, the electric system to make it work, the security guards, the people watching the videos, etc... This is pure non sense and an insane waste of money.... except if there is something important you want to hide and protect, for sure! He! He! And again, that story of a rich millionaire who built a mansion and then the mansion is suddenly mysteriously abandoned shortly before or after construction is sooo redundant. Moreover, in the commentaries, there is a man who says he worked there in the 80's to do some plumbing work. He says the tower had bells that where strangely and precisely tuned and that there was something really weird about the place. ;)

    I’ve climbed to the 8th floor with permission from the property owner. Crazy to think that people have died doing the same. The property is watched over buy one person. You’ll be arrested on the spot. Family friend have around 40 cameras around the tower and property itself.

    Knew him... Back in the early to mid - 70's me and a local tennis pro buddy knew John Hall the son. He was an happy-go-lucky eccentric all-sports bon-vivant who drove a De-Thomaso around Harrisburg. He'd sometimes drop by Wm. Penn HS to play tennis with us and it was easy to see his arrival in his car. All we tennis players enjoyed his company. We even visited him at Hall Mansion once or twice but didnt play tennis.
    When we heard he was in legal troubles it was a shock, but guess that with a highly privileged background wanted more from his dad. Halls Trucking went bankrupt which also eas a shock locally.

    Couple of things:
    First, there is no such thing as “haunted”. Any reference to any such thing ruins the rest of the content.
    Now that I’m done with that, I’ve been back there numerous times after the fire but before they became strict about the trespassing. It truly is an imposing sight. The son of the man who built it still lives in a house that can be reached by going to the end of the paved road and turning left down a separate dirt road. He said that the place was really impressive even in its unfinished state before the fire. As for the fire itself, legend has it that it was set by John Hall himself because if he couldn’t have the house then nobody would. I can’t attest to the veracity of that, but it was arson that destroyed it.
    Every so often the property comes up on the market. I believe it is still owned by the owner of Essis and Sons Flooring and Carpet, and the asking price is a couple of million dollars, which he’ll likely never get unless someone wants to start over or the property is re-zoned commercial.
    All that said, the overhead view was an interesting perspective that I hadn’t seen before, so thanks for posting this video.
