Camtasia Audio Sync Issue (Simple Fix)

In this video I show you how to fix the audio sync issues with Camtasia 2019.

If you're getting fed up with bugs with Camtasia I'd suggest trying out screenflow above. I've used it for nearly a decade. It doesn't have the same bells and whistles but it doesn't have the same bugs (audio issues and crashing).
I'll admit that it's not an ideal fix and please share your insights in the comments if you've found something better. Thank you!

It is really a pain that this is not yet solved by Camtasia, pretty shady performance, I would say. Honestly shifting the audio seems to be the only solution, so thank you for that. Shame on TechSmith that they come up with new (subscription based) pricing models but don't find time or the willingness to correct age old issues like this.

When I record a zoom meeting and I know I will have to speak, I start the recording with Video, External Mic, and System Audio. But when I listen back, the system audio that is in the video track(track1) is hugely lagging. And the external mic track, I noticed it decreases the volume of the track 1. Very frustrating. Any ideas?
I am using Camtasia 2023, and my mac is very powerful as well. So I know its not the mac.

In Camtasia, when I record both system audio and microphone audio I get an echo and really distorted recording, like those two sounds are out of sync. When I mute one, the other thats left sounds much better. What can I do to get them synced? Since this way I have to give up on system audio in favour of microphone recording...and would like to have them both together in very good quality.

Yes! I just ran into this problem today. It started when I used a new camera as a webcam instead of my webcam. Ten clicks did it! I hope they fix it as this is a year later and it is still doing it.

Hi Eric. Thank you for this work-around. I'm using Camtasia 2020 to record with my face on-camera over Google Slides on my Desktop PC (fast with good graphics card). After I finish what I want to say about one slide, I click "Pause" in Camtasia and then advance to the next slide and repeat the record process. You shared that the 10-clicks on the audio will sync my on-face camera video with the audio but will that stay in sync with the Google Slides that I recorded over? Not sure if you'll see this but wanted to give it a try. Thank you.

I think if your starting/stoping with the recording you may have to repeat this for each recording.
I like camtasia more than screenflow but I’ve gone back to screenflow bc it’s less buggy.
If you want a link to screenflow to check it out let me know. It’s more affordable than camtasia and less bugs but less features.

Unfortunately, that doesn't help. The lip sync is perfect on my timeline BUT it is AFTER rendering where the problem arises. So, maybe it is my PC. I have never seen this before. I will keep checking around.

Same issue for me
