Also he should be in a lower gear and since he said he was light. Probably just the first notch on his engine brake is enough. The hills of Ohio, West Virginia into Virginia are decent but he shouldn't have any brake issues through them. I run a 2022 freightliner through the same roads from Richmond, VA to Columbus, OH all the time. The grade is no more than 4% in most areas though there's a few 5% and like 2 7% grades depending on which way he was going. Looked by the last shipment he was in Ft. Lee at the EXchange which is the on base commissary.
Another gem from Sir Alex the Great. I’ve been in your shoes about the fuel issue. I went to an “mom and pop’s “ store and purchased 50 gal to make it to my fuel stop. My company payed me back. Take care and thank you once again for the laugh.
Same here had to get my company to reimburse me $280 for fuel when I missed the only fueling station my company card will work at and was on fumes. I now know there's only one loves between Richmond, VA and Pittsburg, PA. That's 350 miles if you dont stop at Loves in Ruther Glen, VA.
If your truck is like any other truck that I have ever driven, you will have 150 miles from the time your gauge hits E until you run out. When you said you were only almost in the red zone I was laughing my head off
Literally in love how he fights with his Garmin. This Man is amazing! Makes my time pass with hilarious content while waiting to run a bead for the pipeline. Also good cooking tech cause frozen food is for the T-rex
You have 200 gallon capacity. A 2 gallon jug is 1 percent of capacity. What could that possibly do? Just fill up more frequently especially when you know truck stops are far and few between.
This times 200. Also, I always make sure I have planned all my fuel stops and everything before I go anywhere. There are parts of this country that are very pretty, but also very horrible places to run out of fuel. Especially in the desert or in a dangerous area.
It's the glare off the mirrors. Moving the seat isn't likely to help. He needs a good pair of glasses and to drive east in morning and west in the evening.
When you made the turn at the small gas station in Crawley, WV, you were not far from me. And yes, WV is nothing but hills lol! love your videos buddy.
Agreed, he's been at it about a year now. I'm only 5 months in and I don't worry nearly as much anymore. It's also been about 2 months that I been that close to empty and or gotten loss or missed turns.
Another great video! Boy I think I would lose some serious patience with Garmin. It would probably get tossed out of the darn window. Yep! Take care from Canada eh!
Loves, flying j, pilot are only approved places to fuel at. Anything else you have to call the fuel help line and get bullied for not stopping at one of the approved places
I work in the shipping department at Wegmans bakery warehouse. Give me one helper and I’ll load the entire 53’ trailer in 5 minutes. If I don’t have to document every single stack I’ll do it in 3. And I’m talking about stacked bakery baskets on dollys loaded by hand. Not pallets with pallet jacks.
Drop down to 50 miles and idk if it’s law there but here if you’re going 13-19mph you need to have your 4ways on save up to 3500$ fuel a month. That’ll add a lot of miles, it saved my rear a few times idk what it would equal out to in a daily mileage but every bit helps especially with these prices
You don’t keep your foot on your break going down hill, your going to over heat your breaks and loose the ability to stop or even catch fire. Let the jake keep you back.
Alex I just started watching your videos for a rookie you are doing great you make me laugh and smile I to am a 26 year truck driver and it's refreshing to watch and listen to you when I can keep the good work up Alex bye
In order to maximize your fuel fuel you should use your proof control as much as possible not run your AC on high Or turn it off because because when you use your AC and you're AC it uses the Is AC compressor which uses fuel. When you're going down the mountains try to use your engine break as much as possible preferably preferably at least 500' before you start the descent
Yeah I'm trying a fast paced editing style. Not sure if people prefer a fast or slower pace editing style. At the end of the video past the endscreens I try and include some random clips just to help people watch 100% of the video Instead of just clicking off as soon as they see the endscreens
Haha, you better be glad I don't post my trucker videos all you'd get is me singing pop songs for 11 hours everyday or you'd watch me listen to podcasts.
Lol yeah I'm pretty mello most of the time. I'm the guy that when i start yelling and get mad i still end my sentence with "please" and "thank you" just because im so used to it. Hahaha
@@ALEXTHETRUCKINGGUY i play American truck simulator a lot and every time someone cuts me off I always yell something along of “WHAT THE HELL MAN?!” And most truckers out there are like that too.
Truck drivers, could you drop your trailer if you needed to like in a gas station parking lot, and just take the cab to the gas pump? Or is it against the rules to unhook when not at a drop off location.
feel bad for you man same thing almost happened to my car legit I didn't check the gas tank for like 70 miles and it had like it had like half a gas tank when I drove it out of the driveway and I did not bother checking my gas meter 70 miles later my car was a quarter gallon I end up having to get a tow truck in order to tow it to a gas station at least you didn't have to have a tow truck come
@@ALEXTHETRUCKINGGUY I'd buy yourself a road atlas from loves if you don't have one, it'll tell you every truck route you can find on there. Also recommendation to allow global custom nitro emoji's on your discord server. Cool thanks.
I enjoy your videos. It's really kind of amazing, a job that requires you to sleep in your car. Yeah I bet a lot of people quit. The truck stops are disgusting. It does seem to be a good job for a young guy looking for a little adventure. It's clearly a dangerous job. You're smart to stay back from the pack on the highway. I do the same thing. A 70 mph accident is going to be bad.
You can still be a truck driver, they have regional, dedicated and local, look to see which option is best for you, I’m in school but I’m going to do OTR first before going local
That awkward turn in that petrol station would have so been me so if in doubt don't do it chances are you'll mess up good job though Alex you got out again without incident 👏 👍 😀
For some reason my garmin trys to route me through those small side roads when going through their until it eventually says something like unable to navigate but just keep driving and eventually put adress in again and itll work fine i think its a new jighway their

We're halfway there
Keep trucking 🚚u almost there come on people. Hey Alex the bumper stickers I got 3 trucks they need u name.
Nice truck
Alex; Are you Indian?
Don’t ever hold your brakes down hill. Let your Jake brake handle the weight and use your service brake sparingly. Good content. Be patient.
it makes an awesome sound too
@@randomqrcod.e The newer trucks not really
@@weirdfan88 the older trucks that go past my house are so loud late at night all I hear is brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
Yeah he doesn't have a standard Jake brake. He just has a muffled engine brake. Doesn't make that classic sound.
Also he should be in a lower gear and since he said he was light. Probably just the first notch on his engine brake is enough. 200 gallon tank you should get minimum 800 miles with an additional 24 - 48 hours to idle.

I wonder if the entire trucking industry is just yelling "GARMIN!"
The best driver be Alex
Hahaha I don't know about that. I get lost alot
Tip raise or lower seat hight slightly to keep sun out of ur eyes Alex.
It's the glare off the mirrors. Moving the seat isn't likely to help. He needs a good pair of glasses and to drive east in morning and west in the evening.
🤦♂️🤦♂️ ahhh why didn't I think of that? Good idea. Now I know what to do. I'll try it out 👍
I know right where you're at. Up and down US - 35 all the time. I'm in and out of Columbia, OH a lot.
Alex use the hammer GPS trucing app works great for directions
Bro I’m parked a few trucks away from you right now at the PA terminal 👋🏿

I bought a Garmin Dezl which I absolutely love for every other feature but I can attest that the voice recognition is akin to Helen Keller with a map.
Hello Alex 👋🏼👋🏼
Hi hello 👋good job trucking 🚚
keep up the good work Alex
You don’t keep your foot on your break going down hill, your going to over heat your breaks and loose the ability to stop or even catch fire. Let the jake keep you back.
Run Truckers Path on one of your devices, shows you everything (Truck Stops, Rest Areas ETC right on the route/map)
Is it expensive?
@@tmo.48 not too bad, you can do a 7day trial
i believe - but its worth it. You can also see parking availability, fuel prices etc - its bad ass.

Get some polarized sunglasses! 😎
would you recommend trucking as a first job?
I love you Alex!!! People like you making trucking seem a better idea with video, keep on trucking!!🥰👍🏾👍🏾🤝🏾🤝🏾
Who refuses a delivery when there's all these shortages?
You wanna save fuel going down hill? Ask an old timer about Georgia overdrive…….
Ooh Pork! Wow, that's been in there for like.... a month. *I should probably eat that* Eh, imma leave it in there.
Yeah lol. I actually cooked some of it for dinner tonight and it was pretty good. Mesquite flavor
Ik this video is a little old but your one of the reasons I wanna be a truck driver 🦾🐐

Hey Alex do you get good miles with variant and how are they on your hometime
