I have to say I greatly appreciate this guy. Especially being that he comes from a system unfortunately known for its “tribalism” and infighting, he stays clear of the gossip, and is focused on communicating the art (which he does very effectively). DO NOT listen to anyone who talks trash about him, he’s the real deal. Definitely going to look him up when this whole look down is over.

Paul, I really enjoy practicing Kali and how you are able to logically integrate the didactical teachings of Kali as you parallel those teachings with the clinical aspect thru " Drills / Hand to Hand Combat / Weapons Training " in a real time scenario of workouts that you instill in me. Kali is beautiful and formidable. I wouldn't want to get in the way of that buzzsaw of the double sinawali. In my system we've done a little bit of single stick tambo, basically same weapon although I can't say that I've ever taken a deep dive into kali.
Question; while these techniques certainly would hurt the sticks themselves don't seem to have enough mass to them that they would disable. Cause pain? Absolutely. But I wonder about their effect on a disciplined, or drugged or very heavily clothed attacker. Any comments?
