Great job as always!!!! Love the way you expose the error of the redefinition of tongues!!! This is something that has been buried by Pentecostals and for good reason because what you have exposed undercuts any argument they have! Incidentally, I live in Kansas east of Topeka. Hi Andreas, I really do appreciate your videos about the deception of tongues. Not many people directly address this issue. I believe we are yet to see more people coming out of this deception. Like you I have been many years in a hyper-charismatic church (even neo-charismatic apparently…) where tongues was extremely emphasised on. A few months ago I questioned it, did my research and by God’s grace I understood how false it was. Your video with Doreen Virtue then came just at the right time! I have stopped now and in no way I am backsliding or missing out on anything (like they say it would), on the contrary it makes everything about God and His word a lot more clearer and simple- and a less lot mystical. Thank you and God bless you.

Raised as a Pentecostal charismatic I would’ve likely dismissed this church history 30 years ago, having had what I thought was a genuine experience of speaking in tongues as a teenager after seeking “the baptism..” for probably at least a couple of years. It’s taken me quite some time to be settled in what I believe regarding it. While there are definitely many fakers who simply make it up as they go, my experience was a very emotionally driven but genuine experience that reflected my expectations from years of conditioning. I’ve seen the video proof to also know that such experiences are not limited to Pentecostal Christians.

Here in India there are no reformed Church but mostly Penticostals and Charismatics. They also say without the gift of tongues you'll not go to heaven or the Holy Spirit is not with you or you lack the genuine Faith, and your salvation hinges on it! Many Hindus also does the same thing as the Penticostals, they go berserk and lose control of themselves...it's heretical!

I am just grateful that I have been relieved of the hyper Calvinistic dry eyed religion that was forced upon me as a child. I absolutely adore the peace that comes with my prayer language as well as the beauty of not having to prove anything to anyone in the context of sweet fellowship with my triune God. I spent years in the penitentiary watching false signs and wonders that were demonic to the core, and it always came on the wake of beautiful God-given miracles signs and wonders in tongues. There will always be a false with the genuine. That is just the way it is in the war that we are in. I am a front line disaster relief responder as chaplain and physical response. We see miracles often, and experience a genuine language miracles as well. You better be careful what you’re stepping in as you discount genuine members of the family of God through the blood of the Lamb. @@bjones5791 I've come to many Pentecostal and Charismatic churches. Was raised a Pentecostal. Their practices are the reason why I was agnostic in the early years of my life. As I studied the Bible for myself, I have come to the conclusion that many practices in the Pentecostal denomination are unbiblical. Such examples are: Whipping the air with a belt as a "prophetic" act of slaying spirits, vomiting as a way of releasing the demon that is causing your sickness, being slain in the spirit (if the Holy Spirit truly touches you, why does the pastor have to push you?). Many of the verses that Charismatics use to support slain in the Spirit are accounts of people like Ezekiel falling down FORWARD not backward in FEAR of God (whenever they saw God or angels, people in the Bible could not stand looking at them and some were even afraid), prosperity gospel (coming to Jesus for money and not for the remission of sins). I would not consider myself a Calvinist nor an Arminian. I'm somewhere in the middle, but I am glad I came out of the Pentecostal circle. My family though are still Pentecostal and that is the reason why they no longer go to church. Instead, they listen to a "prophetess" that gives them "new knowledge" that pastors from churches do not give. My mother says that what pastors from churches preach are just being repeated over and over again (the gospel) and that they are boring. Of course, the Bible says in 1 Timothy 4:1 that "in the last days, many will depart from the faith, giving heed to deceiving spirits".
I'm worried about my family now. I would consider Pentecostalism on the same level as Seventh-Day Adventism.

Merry Christmas Andreas🙏 I was just thinking all these “tongues” sound identical everywhere you hear them. The same sounds and lots of “ha ha.” There are thousands of languages around the world but these false sounds never vary. They seem to be speaking ONE tongue and no one seems to be able to identify or translate it which is convenient for perpetuating their teaching of this inane babbling.
Your information here was helpful. I’ve been learning a lot about the beginnings of the Pentecostal movement on the channel: Leaving The Message they focus on William Branham and his cult of personality. Also the channel Long For Truth1, they focus on all the characters you mentioned and more. It’s truly chilling and demonic. God bless you brother. 🙏✝️

Hi Mary, thanks for sharing your thoughts. My evaluation is slightly different. I don't think these tongues sound the same but rather have characteristics that are too individualistic. Sam Storms in his apologetics on modern tongues (the book "Heavenly Language") thinks that speaking in tongues is a spiritual language individually crafted by the Holy Spirit. No two tongue-speakers share the exact same vocabulary. They might sound similar phonetically, but on a "lexical" level, each word seems to be newly invented. This is actually something that makes me question the supernatural nature of modern glossolalia. If it is truly a heavenly language, you would expect to find groups of tongue-speakers who share the exact same vocabulary. Blessings.

      @Savedbygrace22 ปีที่แล้ว

@@AndreasWiget I understand what your saying. I was trying to say earlier they seem to use the same phonetic sounds. Your point is well taken that they all have they’re own new “words” which makes your point on the video I think, they had to resort to the excuse of heavenly language (gibberish) when they realized they weren’t using real languages. Thanks for your comment. I pray you have a blessed new year in Christ my brother. 🙏✝️

Unless it is a real known language it is not tongues. You should be able to prove it when speaking the Gospel to an unbeliever who will hear about their sin and how only Jesus can save them. So i presume you have tested this? Also is this gift a blessing for you? Tongues are supposed to be a sign for unbelievers. You should be pointing to the fact that the sign of tongues was a blessing for those who saw the sign (Tongues) and how it pointed men to Christ and repentance. Unfortunately Christians today pretend to speak in tongues but are found to be practicing a form of heresy called Gnosticism. The gibberish unintelligible tongues only blesses you because it is like a placebo. it is the very same "feeling" people get from the false word of faith doctrines. The gibberish tongues spoken today is new doctrines created by known false teachers. We all know tongues is a real known language according to scripture but ironically Christians who claim to speak in tongues can not do that one which can be tested. All they can do is the untestable meaningless babble that makes them feel good. Our feelings are not a good indicator of how to interpret scripture.

Acts 2:4-18 And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.
And there were dwelling at Jerusalem Jews, devout men, out of every nation under heaven.
Now when this was noised abroad, the multitude came together, and were confounded, because that every man heard them speak in his own language.
And they were all amazed and marvelled, saying one to another, Behold, are not all these which speak Galilaeans?
And how hear we every man in our own tongue, wherein we were born?
Parthians, and Medes, and Elamites, and the dwellers in Mesopotamia, and in Judaea, and Cappadocia, in Pontus, and Asia,
Phrygia, and Pamphylia, in Egypt, and in the parts of Libya about Cyrene, and strangers of Rome, Jews and proselytes,
Cretes and Arabians, we do hear them speak in our tongues the wonderful works of God.
And they were all amazed, and were in doubt, saying one to another, What meaneth this?
Others mocking said, These men are full of new wine.
But Peter, standing up with the eleven, lifted up his voice, and said unto them, Ye men of Judaea, and all ye that dwell at Jerusalem, be this known unto you, and hearken to my words:
For these are not drunken, as ye suppose, seeing it is but the third hour of the day.
      But this is that which was spoken by the prophet Joel;
And it shall come to pass in the last days, saith God,I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh: and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams:
And on my servants and on my handmaidens I will pour out in those days of my Spirit; and they shall prophesy:

The gift of tongues is known languages as of evident in Acts and any mention in the other epistles doesn't justify the gibberish we see today and even if it did why are there never interpreters? People running wild speaking nonsense ignoring the Bible's clear instruction that without an interpreter you should stay quiet for it does nothing for anyone but that person.
Here's the thing, that non-language people are speaking if they feel so moved can be simply seen as an expression of faith not unlike singing or dancing however whatever it is does not allow a person to then define it as the gift of tongues, its something else.
Tongues are given as a sign to unbelievers because it allowed the early believers to witness to other nationalities. I do not deny they're for today but this gibberish is not tongues.

Matthew 7:13-23 Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat:
Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.
Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.
Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles?
Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit.
A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit.
Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire.
Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them.
Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.
Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?
And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.

The truth is it is possible only if The Father so wishes and that isn't obvious. If the believers doctrine is folly why would they be gifted. Now We know from the bible it occurred without plain sight. It wasnt expected or coerced from The Father. People thought they were drunk. The languages spoken may have been mixed up or contained obsolete or obscure words, or common words that exist in different languages.
When I reached out for salvation I was taken in by AOG church. The pastor proceeded to teach me how to pray in tongues, by drawing from my abdomen and expelling air and making sounds. Why does a gift of the Spirit need teaching? I personally believed this to be a form of oracle practice. Right from the beginning I differed from others beliefs in tongues thinking it had to make sense as in the bible. One day during praise and worship when everyone was getting down I experienced my first voice from the far. He said, "I am a Jew." The unintelligible gibberish and using books teaching to heal body parts by prayer and laying on of hands had me fooled for some time but i eventually left it all. Jesus and the Church of Christ never did any of this fly by night Holy Spirit act. Now after trying to return to penticostalism and their lies and recently going to the Catholic church just to get some straight forward teaching for my children, while not believing in the Mary cult. I actually spend my time with The Father and honestly have learned from His spirit that there are two Jesus in the Bible just as Jesus warned us. The Yeshua Messiah witnessed by John and Luke and the Doctrine of The Fear which Yeshua carried (demons and the World were scared of Him) and the rules adopted from Greek philosophers and their pagan beliefs in love in the light taught by the Saviour Paul. "For he that speaketh in an unknown tongue speaketh not unto men, but unto God: for no man understandeth him; howbeit in the spirit he speaketh mysteries (1 Cor 14:2). It'd be great if you could research how the Nestle-Aland / UBS text got made and how it's based on the Vaticanus and Sinaiticus manuscripts (codex b and aleph) and how the text alters the meaning in many places, how the two manuscripts don't collate with the textus receptus and how they even contradict each other. Then research in which bible versions the text is used.
Btw. Here is proof it comes from the Vatican:
“The text shared by these two editions was adopted internationally by Bible Societies, an following an agreement between the Vatican and the United Bible Societies it has served as the basis for new translations and for revisions made under their supervision. This marks a significant step with regard to interconfessional relationships.” (NA/UBS 27th edition p. 45).

Now, as I listen to real, human languages, I can detect an accent, pronunciations, inflections, various vowels and special letter sounds.
Nothing about these people who choose to utter gibberish tells me that they are given holy gifts or the Holy Spirit.

The only genuine examples of the gift of tongues I have seen were outside of the Pentecostal Church.
I have heard several examples from Orthodoxy - monolingual Greek priests and monks who would hear confession from a non-Greek person visiting their parish, and respond to them in Greek - and the person would hear those words in their home language.
The other example was in a Baptist church when I was younger. Partway through the Sermon the pastor stops talking. He says something like "I just received word that I'm not the one who should be speaking right now - there's someone else with something to say"
Immediately one of the church members starts shouting in Chinese. It turned out that a mainland Chinese person was visiting - their house church was under severe persecution at the time and it was weighing on this person, thinking "why am I here while my family is suffering"?
The person (who does not understand or speak Chinese) had shouted something to the effect of "(name), (name), and (name) your brothers and sisters are safe, they are presently being kept safe by God and you will return to them"
Miracles never come without a message. Even if there were some kind of glossolalia spiritual language, it wouldn't come without a purpose or a message behind it.

44 While Peter yet spake these words, the Holy Ghost fell on all them which heard the word.
45 And they of the circumcision which believed were astonished, as many as came with Peter, because that on the Gentiles also was poured out the gift of the Holy Ghost.
46 For they heard them speak with tongues, and magnify God. Then answered Peter,
47 Can any man forbid water, that these should not be baptized, which have received the Holy Ghost as well as we?

Hi Andreas, I have a question about the sinful nature. Isn’t the sinful nature the flesh ? And isn’t this flesh the same that everyone has (unbelievers and believers) ? From my understanding only the spirit changed in a believer not the natural person. I looked up so many teachers in the last days and everyone says believers dont have the flesh anymore, or they say the flesh is neutral now. I don’t get it. They say we only have the carnal mind. You made a video about this but this questions remained. Would be great if you could answer, this seems to be a important truth in my life but everyone teaches the opposite.
    Thanks in advance

You do need to understand the basics of Biblical anthropology. Human actions are always the result of their inner man (the heart). You act in full accordance with the state of your nature. So, if someone claims to be completely free from the sin principle he would not be able to sin anymore. Let me help you with better theology. Before salvation, you were in bondage to sin. Now that you are saved, you experience both, the remaining effects of the sin principle as well as the heart-transforming work of the Spirit. You are left in a state of remaining sin until you either die or the Lord returns. Only thereafter your heart will be perfected. In eternity, you cannot sin anymore because your heart will be completely sanctified and restored. But on this side of heaven, you will have to live with the tension between the remaining power of sin and the Spirit's heart-renewing work.

yes i totally get that and this is what I see as truth in the writings in Paul. But what does Andrew Wommack mean when he says „the old man is gone“ ? He says the old man left a body that was programmed old behavior and old ways of thinking. This is nothing what I experience, how come they are born again their whole life and say we don’t have a sin nature ? I try to find a answer but I don’t get it. If God placed those teacher in the church to speak the gospel how come they teach something like that? Paul personified this sinful nature but they kinda downplay the flesh.
And what about the „new heart“? When I focus on my heart I feel no different then before. I know my spirit is new and experience fruits of the spirit but in other days I feel fleshy emotions there.

Hi Beniam. Thanks for your thoughts. However, I am not sure if you understood the content of this video. The way the gift of tongues has been understood changed. Originally, it was the gift to miraculously speak in an unlearned human language. This is called xenolalia. The redefinition came much later in church history through the glossolalia theorie of the Higher Critics and eventually through the failed missionary tongues of the early Pentecostals. Pentecostals between 1901-7 all believed that tongues was xenolalia. Many of them believed to miraculously speak in Chinese or Indian languages. But when they eventually went on mission, they had to find out that no one understood their xenolalic tongues. This is when a redefinition was needed. Pentecostals quickly claimed that their alleged gift was not the ability to speak in foreign languages but to speak an angelic language that only God understands. This was a novel understanding of the gift of tongues that was not shared in ecclesiatical writings for many centuries. The Biblical gift of tongues is always the supernatural ability to speak in previously unlearned intelligible human languages and nothing else.

I grew up in pentecost and never heard of any one person or persons being the founder. We were taught the church of 33 AD is still preaching the message of 33 AD, using Act 2:38 as the foundation. I'm 65 and have been in many pentecostal churches and I've never heard a sermon that I can recall, mention the the people you say are the founder's of what pentecostalism is today. I have heard their names in general study of what happened in that time era. Written or oral history is not always accurate, as it's seen through someone else's eyes and interrupted by those reading or hearing it. By saying there are people that founded pentecostalism, you can then build what is wrong with it, by interpreting what they did that was wrong. I would have liked to have heard more scripture mixed in with your views. As a person who speaks in tounges I have never been demonstrative in my worship. But, who am I to judge others. I would never base my experience with speaking in tounges on history documented over a 100 years ago.

Also, this is what Pentecostal historian Vinson Synan writes, “The first Pentecostals, in the modern sense of the word, can be traced to Parham’s Bible school in Topeka, Kansas, in 1901. In spite of the controversy over the origins and timing of Parham’s emphasis on tongues, all historians agree the movement began early in 1901 just as the world entered the 20th century. As a result of the Topeka Pentecost, Parham formulated the doctrine that tongues were the “Bible evidence” of the baptism in the Holy Spirit.” (Vinson Synan, The Century of the Holy Spirit, Kindle-version)

Jesus is going to judge the sheep and the goats, according to [ Matthew 25:31-46 ]

The sheep are going to say to Jesus, when did we see you and did all these things unto you? And Jesus is going to say to them, when you did it to the brethren, you did it unto me.
The goats are going to be cast into the lake of fire, because they loved not the brethren.

The goats are going to say to Jesus, when did we see you and didn't do all these things unto you? And Jesus is going to say to them, when you didn't do it to the brethren, you didn't do it unto me.
In the resurrection of the dead, Jesus is not going to ask the sheep or the goats.

Brother you use the wrong references to prove your point. It`s the same as taking some false preachers whom spread false doctrines, women, men, to show that the gift of teaching is not for today. The gift of speaking in tongues is real, but you will rarely find it on tv or any mainstream source. It should not be there in the first place. We don`t stream people praying why should anyone in their right mind stream people praying in tongues? oh, as you point out in your video examples, it`s people who put on a show and they are heretics to begin with. There are people whom make a mockery out of the gift of prophecy and speaking in tongues at the expense of immature Christians, hoping to sell an experience and same snake oil to go with it, which is why the cessationist camp has gained ground - it is a good thing to some measure. I would teach against these lunatics too - but fact still remains, that gift of prophecy and tongues is still true to this day, as the Bible clearly teaches. Problem is the mass of people whom falsify these gifts and the other Christians whom have 0 discernment and follow them.

@@Given_Grace , the Church is findable and worldwide and two thousand years old. Don't believe in the dissenting doctrines of 500 year old traditions of men. The Church doesn't end, It isn't reformed or remade.

For the record, there's a stark difference between the true Pentecostal outpouring of the Holy Spirit and the counterfeit Charismatic movement, spear-headed by Roman Catholicism, with its myriad of demonic, kundalini spirits, etc...
According to John 3:3 (KJV): "...Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God."
John 3:5: "Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.
In this passage, the clear distinction is made between seeing and entering. The former takes place through the regenerative experience of salvation and the latter experience of entering takes place upon receiving Water Baptism and Spirit Baptism, evidenced by speaking in tongues.
Moreover, per John 14:17: Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you.
From this we ascertain that the Holy Spirit dwells with a believer upon salvation, yet Christ's final exhortation was for his disciples to tarry in Jerusalem until the infilling of the Holy Spirit on the Day of Pentecost, which took place at a later date subsequent to His Ascension.
Lastly, the Parable of Ten Virgins in Matthew 25, depicts the plight of the left-behind church. The only distinction given between the wise and foolish ones, was the taking of oil in their vessels. This refers to the infilling of the Holy Spirit that will cease at the Rapture, as the entire reason for receiving Him is that we may edify and prepare ourselves to be His chaste Bride when Christ returns.
As Apostle Paul states in 1 Corinthians 14:14-15: For if I pray in an unknown tongue, my spirit prayeth, but my understanding is unfruitful. What is it then? I will pray with the spirit, and I will pray with the understanding also: I will sing with the spirit, and I will sing with the understanding also.
In summation, all of the apostles spoke in tongues, Jesus' final exhortation was for us to speak in tongues and the Baptism of the Holy Spirit is a vital aspect that is necessary in order to makes our spiritual garments ready, "without spot, blemish, wrinkles or any such thing," when our Lord returns to Rapture away His Bride who is found ardently waiting for Him. I would urge every Christian to look deeper into this matter, setting aside any preconceived notions, and if we do err, let's rather err on the side of caution, if this Spirit Baptism is found to be a necessary pre-requisite in order to be raptured. Thank you.
