This is an incredibly useful tutorial. I came to the same conclusions before I saw this, but your streamlined, step by step presentation is very helpful. Your point about getting that vocal sample tweaked and ready FIRST, then import is a good lesson in thinking ahead and attention to detail…very old school producer mindset…oh yeah, and your voice is cool.
Your the man... I need to send you some of my drum tracks so you can make them sound better and do some creative with them hehe. Thanks for your help with the production and thanks so much for the inspiration that’s the best part of the haq a tracks!
Bravo! When I started watching this, I was wondering why anyone would bother getting vocals into Gadget. I thought, "Wouldn't you just export tracks from Gadget into Cubasis and track vocals afterwards?" Then I heard what you did with your vocals once you got them into Gadget. Nicely done. If you haven't already done one, I'd suggest another video on various workflows that let you get the most out of Gadget and Cubasis (or Auria). I have a few that I like, so I'm sure you've found several ways too, and you're really good at explaining this sort of thing.
+Phil Selman Thank you very much. I'm really happy that you find the video useful. Regarding more Gadget videos. If you check my playlist section you'll find a playlist named "KORG Gadget dnb production tricks". It's a series in where I am showing how I'm making a Drum and bass track with Gadget. There are 5 parts made so far plus a part with a full explanation and tutorial regarding Side-chain compression. The sixth part will be out on Monday. This entire series is basically about my workflow and why I do staid the way I do. :) Regarding Cubasis. Even though I have featured Cubasis a lot in my previous videos (I am a Cubasis guy). I am planning on making a similar series as the Gadget production tricks. Regarding Auria. I don't use Auria, not because I don't like it or anything. It's an incredibly competent DAW. The GUI of Auria is just too fiddly to be used on my iPad mini 2. Controls are too small to handle basically. Plus my iPad doesn't have the juice to do the type of complex mixes I want to do. I'll probably start featuring Auria when I get myself a bigger iPad with more power under the hood. :)
As usual Jakob, this is a great tutorial. You're a legend, sir! I just wish that Korg would allow you to record audio directly to one of the pads on either sampler. Audio/Copy paste is starting to feel like the slowest, least intuitive part of the iOS music making process where once it was the most unique and exciting part.
Vocals in KORG Gadget? Well, making awesome music with Gadget is easy, but when it comes to singing or rapping over your awesome music, Gadget lack audio tracks. So how can we get around this?
Really epic results on here, and thank you for Tutorials on this. But the purchases on this two devices was Bad on iPad 2. take two updates until i could Download them. But now i'm happy 👌🏻
Hej! tack för interesanta och underhollande videos :) jag undrar om du skulle kunna göra en video om Gadget och anbelton live export. själv är jag intereserad av att se hur det ser ut i arrangement view ;)
+Stone Marble AcMa Tack! =D Ska lägga till ditt förslag i min "to do" lista.
Abu Dhabi Bilbao, Bilbao Abu Dhabi ...... luckily we have Zurich now. You’re still limited to 16 bars, but luckily that’s an entire verse and you can record a different verse in each track
I think about reducing my "installed" Apps on the iPAd from hundreds Music Apps to only some special Retro Synths Cubasis as 2. DAW and AUM as Audiomixer with Effects and recording. So i use Gadget MORE and MORE. . (Plus some nice little Hardware Synths for "creative knobbing".
OMG Did you finish the track yet? Hope it's not just a jingle, would be a waste :D Getting Nanokey studio in a few days, chewing my nails for Gadget going on sale again :-)
Jakob, Smashing tutorial! Here's my question; I loaded a bunch of samples into Bilbao and now I want to duplicate this version of Bilbao, is there an easy way to duplicate the gadget without doing it manually?
+K.B. Stevens The way I do this is by using presets. When you've filled Bilbao with samples and done your edit, save a preset by taping "Sound Program" inside the Display window. A little window will pop up and at the top you've got save options. When you've saved your preset you can add another Bilbao gadget and load your preset with all your edits through the preset browser. The preset browser can also be accessible through the "Program" button to the left right under the Display window. Hope this helps! :)
Dude, these old videos, when you just groovin 🔥🙏
Great tutorial. Such positivity, and when those pads dropped I was nodding my head too :)
This tutorial is excellent. It also serves as a good demo of the in app purchases. Wasn't even searching this out, TH-cam had it as a suggested video.

I feel you! I want recording possibilities too. :)
+Slow Vision …I second that emotion.

+Jakob Haq Seriously brilliant video
Thank you Doug! Means a LOT to me! =D
Very nice Jakob. Could you please do a video on how you created the harmonized vocals in cubasis? That would be much appreciated.
I'll put it on my 2-do list! =D
Thanks thanks thanks!... thanks to share your way of feel the respect.
+Nahuel Masman My pleasure! =D

Seems there is a 5 second limit to individual samples on Bilbao, correct?
nice track
+alex west Thank you!

Good vid, but now you can record audio as well. There’s the zurich gadget applied into the latest update
Very good!

+Jay Zen Not finished, but still working on it. It's usually take a long time finishing up stuff. :)

6:37 XD his face is so funny
I've made about 10 raps with korg gadget just get Bilbao and have a shit load of patients, there's a few tricks as well took me a bit to figure out
Andy I'm assuming you bounced your beat into something like garage band app, rapped over it, the. Bounced that back into Bilbao for further editing?
I wonder why gadget doesn't have audio recording? Wouldn't it be a simple thing to add? I suppose it's just one long sample with recording.
Hi !) you positive mean).Respect.
+Krasavkin Roman Ershov Thank you! =D
WOW!!! :D
6:53 - DAS IT MANE
Dat satisfaction face lol
Don’t forget Vancouver...
