    Mr Attenborough approves of this message. The sidechain is so easy to easy and the latest FX updates in Gadget have improved it immensely.

    More Jakob! More! You know I could do with some DnB tips and who better to get them from than you, really need to get some drum break samples as I don't have any samples what so ever.

    • @JakobHaq
      @JakobHaq  8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +joeboygsxr Oh, there will be more! You really should check out some breakbeat sample packs Joe. It's a great way of adding motion and energy to a track. Filter a bit here and there and boom you've got speed! =D

    Love the video, but why are you sharing my seceret??!! It's crazy how cheap gadget was a while back :D.
    Gladstone and the sampler pads work great with my old school Drum pad. It's about ten years old. Perfect condition, runs on batteries and it still works as a sequencer. Dive into Gladstone and create "Heavyocity" like samples. Side chain, tone, decay, ambiance mix. Of course you can switch the kits up to make them sound metallic, or bass resonant for that cinematic touch.

    • @JakobHaq
      @JakobHaq  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +MiddleMapMusic What kind of drum pads are you using? :)

    • @KmK3830
      @KmK3830 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Jakob Haq I use an old BOSS DR-670 that was gifted to me. I send the clock from machine mikro as well. The 2010 version. The very first orange pad.. Irig really is a life saver for old gear I purchased almost 8 years ago lol.

    Jättebra och intressant video. Vad är din åsikt om att jobba i modstep och skicka midi till gadget och på så sätt få med andra instrument och bara ha en gemensam arbetsyta?

    • @JakobHaq
      @JakobHaq  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      +pappa fattig Hmm, jag brukar inte jobba så. När jag kör Gadget så är det oftast för att projektet jag bygger inte behöver något annat.
      I andra fall där jag bara kör synth appar brukar det bli Cubasis.
      MODSTEP använder jag mest för att bygga livesets. Där är MODSTEP perfekt då en funkar som Ableton live med "clip-launching" typ.
      För andra typer av liveset där jag inte behöver MIDI, utan bygger mest med loppets och liknande använder jag Audiobus.
      Jag gillar att kombinera, men brukar ej kombinera DAW's med varandra.

      Tack, det var en bra förklaring. Det finns ju ingen "one app to rule them all" :)

    I’m having troubles trying to get samples in Bilbao.. I’m using wav files but still won’t work. What I’m I doing wrong?

  • @perrypelican9476
    @perrypelican9476 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I don't get why you need another London to do the side chain. Why not use just the one that is not muted? Please explain. I always like tricks. Thanks for the video. I like videos like this one and any that you show how you do things. Will there b very because way to get to the old soundestroom videos and all that stuff? Why not just make the old Web site available as it was the day it closed? That would do it.

    • @strooomy5592
      @strooomy5592 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Perry Pelican I'm guessing it's because the one that isn't muted also has lots of other drums on it, not just bass 👍

    • @Arperture
      @Arperture 8 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      The Side-chain function ducks the effected audio based on whatever is input from the sending track. If track one is sending all of the drum parts to the sidechain unit, you will hear non-stop ducking and it will basically sound like garbage.

    • @JakobHaq
      @JakobHaq  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Stroom beam and chasingDogma got it spot on regarding the side-chain. Even if I filter of the higher frequencies of the incoming audio stream, there's still going to be "mud"
      In the channel that the side-chain is monitoring.
      All of the old videos that I made is here on my channel. Have always been here since I started making them. Same with Dougs videos, they're on his channel.
      All the "stuff" that I've made and given away in the past will become available in the future. Can't say when, just that I'm working on it.
      As for a site, I don't own the old thesoundtestroom site so I can't answer any questions on the matter. You'll have to ask Doug Woods.
      I don't want to run a site neither. It's my choice and I stand firmly by it. I want to focus on making videos nothing else. Only reason to have a site is to make money from apps, add revenue or writing articles and stuff like that. There's no site needed for them as they can be viewed here where I upload them.
