  • I had to get something more reliable than our 99 Explorer, the 2020 Explorer ST does all the things.

I love my 23" now that we figured out what that annoying clunk was coming from the front end. It took two trips to the dealership and a loaner car, but I got it back and while they were removing the right front strut for replacement they noticed the upper bearing had separated. So they installed a new RF strut, upper bearing, strut mount, and did an alignment.
Reading through the invoice it says “Found SSM 52405 for front strut noise and vehicle falls within build date of SSM criteria" So Ford is aware of this issue somewhere along the line. I know a lot of folks are experiencing this same issue and no one seemed to have a solution I could find. Except that the dealerships were telling them it was normal. DON'T buy that crap if yours is making what sounds like a strut or ball joint noise from the front end!!
This SUV runs like a bat out of hell, especially in sport mode. It has a stiff ride and handles like a go cart instead of a 4600lb SUV. I'm doing the ST Experience in Asheville next month and can't wait to run the piss outta one these that I don't have to worry about fixing later ;)

I’m getting some clunks somewhere but I’m upto 86,000 miles now. It’s going to the dealer in two weeks for a trans issue and the normal bad cats. I’m still loving this thing and it’s worth every penny. Thanks for watching!!

@@GlovedUpGarage Mine will be long gone before 86K, but it is more fun to drive than anything else I have ever owned.

If you didn't pull the trigger on the floor mats yet, go with the Tuxmats. They are the best of all the options.

I do have a Ford Extended service plan. I was explaining this to a friend the other day. This is a brand new platform that was launched months before the world changed. They didn’t have the time or ability to work out the bugs like previous platforms. Yes, 5 years later they should have it nearly perfect with recalls and TSB’s. I’m still thrilled with mine. 1 year and 22,000 miles later it still makes me happy to drive it. Thanks for watching!!

Thanks for the tour sir (of the vehicle and cool location). Great job on your new purchase, you do deserve it bro! Love your humbleness. It is super fancy for sure. My newest vehicle is my 07 Grand Marquis daily other than that I have my 07 M109RBoulevard for the nice sunny day rides here in FL, the 03 Marauder and the girlfriend has her 03 Corolla.Gotta love not having a car payment in 15+ years. I'm 6-1 and 350 lbs, and squeeze into her Corolla. How's the room in the Explorer? Loved my parents early 2000s Explorer. (I recommend TH-cam channel FordTechMakuloco, a former Ford mechanic if you haven't ran across him yet. Great advice, tips, and tricks!)

You’re most welcome, thanks for watching! I will miss the funds for the payment each month but I think it’s worth it. The Panthers are hard to beat and it sounds like you have a nice fleet of them. I have watched several of his videos through the years. He’s an amazing tech that explains all the details. Definitely saved me a lot of time and money by watching his videos

Congratulations on the new car! Do these new cars come with dash cams? Also, what kind of service it requires (ATF, differential fluid, etc.?). It would be nice to see how it is done.

Thank you! It has a rain sensor and radar for the cruise control but no dash cam yet. I wouldn’t mind getting one for emergency responses. I haven’t checked on all the fluid services yet, but it should be due for some very soon with 60000 miles on it. I’ll post those up in the future. Thanks for watching!!

I just bought a 2015 PIU of an auction. Not as nice as yours and is missing a second row seats. But should be a nice project.
