Hubbard should officially approve this one. Completely amazing performance. At times, better quality than the original, because of the organicness, which makes it more disco.
I am beyond pleased this exists, you played it, and you play so well. MY gosh I used to finish this game just to hear this music (in the 80's) and then I'd leave the game running on my computer until it was hot enough to fry eggs just so I could hear the music over and over again (since this extended version only played when you finished the game) thank you thank you from a former kid in Brooklyn.
This extended tune was also to hear and listen to right from the start of the game. I remember hitting F5 or F7 to remove the Sound effects to record this tune properly to a tape recorder holding a mic to the Speaker of the TV Set ;)
Da sound masta playing masta song on masta sound device! I really want this device at home... Love C64 and composing gods of thist era! These have changed my life early... ;-)
This is awesome. Rob Hubbard is the original author of this piece. But the inspiration came from a beautiful melody by Ryuichi Sakamoto, who died today . Rest in Peace.
Great performance!! Just remembered my first stage loading Internat Karate and it's fantastic music hitting my hears and brain!! Well Done!! and great keyboard setup! (could u tell more about the chipophone setup ?) Yeah second part rulezzzzzzz !!! ;-)
This is the blood rushing through my veins. It's the essence of my life. I'm not even kidding.. And I agree so with you. I will really try to convey this to the younger nerds and geeks and of course kids in general, that I meet.
The skill and fun in this are amazing! There are clearly many more themes from the 8-bit era that just wait to be performed by you, lft! (I'm thinking of "Monty on the Run" :D) I really love how the electronics behind this come together with the great musicianship. The hardware, the software and the skill to play that thing - you have it!
People, this guy is Linus Akesson and he is genius. Synthesizer is made on ATmega chip, and Linus coded the firmware and the synthesizer's body is the old electrical organ. Also he has more interesting videos about chiptune. For me he is something like chiptune Aphex Twin.
Sounds brilliant! Well done mate! I don't know this song but it sounds remarkably similar to Merry Christmas Mr Lawrence by Ryuichi Sakamoto of Yellow Magic Orchestra.
the shame of this is,...there will be very few people who are 1) OLD enough to know where this comes from too, and 2) who actually ever played this great game along to such a great sound track for its time :) ... cheers to all who know this for what it is ,,,
International Karate was of the first computer games I ever played. It was hypnotic. Now I understand it was the music.
Hubbard should officially approve this one. Completely amazing performance. At times, better quality than the original, because of the organicness, which makes it more disco.
two melodies at the same time wow, very high level sir!
Absolutely brilliant. Thoroughly enjoyed the whole piece, well done for playing such a difficult tune!!!!
Fantastica esecuzione in tempo reale! Bravissimo.
Che bei ricordi...
grazie a te, Rob Hubbard e naturalmente al Commodore 64.
It is a timeless piece with incredible performance. Awesome ! Thank you !

Thank you for creating the chipophone!
Huge respect for doing the whole thing and not just the first part!
I thought he might not even attempt the second bit, but he did and walked it lol
Even part 3 @ 9:08
Amazing. Brings back moods and memories.
I don't know what was best playing the game or just listing to you playing the track.

Da sound masta playing masta song on masta sound device! I really want this device at home... Love C64 and composing gods of thist era! These have changed my life early... ;-)
I loved my C64, had it from age 3, I can picture this game just by listening to this awesome tune
I like the part where he's playing chipophone!
What amazing soundwaves, one of my favorite tracks ever too!
Wow!!! How have this incredible cover passed me for so long? You are amazing. Thanks for the cover!
The theme reminds me on "Merry Christmas, Mr. Lawrence".
Because Rob Hubbard was "inspired" by that one.
Now this is something I could not do in a thousand years... Unbelievable... WOW!!!
no puedo entender como genios como este no tienen mas visualizaciones y mas suscriptores
De acuerdo. Este tipo es impresionante.
This tune is still marvellous, thanks.
Amazing music, it reminds me of my first c64 back in the 80's. Ohh..... It was soooo future!!!! :)
This tune reminds me of 3.5" floppies. Awesome work!
Oh, deary deary me. Just spectacular. My mind is fried.
This is truly amazing. Greetings from the Netherlands. Osu.
Amazing playing, very talented player, love these old C64 tunes, well done!
This is awesome. Rob Hubbard is the original author of this piece. But the inspiration came from a beautiful melody by Ryuichi Sakamoto, who died today . Rest in Peace.
You have so much talent... and I have so little. Thank you for these videos!! You are Awesome!

And I agree so with you. I will really try to convey this to the younger nerds and geeks and of course kids in general, that I meet.
awesome! really awesome I am Speechless!!!!!!
This is awesome! I am in awe at the pure flexibility of this instrument!
Also, I would love to see Jonathan Dunn;s 'Robocop' theme performed.
What a legend for doing this, exact likeness, love to hear more like last ninja and Monty on the run
The skill and fun in this are amazing! There are clearly many more themes from the 8-bit era that just wait to be performed by you, lft! (I'm thinking of "Monty on the Run" :D)
I really love how the electronics behind this come together with the great musicianship. The hardware, the software and the skill to play that thing - you have it!
you are just amazing. and a genius aswell its not easy to built that instrument
Not having played the game does not subtract from the appreciation of the music or the strength of the score. Just let the music speak :)
Keeping the scene alive! Thanks for That!
Another blinder! Brilliant
I'm still going to ask for my request of either Knuckle Busters or Parallax :-)
I dare say this organ probably has more plays on it after the conversion than it ever did before. :)
I'm sure Hubbard would be proud if he saw this.
Wow, this must have taken ages to learn. It sounds awesome.
no music sheet how could you even remember all the melodies, its really hard to memorize all the nuances
This is probably the best video on TH-cam
Amazing work. So authentic.
Superb, just how i remember it
Excellent!
Was für ein cooler Bass.*lächel* bum bum groove jeärrrr…

International Karate Master on Chipophone
Linus! You are a true human GOD of commodore 64 sound chip!
@Rubberfishy Were in the process of building a four rank 'pipe' organ using SID chips to generate the tones.
@nosense82 No, I used a C compiler.
you have very good coordination between your hands! it is hard to play this. thanks for uploading!
Superb!
You are really talented wish i could play like you.
This one I liked a lot.
my childhood right there..
If you'd make an album , I'd buy it for sure!!!
Regards from a great fan from Denmark!!!
Sounds brilliant! Well done mate! I don't know this song but it sounds remarkably similar to Merry Christmas Mr Lawrence by Ryuichi Sakamoto of Yellow Magic Orchestra.
You know, I'd love to hear some famous classical music on the Chipophone, in the same way classical music is awesome in chiptunes
This is awesome in too many ways
This is one of the games I would load just to hear the music.
Great job as always, Linus!
absolutely epic
I'm lost for words!!!
