The thing I love about CCR's instrumentals is they play this long enjoyable instrumental and build into this grand crescendo only to slip right back into this groovy instrumental. Dare I say edging.
This guy is just amazing. Best version I've heard, but then his voice fits this song perfectly. They weren't together long enough for me. John put a spell on a lot of us back in the day. Amazing singer!
Screaming Jay Hawkins enjoyed this version so much he said CCR "owns the song". This is probably my favorite of theirs tho they had at least a dozen very good songs some were 🔥🔥🔥 FIRE: Up Around the Bend, Traveling Band The Nightime is the Right Time and even Commotion. I'm listening to music over 60 yrs their still my favorite band ever. Best of success on yr channel
Ah......when my older brother came back from Viet Nam, he gave my brothers a couple of dollars to go buy the Creedence Clearwater Revival albums at the local record store...they were played.... a LOT. He especially liked "Run Through the Jungle" as it was pretty much what he did over there for a year. Suffers badly from PTSD all these decades later.
The first CCR song I heard and I immediately liked them! My father let me listen to it. 30 years ago I also recommend Angelina Jordan's version to you!
This is one of the best versions of this song. CCR has always been one of my favorites. John Fogerty has one of the most unique & recognizable voices around. They don't have a bad song! Huge list of hits! "I Heard It Through The Grapevine", "Proud Mary", "Fortunate Son", "Down On The Corner", "Green River", "The Midnight Special", "Susie Q", "Born On The Bayou", "Travelin' Band", "Run Through The Jungle", "Sweet Hitchhiker", "Bad Moon Rising" etc.
It brings out thoughts of Woodstock and The Vietnam War. Another great one, by CCR, during this same time is Run Through the Jungle. We should give that a try on your channel next.
I would love to see what you thing of the warning - evolve. They are 3 sister frome Mexico that went viral super young with cover music. But their original stuff is amazing.
I seen “Reaction” videos presented by young ladies who flat rejected this song. I concluded it’s because of the Othello like lyrics. This was one of their first hits. So spontaneous. Maybe turned out so good because they didn’t know what they were doing or maybe heard Melchior spilling out his guts??
It's effortless. Fogerty is right up there with Staley and Cornell, etc, with vocal power, just in a slightly different way. Maybe I shouldn't say vocal power as much as I should say vocal ability. They all sound fantastic in their own way.
Have you ever listened to Swallow the Sun ? I think it would be interesting, their melodies and lyrics are so deep, the voice is so unique. I wish you could try to listen to it, any song deserves attention

Imagine this as a Doors song with Jim Morrison singing it, different type of voice obviously, but to me, this is such a quintessential Doors song.

Love this song. It's simple lyrically but that's okay. It conveys precisely what it has to.
yeah , its a cover
Man he could sing

He's a one of a kind. Still touring and still amazing! Stunning guitars and drums!
Played this over and over and over when CCR released it.

CCR is one of those bands I have both heard too much and not enough.
CCR performing this at the Royal Albert Hall is impressive, John also plays this guitar solo.
CCR did not perform I Put a Spell on You, in London
CCR were masters of New Orleans style blues/rock. Check out Run Through The Jungle. John Fogerty was and is a guitar genius, even at age 75.
Yeah, great❣
oh meus quinze anos...

Love Screamin' Jay's version, too!

The Woodstock version. 🙌🏻👍🏻

The guitar solo in this is very reminiscent of Robbie Krieger, in fact this could easily be a Doors song.
👏👏👍🥰😍🤩❤️🇨🇦
Love John Fogerty!!!

Man his voice just wants me to give up singing because hes just so good i sound like a dying cat in comparison

❤❤❤❤JOHN FOGERTY GOING ON TOUR 2024 LOOK IT UP.
😂😂😂😂THIS WAS LIVE AT WOODSTOCK 1969...
Talking about Beatles-esque - I Ctually sounded a bit like The Animals.
To me, it sounds very much like the Doors.
Have you never reacted to Angelina Jordan’s version of this recorded in-studio live when she was 9 years old??!!
It’ll straighten your hair!
Excellent version, but my favorite is Tim Curry singing in the acoustics of a huge empty mall.
Marilyn Manson does a pretty good cover of this song as well.
Who cares about his version? Trust me, listen to the Diamanda Galas version.
