    I used to live in Kuwait from 2004 till 2014, it is a place that originally looks very strange and hard to accept but once you get to know it, it is a great country. I worked in the aviation field, Kuwait city is a major hub to fly to Far East and the rest of the Middle East. The purchasing power of the Kuwaiti dinar is one of the best in the world, so it is quite useful to work there for few years, rents and services are quite overrated though. Love to Kuwait!😊

    Hi Gabriel, beautiful video, and discussion about the sad situation of politics revolving around the Gaza Strip it shows humanity hasn't learned of how to deal with these issues there should be some compromise for people to get along and resolved past differences to move forward untie and find commonality instead of using conflict to resolve issues. Hopefully, there will be a peaceful solution to these problems, or the world will find itself in a greater conflict with more battles and more countries involved in war.

    • @vaultkeeper2
      @vaultkeeper2 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      I don't think so. Australia, the Maldives and Fiji absolutely isn't cheap to go to! My impression is that he prioritize safety though, a large portion of those 100 odd countries he still hasn't been to are from somewhat to very dangerous. Not all of them, but many for sure. Alot of them also require pre-arrival visa which can take weeks to months and alot of planning to get, not very convenient for a full time travel vlogger.

    • @normanlee31
      @normanlee31 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@vaultkeeper2 there are some that are certainly too dangerous, but I wouldn't say more than maybe 20 at the most! Still leaves about 80. He hasn't been to any of the African countries south of the Sahara or all of South America or even Central America apart from Mexico and maybe Costa Rica! And some like the Phillipines he posted a few grainy one minute clips from about 12 years ago; he just needs to be a bit more imaginative!

    • @vaultkeeper2
      @vaultkeeper2 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      @@normanlee31 And what about pre-arrival visa which applies to to a huge portion of countries in Africa? Takes weeks to months to get, as I said not very convenient for a full time travel vlogger. As he went to Australia and Fiji I personally don't think cost is a factor. But yes for sure, Namibia, the Solomon Islands or Vanuatu would be a very interesting watch.

    Interesting country, nice to see your videos from there. It has the strongest currency (with the highest value per base unit) in the world, the Kuwaiti dinar - is it expensive there because of that? It is the only country in the world where Emir is leading the country (although UAE are emirates, they are ruled by president of all 7 emirates) and although it is a small country in size, it has even the 10% of all estimated oil reserves in the world (that's why it was important for Iraq and the USA in the past).
    When you said that you are going to the Middle East (before one of former USSR states), I firstly thought that you are going to Qatar, but I believe it is more complicated with the visa system there than in Kuwait. I am also looking forward for your next destination, I believe it is going to be interesting as former USSR destinations are normally much underrated by travel vloggers (except for Uzbekistan that is a hit among them).

    I have visited all GCC countries. Yes all are super safe and similar architecture appearance etc with exception of Oman and of course Saudi Arabia. Very welcoming countries for British and clearly Americans too. OBVIOUSLY. Kuwait is nice because it gets few tourists and there are interesting things to see outside the city. Like the road to Iraq border passing Mutla Ridge and the swamps leading into the Marshes where Tigris /Euphrates rivers enter the sea.Mesopotamia! And Failaka Island offshore-ancient civilisation. Also the road to Saudi Arabia in the South(Dammam side) is interesting with orchards growing fruits and veges and many camels/goats. In winter you will see many large tents for winter camping. Sadly the Kuwaitis are mainly sedentary now as you saw. 70 percent of the population is foreign by the way as in all GCC countries. In UAE it is 88 percent I believe!, But most friendly. I agree that western countries have become unsafe over time. The security measures seem to be inadequate and a general lack of control in urban areas is worrying in the West

    As an American that fell in love with the Middle East, I had the pleasure of visiting Kuwait in 2019. Although it's probably the least favorite of the Middle Eastern countries I've visited, I did enjoy visiting the Kuwait National Museum and the Kuwait Towers. As for unmarried couples not being allowed in the same hotel room, I can attest this actually happened to me when traveling with a friend in Tangier, Morocco. It's always a possibility in Muslim countries; therefore, one must confirm with the specific accommodation site prior to booking.

      @@GabrielTravelerVideos It all started as i was on the way to the airport in Sweden to go to Lebanon on saturday morning. The fighting on the Lebanon/Israel border is nothing new. I will stay here for a week as planned as it looks now. If it spreads in to Lebanon then it is a whole other thing and a good reason to leave. Nobody knows at this point in time. Heading for Baalbek tomorrow. So far Lebanon has been great!

    Hi Gabriel. Can you please share how much Kuwait charged visa on arrival for US citizens? I saw conflicting information online; some said it's 3 KWD; Kuwait embassy in the US said $150. US Department of State said it's free. I think 3 Kuwaiti Dinars at the airport sounds about right but want to confirm given you just visited Kuwait last month. Thanks.
