@@GGMentor I've been using a Light Saber on Amazons switch weapons slot for years, When combined with a Thundergod's Vigor{and the right gear}she's immune to lightning attacks from Gloams,Burning Souls and even Diablo's lightning hose attacks. My clan The Amazon Basin calls this build the Sword Maidens Build. And whilst it doesn't have the most damage ever because it only uses normal attacks Baals mana depletion attacks don't keep her from attacking him either😉 PS Later on I switch to the Azurewrath, I was even able to help my best friend/Clan Mate when an elite pack of ghosts in the Arcane Sanctuary killed his Barbarian over and over
Super Dope Weapon. Pair it with Crescent Moon Sword for the -enemy lightning res and the Static Field procs and you can kill most everything in the game with relative ease as a Frenzy Barb.
Imagine the Act 5 merc if they actually add the dual wielding merc in patch 2.4 could be interesting. Crescent moon, Lightsabre, Dream helm, Treachery Fortitude or Jewelers Archon Plate of the Whale with 5/5 light facets. Maybe socket the Lightsabre with an AMN for a bit of leech? Not much survivability but still interesting.
these and the runeword videos are very insightful. There seems to be so many possibilities with a lot of items I never realize. I think a series covering all the sets in this sort of detail would be very interesting too. I'd love to hear what your thoughts are on certain sets and using them while progressing a character or even end game. EDIT: parking lot kitty looks soo happy to have a home...kudos to you =)

I'd love to see a spotlight on Gimmershred at some point. Very underrated weapon that works phenomenally well with a Conviction Zealot Paladin. Thing just shreds though pretty much everything and if you can make a Pride Runeword for your A2 NM Offensive merc, having Conviction, Might, and Concentration all going at once results in some CRAZY damage.
I was just thinking the same thing it doesn't do as well on a fanaticism one but I can only imagine how good it is on a conviction paladin I just can't use it on my fanaticism one because I died too fast to trav because I'm not getting enough leech...gimmer on a conviction pally with a faith Merc would prob b insane, would say a Merc with infinity and might and a fanat zealer but I think the might aura wouldn't be worth it because the gimmershred benefits so much from ele dmg...maybe a holy freeze merc with conviction and a fanat zealer...either way possibly the best elemental damage weapon available... I also suggest Schaefer's if you haven't yet I love it with treach for the static field procs

I Use this on my smiter til I get grief. I did my first uber last night with lightsabre and got through it in about 2 or 3 minutes. Dropped a not so great Btorch but point is I'm happy I can do ubers and lightsabre has been a very reliable weapon for me personally
having an indestructible weapon can make it handy for a smiter. when running ladder you can rely on your shield but need something useful if in zeal mode that will survive the beating it will take on its durability. 10 - 30 damage will effect kick and smite base damage
Literally got one of these off Hell Mephisto while watching this video, lol. Was hoping for the much rarer Azurewrath, but this will be a handy swap weapon for the Lightning absorb.
The Lightsaber is a really cool weapon but, sadly, the damage is too low in my opinion. I would recommend to buff the weapon that it can also drop als an ethereal weapon and make this unique for a phase blade. The ethereal feature would also fit perfectly to the reference the Lightsaber represents.
With any wisp ring(15-20% light absorb) it gives the maximum possible lighting absorb 40%. Add the Thundergod Vigor belt with 20 flat lighting absorb and 10% extra maximum light resist. 85% resist - only 15% of lighting damage, then cut of 80% more which is 12% extra absolute reduction. Thus only 3% could damage you and if 3% < 40 it would be completely absorbed by TB. Thus you would be immune to any lighting attack with the magnitude smaller than 4000\3=1333. You should be immune to any uber-mefisto lighting attack not saying ordinary or even aura-buffed gloams. Regardless of number of thos gloams since each bolt or missle would be absorbed on the individual bases. Actually you probably don't need this expensive wisp ring since 25% absorb would cut 15% to 7.5%=40 and you could still absorb anything less that 533 so you still should be able to block even uber-mefisto bolts.
I run grandfather and lightsabre on my frenzy barb with the phase blade in my main. I cut through phys immune so easily that the barb is my main for nilathak key runs. Such a breeze
I wonder if the chain lightning is related to lightsabers deflecting blaster shots. Lightning absorb because the Emperor shot lighting at Luke? Light Radius for the light side. Mana per hit because of the Force? I dunno. I was just looking for how the developers might have been having fun with it.
This weapon could have been so much cooler to use if the proc actually did some damage. Maybe -20 to enemy light resist? Or at least make it trigger bit more often, like 15%.
Thanks! That wasn't all I lost on that occasion. Granted I was in early/mid act 5 NM, I also lost A Grim's Burning Scythe, a fal rune (my highest at the time), and Tal's amulet. The game apologized and gave me an ist rune during the rescue Anya quest. Finally got another Tal's amulet 2 days ago.

I do not think ctc spell would benefit from synergy as of current, I remember it was able back in 1.11, but they have fixed it since 1.12. Lightning mastery would still work tho
@@GGMentor are you referring to the tyrant club enhance charge? Or enhanced cast by ctc? Fire mastery will increase everything that deals fire damage, that one works for sure, and it will applied fire increase twice on melee attacks, but as warmth synergy should only work for the enhance charge not ctc enhance as it was a bug that was fixed in 1.12....I may have to double check on that.
@@kisekinecro lava gout is used in the testing. I have also tested this with clear results on bone spear using brand. 100% ctc with full bonespear synergies. There is a video up if you want to see it I also have another video up with an elemental druid using tornado and twister procs while in wolf form
My 1 point Zerk and whirlwind barb smashes everything in 1 hit with this as a main hand, grief surprisingly does less. Been great fun, I don't remember it being so insanely powerful.

I agree, but the interesting thing about these procs is they do obtain synergy bonuses from the characters who own those spells. I have been able to create several very interesting characters around things like this. My twister/tornado werewolf druid, a bonespear brand bow necromancer, and more. I also created an entire Amazon around as many ctc procs as possible and she was able to reliably clear hell p8. Procs are more interesting than they seem.
Are you sure about the name and implied meaning because aren't lightsabers spelled "er" and this one is spelled "re" . It's always crossed me funny when people call it lightsaber it's more like a lightsabrie. As always I could be wrong
I would imagine sabre is the British way of pronouncing, Saber is the American way....same as centre and center, both pronoun the same but one is British spelling and one is US spelling.

And as usual, WW Barb won't proc the chain lightning effect. So annoying.

I have tested it using verifiable means.
I.e. enchant on a weapon + warmth synergy which clearly shows it's damage increases without fire mastery.
