Ok as we know AMS2 has just been updated to V1.6 and this may bring an issue or two when adding mods, my advice is to make sure you check the links to the app and the mods themselves in the description to get hold of the latest V1.6 versions but bear in mind it might take a bit of time for the the devs to get things updated. Also please remember to make sure you install the modding app into your AMS2 root folder !
Haven't booted the game up yet to test it, but your explanation and run through helped me get through this much easier than anyone else's. I'm brand new to computer modding and such so it helps a lot, thanks!
Thanks mate and I have just used the very steps shown in this video to add the new DTMs to AMS2 so you should be good to go when you next fire up AMS2.
Great to hear you found my guide useful mate and i am trying to wait patiently for the new build and still hope we will see it before the end of 2024 !
Fantastic video and so good to see that the latest version of Content Manager works like this. I just reinstalled some of my Thunderflash mods and the VRC Auriel but yep, I have an issue. (I don't expect you to have an answer on this) but as the mod installs, the game crashes back to the desktop. I noticed that CM pulled my old Thunderflash mods into it automatically and that may be the reason. I'll need to play with it and see.
Thanks mate i appreciate that and thank you for the work you do bringing new content for us to enjoy into AMS2. I am not that technically minded so cant be of much help apart from the basics ! I am waiting to seeing what happens when AMS2 v1.6 drops and what impact that has on both CM and the mods. I don't want to go without my JGTC cars !
After doing everything step by step, following this guide (which is pretty good!), my game crashes when trying to start it. Steam noticed a missing file and is now validation and reinstalling AMS2. Is this because of newer versions of the game? any advise?
With each AMS2 update it can bring issues with mods not working it seems. The best bet is to keep an eye on Thunder Flashes blog as he posts very quickly after each new update with news about his mods and quickly uploads new versions.
thank u very much man .today i am frustated why mods not working, then after searching internet,i found ur video and correct my mistake by installing contentmanager in ams2 root folder
Hello! Great channel! I just have a question- How to get engine sounds to work? I can get everything else working properly except engine sounds on mod cars. Any help would be appreciated, thanks! And great channel!
The sound issue maybe due to a new AMS2 build which can sometimes break mods. I would keep an eye on the Thunder Flash website, listed in the description, as he often updates this site with any issues with mods after new builds and quickly issues fixes to his mods so they work again.
nicely put ... nice and simple! ... sometimes although it might be 'easy' ... without an idiots guide it often leads to much hair pulling ... i have been for many years bald ! lol
Thank you I appreciate that feedback and I am often in the same boat needed things explained in a simple step by step manner and that’s what I tried to do in this video mate.
Seems like engine sounds disappear in non-official mods. Can you confirm that? I've installed IndyCar mod and engine sounds disappear. Is there any way to correct that?
I believe it’s a game of keep up as each time Reiza update the sim the modding teams need to update their mods and as such they can be a bit of lag and times when mods may not work correctly and sound issues seems to be the major issues with each update. I am not able to double check this at the moment as I can’t get on my rig for a bit but your best bet is to keep checking the places you get your mods from to see if there any updates available.
All i can suggest is a complete reinstall of the app and mods to see if that helps using the latest versions, I have not had any errors using either the app or mods so don't really have any more help to offer, sorry.
@@taxi615 yes you do still run AMS2 as per normal using the original launcher as for the question about will it work on the beta version I don’t know as I haven’t tried it myself. Sorry.
The only one to actually show the route file destination...great... but for me, no mater where I put it, it gives me a msg of "cannot find the game directory" its getting quite annoying. I have 2 drives for games 1 hdd and 1 ssd... does this need to go where STEAM is installed directly too or not , as AMS2 is on ssd which steam is not, it just reads from it, from another drive. confused yet ? ha
Thanks mate and this app needs to be installed into the root AMS2 folder no matter where that is on your system, I am just lazy and all my sims from Steam are just in their default folder.
@SimRigRacing Actually, this doesn't need to go in the AMS2 sub file... I couldn't get it to work at all... I've since been told to install it to C: drive an on desktop (Steam and all the items are not installed on C) AND it works perfectly...!!! Maybe just down to not having Steam in C: caused me issues ?? Happy days
@@puremad1 mate thanks for the update on how to get this app working if you have this sim installed in a different location from the default location, it will be a great help to those in the same position.
@@WayneYelverton333 first off make sure you have the very latest versions of the app and the mods, these can change quite regularly, and see if that helps. This is not an issue I have experienced but these steps have helped others.
Mate just use the link to the Over Take website in the description and you will find Content manager app which is free to use with the option to donate to the creator if you want to.
As with all modding there can be the odd issue with graphics or physics. All I can add is that make sure you have the latest version of the content manager app and the latest version of the track and try reinstalling both to see if that’s helps.
I cannot download any mods, got cm, go to thunder flash, click on the mod, takes me to click to download, do that, starts downloading then at the end it says failed network issue, any help
I double checked via the Crome browser and did not encounter an issues. Might be worth refreshing the page, clearing out cookies or try another browser to see if that helps mate.
It may well be an issue with a recent AMS2 update causing mods and modding software to not work correctly. It’s always worth double checking you have the latest version of the modding software and mods. Although with v1.6 of AMS2 on the horizon the devs of mods maybe be waiting to see what this new build breaks and wait to release any updates until after it lands, so it might be a bit of a waiting game for the time being.
Please make sure you have the latest version of the AMS2 content manager app and then try reinstalling the app and as long as it’s in the AMS2 root folder you should be good to go mate. I had this the first time I installed the app and I found it was because it wasn’t in the root folder for AMS2 but it’s been fine since.
I followed all of the steps but when I try to open the CM it says "Cannot find game directory" even though when I go to "search file location" it brings me right to the root folder of AM2, how can I fix that?
I recently had to reinstall this app for adding mods to AMS2 after a fresh Windows install and followed these steps and it worked first time out. The most important step is installing this app into the AMS2 root folder to make sure it works correctly. If that step is done right it should just work mate.
@@TheProvelousMan I have played around with the app and mods at my end but replicate your issue so i have also hit a brick wall in terms of any extra help i can offer I'm afraid.
