George Galloway stood his ground perfectly. He bore no responsibility for the rise of antisemitism at the time. All he's ever done is legitimately criticize the repressive actions of the state of Israel toward the Palestinian people. When he stated Israel is an apartheid state, he told the truth. Amnesty International, an entirely independent organization, published a report in which it stated Israel practices apartheid. He's absolutely right to call out the Islamophobia that has run rampant in the West ever since 9/11, and of which there's far more than antisemitism; however, neither can be tolerated and are both hate crimes. He's also drawn a very important distinction between the state of Israel and Judaism. One is a state and the other is a religion. Israel and Judaism have never been one and the same.

And for engaging in, and indulging others’ use of, vile rhetoric that might have garnered a few admiring clicks on the Israeli right but could see Israel and Jews around the world slapped with a new badge of shame." Is it me, or was Question Time far more thought provoking & 'theatrical' when Dimbleby was Chairman ? (It certainly was when Robin Day was in the chair !) ~ The existing format with Fiona Bruce is now a largely predictable 'bore fest' & stereotypical of the direction in which the BBC have taken such broadcast's.
