You said "ran both positive to one side" and the other 2 to the other terminal....not ever doing this before,,,i wanted to understand exactly what to do since i purchased the same cut-off device. So i need to run both positives to onside and both negatives to other side...since i also have two batteries correct?/

Sure, regardless of how many batteries you have the switch has 2 nuts or bolts inside, take the positive terminal off the battery and connect to one of the nuts on the switch, then take your short extension wire I picked up from the auto parts store and run it to the positive terminal on your battery. You know have a light switch type of interruption in your positive line that cuts power when you turn it off.

I wish you had shown us how you installed it on the frame. Did you screw or glue it to the frame?

Just 2 self tapping screws that screw into the frame, as simple as hanging a paper towel holder.

I think I have the same switch as yours. How do I know where the wires go to which of the two connections?

Doesn’t matter. One on one, then the other on the other one. There are two lugs in the switch. One from the battery and the other one leading on into the trailer on the other.
Doesn’t matter which one you put on either lug. As long as they aren’t on the same one.

Dan - I was thinking that but I wasn’t sure enough to carry on with the job. Thanks for the reply :)

Why cut off the positive why not the negative the positive is more of a hazard

That is exactly why you would not want to allow any positive supply to continuously supply inside the trailer, it is the most hazard compared to negative.
Think about your house wiring, the positive supply is always cut to stop power going to the lights not the negative or neutral. It’s safer and better to cut the most hazardous supply.

Way to many wires on that setup...... 3 cables is enuff. 1 to neg/neg.... 1 pos/pos then the switch between neg from the camper to the battery and camper positive to positive

That would not be the proper way to wire camper batteries for dual batteries.
