    I know someone who had one of these. Used it well into the late 90s before replacing it. Always had good things to say about it.

      That's a prety good run for a combine of this size, especially one that was likely being used every year.

    IH did hold the market for harvesting for some time. It wasn't until the 80s that any other brands really caught up, or passed them for harvesting technology.

      Yeah, early on, John Deere and IH had a gentleman's agreement. John Deere stayed out of harvesting, and IH stayed out of tillage. It wasn't until the mid 80s when they caught up with each other in their respective fields.

      Yeah, the design was certainly ahead of its time. made them look contemporary with combines a generation newer than them.
