Can't wait to be able to purchase one of these for our Element by far the best roof rack I've seen for the element hands down.

I have a 2004 Honda Element with OEM roof racks. There is a slight play in the cross bar going into the tower that attaches to the Element. The tower itself is not loose at all but I can move the cross bar a little. So there is a rattling noise when I drive over 40 mph.
Is there any way to fix this so there is no play where the crossbar enters the tower so I can get the rattling to stop?

I had the same issue couldn't find a solution. I ended up getting new bars that can hold the weight for our roof top tent. Check out ANTS Parts on Amazon it was $120 and they look just like the OEM bars but can hold much more weight.

Yes! I had the same issue. Underneath the part of the mount tower where the crossbar goes in, there is a screw that pushes it up toward the top of the slot. I tried to get to it while it was still mounted, and it's near impossible. Thanks to this video you can easily remove the whole shebang, turn it over and get to the screws that way.

@@ednor59 I had that screw tightened by the Honda dealer (no charge) and they got it pretty tight but now the screw has loosened again and I am getting that rattling noise.
      Did yours loosen up again?
Do you think I need to replace the screw?

@@swaha55 I found there is just no way to tighten it effectively without taking the mounts off and turning the bars upside down so you can get to the screws. Could be that you do have to replace them. One out of four on mine didn't match - clearly had been replaced.

@@ednor59 do you know what size socket you need to tighten the bolts?
      Did you replace your bolts?
A Honda dealer said it could be that the threads are stripped.
