I own this model. It's the first acoustic guitar I've ordered online. I was very concerned that I might not like the sound or playability. But that being said, l love it! It's my favorite acoustic guitar I've ever owned. The intonation was also very good, better than a $1,600.00 Taylor 224 dlx koala I used to own. I would buy a second one tomorrow if it we're stolen today.
Merci Thomann !!!!!!!!
I bought this guitar after I saw a demo video by Jonathan Koh. The construction and choice-woods are impeccable. I've only needed to tweak with the action for a while, including raise the nut groove on the high E (took me a while to figure out the buzz came from there). AND, replaced the tuners for a higher end set. The ones that come with it might look nice and (golden) shiny, but don't stay in tune. If Thomann added Grovers to this guitar I'd pay the extra money. Having said all that, the sound is incredibly wholsome and I won't part with it.
@@DanieleGiannattasio You're absolutely right! That's why I learned to do my own set-up years ago, bridges and / or nuts. As far as the tuners I can understand. My model had been built in '21, a long time without the tuners being turned. Cheers.

Thanks! It's hard to say because on that one I changed strings and set it up a little better, this one still had factory strings on and a high action. So that one felt better, not much bass, the entire frequency spectrum seemed well balanced and recorded very well (not bright, not bassy). This one sounded different but not bad, due to the aforementioned reasons I can't really tell how they compare but I preferred the koa one. This one sounded "duller" but I'm sure changing strings would have made a big difference. If you can, try both. It's very subjective.
Take a look at the neck and adjust the truss rod to straighten it, then you'll have to sand the bridge to lower the action. I suggest you do a little research on how to set up an acoustic guitar or take it to a luthier.
Thanks, this was recorded with both mics pointing at where the neck meets the body, it doesn't look like that due to the position of the camera. They are also actually pretty close to the guitar, about 20-25 cm (a little over 8 inches). More than that and they would have picked up too much of the room sound (which is untreated and not particularly good sounding).
Nice clear in focus view of the microphone in every shot. Unfortunately apart from the headstock the guitar was out of focus most of the time. Nice sound though!
lol thanks, that's obviously done on purpose, it's called "shallow depth of field". I'd say the first 7 frets are quite in focus and the mic is placed on that same "plane of focus" (not on purpose), you can see the entire guitar in focus in other parts of the video. That's a very good looking microphone though :)
Sounds nice through an extravagant mic system. But plug it in and play it through (what they call) the Fishman Prius 2 system and it sounds horrible. You cannot EQ it on the guitar or your amp to sound right. Playing it acoustically, it sounds great for the money but there's little or no bottom end. The physical depth dimension of the body is very shallow and it is extremely lightweight. But it's a beautiful little guitar and the craftsmanship was good. It would have been worth the $318 I spent on it had it not cost me $92 for shipping. Getting a refund was a pain!
I believe it has more than enough bottom end for this type of guitar. Sure the Fishman system can't be compared to the acoustic sound, but it should sound good through a PA system. Regarding the refund, I only had amazing experiences with Thomann, maybe things are different outside of Europe with customs and such, but once they get back the instrument they should refund you pretty quickly.
