Creating a White Underbase In Photoshop With Slight Choking Tutorial

  • A short video explaining how I create a white under base when printing on colored t shirts using Photoshop. It is a very simple process that I use. This is useful for anybody in the screen printing industry who is wondering how to create a white under base. I also "choke" the under base, which means that it is slightly smaller so that the white under base cannot be seen at all. The opposite would be a "bleed" which means the white under base is a little larger than the image which allows it to be seen much clearer on a dark t shirt.

I agree with expanding 2 px instead of choking, your uncle is spot on.

It only works if there is no white in the design :( If there is white, in the color rang step, it will select the white in the design and it becomes a mess. help plz

Sorry I have not been active on this account. If you have any future questions, send me the artwork and I will make a video out of it or at least give you any advice I can.

Ice cream print and for whatever reason this is giving me a white outline around my image I did it twice to make sure I was following the directions

Mine still doesn't show 100% even after I fill it again. What do I do to make 100%

Try changing the document to CMYK. Also, make sure it isn't in Greyscale mode either.

@@HeartHustlePrinting I think he is coming from a DTG perspective. For DTG the image needs to be white. Also we still need the transparency.

This is for people who still print using screens. The film is printed in all black, which is burned on to a screen, and then the screen has colored ink applied to it, which in this case would be white ink.
