Hi, great video! Two quick questions...do I need to use a RIP software to achieve the halftone dots in those low opacity layers, or can this be achieved without a RIP? Lastly, I’m new to creating art for screen printing. Can I ask if all artwork that isn’t a vector needs to be a bitmap for the films to burn correctly? When I try bitmapping my art, the edges always look super jaggy. Thanks 😊
you need to increase your dpi. go to image size and increase your dpi, they dots will look less jagged. you want no less than 300, 1200 is about the most you would need. I usually do 400 for my screen printing business, unless it is a lot of fine detail and fine half tones.
Not sure if I'm asking this correctly, but what are the print settings to have a 50%/75% opacity print as a half tone? Are the dots automatically resized for less ink to fall through when I print or is there another step?
Kiva Loor good question! So just make sure you have only 50/75% in that channel that needs to print as halftone- your rip will convert the opacity 50/75% to halftones
