    Lego has the ferrari license. We have Ferrari Speed Champions. Can we have a Ferrari icons scale please? Testarossa (Miami Vice), 348 (magnum), or F40 would be nice options

    Growing up I was a fan of legos and cars but I got few sets and focused only on ninjago. When I entered my dark ages I grew to love cars working on them and everything. Later I met my girlfriend and she got me the speed champions Lamborghini Lego set. It got me back into Lego

    The only problem is the color, in my experience the LEGO white pieces tends to get a yellowish color over time, but not all the pieces, so you"ll end up with a car with different colors in some places

      Out of curiosity, do you store your sets with white bricks near sunlight?
      I've never experienced this issue before and have a number of sets with white bricks (Old lego cuusoo/Ideas Ecto 1, Speed Champions Countach and more) however they're mostly stored in a display area away from open sunlight.
      White plastic turning yellow is most commonly (but not exclusively) caused due to the sun hitting the plastic and "bleaching" it thus making it turn yellow, so if you're having issues with bricks turning yellow I'd advise you to check where your sets are currently stored/displayed.
      While I'm not sure how, it does seem there are fixes for it in some instances so maybe worth a shot to look it up too.

      @@clockwork3494 I have lots of white pieces that have turned yellow and mine are stored in a basement with no windows. Granted the yellow ones are 10-15+ years old, but it happens to nearly every white plastic object not just Lego. Things like kitchen appliances are also subjected to this given enough time. Eventually it just turns slightly yellow, just a property of the material.

      Now this is mostly damage from sunlight, but it can also be repaired with sunlight. If you make a bath of hydrogen peroxide mixed with water and put the parts submerged in it out in direct sunlight, they should restore to their original color. (this works for other discoloration too, not just white pieces)
      I've heard that adding a little vanish oxy action speeds this process up, as it acts as a catalyst for the peroxide.

    So right about the Countach. My all time fantasy car. Had so many pics of these hanging in my room. Model seems nice but surprised they literally upscale the speed champions one. They should have at least done it in red or even yellow to mix it up.

    I already bought a rebrickable speed champions version (and then double dipped for the official). And bought the rebrickable ‘alt build’ for the porsche 911 (is there anything Firas can’t make from that set?) - and first impressions are this is not different enough to double dip. Maybe if I double dip I’ll use the rebrickable model to build a GT40 or something

    • @arghjayem
      @arghjayem 8 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Yeah, was thinking the same. It’s strange because as angular as the Countach looks IRL, this version looks even more angular! And the rear lights look way too big! Again perhaps more accurate in scale to the real life ones, but I like the look of the Tagra alt build more! It was the only reason I bought the Tagra set! 😂
      The doors do look better on the official set, but the alt build was working with limited parts so 🤷. Same with the windshield.

    • @pinobluevogel6458
      @pinobluevogel6458 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The speed champions version has better lines around the wheelcases and better rearlights too. I think as lego car, it is superior at least from the outside, but as a model meant for display, probably not.

    This set was born out of the MOC build that you can build from the Porsche Targa/Turbo set. Because many preferd building the moc rather than the Porsche

  • @clockwork3494
    @clockwork3494 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

    I think the only complaint I have is the colour since we had the 911 in white the previous years.
    I think a black Countach would've been nice if not a bright yellow or so on, just a new or different colour to the typical white.
    For this reason I kinda hope this car will be be released in a similar fashion to the Fiat 500, which was released in both pastel yellow and blue.
    The wheel arches are understandable given Lego designs models with both display _and_ structure in mind, whereas MOCs tend to be more display oriented and thus more fragile.
    I think people forget that Lego doesn't simply appeal to one specific demographic, display pieces are nice and all but it's not fun having the itty bitty details knock off or the front end come loose because it has minimal attachment points all for the sake of being more accurate.

    Not exactly a review, but a nice introduction to why and how this set is here and might be great for different kinds of fans.
    I think the lines of the chassis around the wheel cases is a bit too round and not very elegant. Even the speed champions version has better lines despite its design limitations as a smaller car. Other than that, an amazing looking car. Especially on the interior with the dark red 'leather' look, is where this version makes up for its flaws. (even though they are small)
    For me, as for a lot of people most likely, I think having 1 minifig sized scale for all cars is the only thing I need. I don't want cars for only display, I want them to fit in my larger city and look great at that scale. Even the speed champions line is a bit too large for that, as 6 stud wide cars are probably the best size for the average city / road network.

    I'm sorry this is just a bad design. The Porsche 911 MOC is much better at capturing the shape than this official model. Just my opinion of course, I will easily pass on this one. Also, why not red or blue or something fun, we already had plenty of white.
