  • Piers Morgan Uncensored is joined by satirical comedian and host of 'Triggernometry' Konstantin Kisin after a speech he gave at Oxford Union about the problems with woke culture went viral online.
Piers begins by applauding the comic for his speech and says he was impressed that he was able to win over a fairly 'woke' crowd when discussing the issues of a woke society. Konstantin then explains how he feels there's a responsibility to persuade and convince young people with rational arguments.

He is so right! Woke culture has been gaining speed since the late 2000’s. I grew up in the 90’s and I just don’t get it? We accepted everyone in the 90’s. I was really into 90’s grunge and the crowds I hung out with accepted everyone no matter race, sexual orientation, gender ect. We didn’t demand that everyone be cancelled for not being politically correct. It just didn’t exist back then. The internet was new and I think Technology has helped a lot with Wokeism!

this is not true, there was rampant gay bashing when I was in high school in the 1980s, well into the 1990s, I heard so much vile racist stuff here in the 70s and 80s that it would be shocking to today's young ears, there was general segregation in the media, most tv shows had few representative minorities as main characters because white people wouldn't watch the shows -ask any tv executive, the music industry was mostly segregated by race when it came to musical styles. Many racial musicians talk about feeling like novelties when trying to play in music scenes that weren't considered "black" or "world music". I knew many "good ol' boys" wouldn't hang out with non-whites, and in mostly places there was a lack of diversity. Grunge was primarily a white scene, even the rave scene I was in the late 1980s/early 1990s was primarily white (the house music scene was much more tolerant because it was mostly a gay scene).Police bashing was a real thing and I witnessed a few times in the 80s and early 90s, shocking even then, done almost without care with who was watching .People look through rose colored glasses but the past was "Simpler" to many because many of the world's issues weren't a consideration for middle class white America.

That has nothing to do with “Woke”. The very same arguments have been thrown at Political Correctness. Where made by the Nazi Party about the media and by the media about the Nazi Party when the Nazi Party started accepting/promoting members based on political ideology.
Being “Woke” is nothing more than being aware of social injustices. It is what you would think most liberal people would are.
The current culture is no different to any young generations rebellion against their elders it’s just taken a different form and been given greater prominence by technology.
The substance Kisin’s Oxford speech isn’t wrong, there are many complicating factors to climate change that are ridiculously wide ranging and need accepting and addressing rather than the narrow focus by people like Thunberg, but naming it a woke culture is itself divisive but Kisin knows that. In the same way he knows using these terms exploits the same technology.

Afterward, I was called into a meeting by one of my professors and pretty much told to stop talking so much in class. It's a bit concerning to see radical ideologies being accepted without thinking through the effects of climate change policies in developing countries. Although the topics of gender, free speech, race, cancel culture, victimhood and climate change seemed unlikely to make much difference in real life the world has now woken up to realise that our schools had added these topics to the syllabus as 'education' and been teaching them for a couple of generations.
    Orwell's 1984 creeps ever closer.
Then the kids went to universities, which used to be the home of debate, diversity and free speech, but they had introduced rules which didn't allow the opinions contrary to their own in case the kid's feelings were hurt!
Instead they have been teaching kids they are victims, and they need to protest, and they are now full of anxiety, instead of going out and changing the world by working!
I understand that fire brigades have, for a few years now recruited using diversity quotas before ability to do the job or fitness.
Unconscious bias, where you can be perceived by others to be for example racist so you are guilty of racism without even knowing you are!!
White privilege - you should feel guilty about being white even though you had no choice what colour your family was. (A new brand of racism?)
Equality, inclusion and diversity - teachers have been encouraging kids at school to try changing gender, names and pronouns without telling their parents.
Control - the authorities restricting personal choices such as the way we travel, how often, how, where and why.
What we eat, how we heat our homes etc. I read yesterday that the health watchdog is trying to ban people bringing cakes into the office for birthdays etc., likening it to passive smoking in the workplace!
What we buy and implying some of our choices are not for the greater good of the community.
Censorship - of books, authors and so on who aren't seen as supporting the new regime. (JK Rowling for example)
Criticising wealth creation and wealthy individuals however much they use their wealth to benefit society in general.
Cancelling history by removing historical artefacts from museums and public places in case they offend other wokies - as previously done overseas by dictatorships and oppressive regimes.
H & M are prime examples of 'woke doctrine' and see themselves as victims, but instead could choose to help change the world for the better if they set their minds to it.
If I am wrong in thinking this is in the main bad for a free democracy please let me know.

Piers, I have always found that you and I seem to be very much alike with our opinion Re: the world and the woke culture. I am an American, 69 years of age and I don't understand the hate others feel for my generation. As a teenager in 1968, My Federal Government was cracking heads open because We didn't want to kill or be killed in Vietnam. Now, We have an entire generation of our offspring who hate our guts because They want to rule the world, never bothering to look back into the past and learn how our generation helped them along in life in every way including today. Piers, I am tired of being hated for no good reason since High School beginning in 1966.

Thank You Piers Morgan for once again proving that your Channel is the place of safety, normality and comfort for the number of ordinary people that suddenly in todays world hsve been left outside and dont have many other spaces or just a home like this one-the home of freedom and logic in general factual thinking and intelligent and kind but powerful discussions.
So important today-in this overwhelming run of information and completely subjective, repeatedly blind against the ones of others and often aggressive and totally new or baseless narratives from multiple sides.
Thank You Mr. Piers Morgan and Mr. Konstantin ❤️👏💡
We all feel good being able to listen to such smart and educated adults but also and first of all just the non populistic and reflecting the common sense people 👍

Compare the brilliance of his speech in its entirety, with the several hundred televised versions of Just Stop Oil and Extinction Rebellion word salad offerings - as nutritious as a can of spam or a box of kraft dinner.
Konstantin Kisin is a remarkable example of a true and powerful cultural diversity, the kind that made the west through most of the 20th century such a cornucopia of freedom of thought.
Great discussion, guys. Only wish it had extended longer. Needs another round or two.

I loved his speech. It’s so refreshing to hear normalcy in this nutty world. Just tonight I had to swing by the hospital for a scheduled appointment and the lady at the desk had multi coloured hair with a sweatshirt that stated ‘woke monster’ and a ludicrous tagline about representing the truth and knowledge. I find these people to be a massive stain on our planet.

America medical institutes have already adopted anti racism into practice. Patients are now treated subjectively based on race. Illegal. But they carry on through intimidation and only hire people who love being cruel to white people. People who are not fully into practicing anti racism in medicine are fired. Illegal also.
Mass illegality and ignoring bill of rights in US is happening.
US is no longer a constitutional republic. Marxists have taken over institutions. Communists running govt. Biden Admin has stolen trillions from American taxpayers. It's disgusting.

He is actually wrong in saying that we shouldn't be protesting and instead looking for technological solutions. As someone who works in an upcoming field of renewables, we need pressure on the government to help start-up companies or else nothing will come to fruition. So what we need is protestors and innovators and one without another is useless.
