    Cards and the board are made for game purposes so it may occur that certain events do not comply with its history. But I find it very strange too that Vietnam is not a battleground since a lot of fighting went on over there. Also I want to note that this game is quite complex and it takes a few full games to fully understand it and play it well. Take ur time with it and yes you will stumble upon some questions and mistakes u made in the past. Its all part of the learning process. :)

      Yeah, just like Afghanistan ... lot of USSR soldiers died there

    Well, not only did the USSR not have a non battleground, it also had the same number of countries as the US. Don't forget - Canada is a part of Western Europe in this game :)

      Canada, schmanada! Good point. Mistakes were made, no doubt about it.

      The Pensky File
      Oh, don't worry, happens to everyone :D It is a very complex and long game, after all. Me and my play group always discovered little details we were getting wrong in Through the Ages rules after months playing it somewhat frequently.

    Even with the Score Europe math mistake, such a dominant USSR display on turn 2. I felt my gut turn with the sudden, very marked reversal. And there was nothing the US could do to improve things in Europe before the scoring card came out, as turn 1 was all about the Middle East and Asia. Ouch.

    NATO event card is played here after Warsaw Pact, but in reality NATO was formed in 1949 and WP in 1955.

    1:12 Isn't it technically whoever the phasing player is when the defcon status goes to 1?

      That's essentially saying the same thing - the phasing player is the one playing the card. "Phasing player" just sounds a bit technical. :)

    I think Europe scoring was not correct ... USSR did not had domination .. domination is more countries , more battleground and control at least a non battleground country .. in this case USSR did not control any non battleground country .. otherwise a nice video :)

      Thanks! You're right about that scoring mistake, I've added an annotation to the video.

    At 6:58 , how come US uses Operation points and event at the same time?

      +Povilas Šimonis I believe he just played Containment for the ops. The event didn't trigger.

    Hey guys, thanks for uploading. I have a question: How come you get 4 military operations points when you couped Iran?

    • @thepenskyfile
      @thepenskyfile  9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Talasesdfsdf The USSR couped with the NATO card, which is 4 ops. You get military points equal to ops. Thanks for watching!

    When the US part played USSR event card as OP, you did not perform that USSR event, it seems against the rules.
