Did you see that LittleBigPlanet 3 and all it's DLC is getting delisted next month?
I've never cared about or commented on your or anyones sponsor before, but man, this one is AMAZING! Just dropped my preorder for the deluxe! What an amazing idea, and what a great way to throw some money at the sunny side of VG culture and industry. Thanks man!!
Bro cant you find some FN B-Roll that's less than 18months old?
Absolutely love this choice in sponsor. Perfect fit

Thanks so much for having us on as the sponsor with our Outer Wilds: Design Works book - long time fans, always appreciated your shout-outs, figured it was time we gave back as a sponsor haha. 🙏🙏
Appreciate everyone checking it out, too!
how much is it? I want it but not if it's like 200 dollars... Edit: it's 140 Euros or some weird ass currency no one with money has ever used. (jokes, keep your shirt on) You're advertising on an American site, but selling your products in Franks? Shillings? Buck skins? Idk...Also, the 3D model is made out of paper and you have to fold it yourself lol. And it's not even releasing until Q3 2025...
(pin this comment Ralph/Austin!)
I bought the deluxe bundle! It looks incredible!
I got interested, but was sad to learn that the deluxe actually isn't a hard cover book. I'm not interested in the other doodads in the package, but I would have bought a good hardcover book for a game I enjoy (I actually buy the hardcover prima guides just to collect).
Hope you consider doing hardcovers and selling them on their own.

'' biggest, richest space simulation RPG anyone could imagine. '' What a load of shit.
Yeah, this quote was a joke the whole way through. There are MANY space simulation RPGs with more meat on their bones and more interesting gameplay than Starfield, It's very strange of him to pretend like they made something that outclasses things like ED, EVE, etc.
Some of which started over 20 years ago..
Thought you were talking about Outer Wilds.
@Zastrutzki Outer Wilds is not a space sim lol
There are things I definitely liked about Starfield - namely some good story lines and visuals - but there are so many other issues with it. Luckily for me, I have two great SSD's in my PC alongside some top of the line hardware. The amount of loading screens consistently broke immersion for me (that includes the "space travel" and other things akin to it) alongside the procedurally generated content. Their cognitive dissonance excuse of "most planets are empty" was genuinely weak and sad. This is a video game, dude. We want content and not endless, empty planets.
I don't doubt it's the best he could imagine, but that says more about him.
Ubisoft is now also the target of a class action lawsuit alleging that they illegally sold user data to Meta.
lol, the Guillemot family’s incompetence is just astounding.

Incompetence implies that they didn't turn the company into a husk on purpose. They knew 100% where they were taking it, they just didn't expect it to go wrong.

"It's not how it launches, it's what it becomes," is (of course) the wrong lesson to learn from F76, Cyberpunk & NMS. Studios have learned that they can sell us a buggy mess, which we won't know until we've already parted with our money, as long as they fix it at some point, weeks, months or even years down the road. Unacceptable! No other industry does this to consumers. You wouldn't buy a PC with the promise that it'll work properly sometime in the future
BG3 was buggy and incredibly unfinished on launch, but the game was so good, people, overlooked the thousands of bugs down-played the big ones, or pretended they didn’t exist. They can indeed sell us buggy and weak performance games, if the quality is very good.
@@makasete30 Same with Elden Ring and the massive stuttering on PC on release.
@@makasete30 People would've tolerated the Cyberpunk bugs too but the low end consoles couldn't even load the fucking game. It was a game built for next-gen that Sony and Microsoft forced on old gen. I upgraded my PC from 1070 for it. I had basically the same level of buggy experience with BG3 as CP77, where launch was horribly buggy, then every day a patch came out massively reducing bugs until it was playable within a few days.

343: “this the end of how we were making Halo games. We are going to try a new tactic….making good Halo games.”
even if they make a new halo game, idk if it will ever have the hearts of its previous fans that have been captured from bungies era of halo games.
I mean I was literally a hard core fan but with 343 and how infinite flopped so hard face down with its story it made me switch to PlayStation and I've been enjoying new titles that I couldn't play before.
Great joke, but it’s literally impossible for them to make a good game which makes it pretty sad.
@@SaufzwerginI'm sorry to hear you're still stuck on consoles man. PlayStation does have some good games, but as an ex-Sony fan, they'll disappoint you too.

@@Saufzwergin yeah many things died for the fans recently. Almost everything, in fact. Star Wars dies and causes no excitement or interest. With Halo it's the same.
Exactly what Halo needed, ANOTHER reboot. The last few they've done have gone so well.
"Just one more reboot, bro! One more and we'll be back! It'll be like the good old games!"
Reboots aren’t inherently bad. The last ones weren’t bad because they were reboots, it’s because they just weren’t well done. What if this reboot is fantastic?
I recently saw one of the devs showing off a new character model for Master Chief, all I can say is.....oh dear.
The likes/dislikes ratio of that new Halo video is proof why companies spend so much on marketing.
@@duerf5826 What do you mean? its 45,000 likes to 6600 dislikes.
It wasn't unfair or taken out of context at all. It was idiotic corporate drivel and people are right to beat him up about it.
Saying it’s the “best” gunplay, graphics, and technical performance “for Bethesda”is not a good argument either. The bar is on the floor Bethesda, so doing the bare minimum should not be praised.
At this stage we shouldn't trust 343 with anything they do or say. Microsoft had more than a decade to nurture the studio into the new makers of halo, but instead every entry they've made has been either highly divisive or an outright disaster.
The only reason they are switching to unreal engine is because their upgrade to their previous engine was made almost entirely of temporary contractors. Had they kept all those workers to work on future updates to the game, the engine switch would be but a thought in a developer's head.
343 is such a shit show, they are incapable of making a good game
I don't think Halo fans are "hungry for more". I think we're just hungry for anything story-related.
I'm not hungry anymore
Yes and stop with the cliffhanger. Also I truly hate the story from infinite.
At the time I was heartbroken by the ending of Halo 3. Master Chief and Cortana stranded in space, the trailers heavily implying he was never found.
Now I wish he was left out there, drifting in the void. His duty done.
@@zoneVgroup I think the main problem is that 343 has/had commitment issues. They couldn't just go with one storyline, instead they did a full 180 twice in 4, 5 and Infinite. They should have just stuck with Cortana from Guardians as an antagonist and made the best of it, instead they resolved all of that off-screen.
That's what all these new studio's - movie and gaming studios - don't seem to understand. Good stories need stakes and teeth. Twists and controversy. They should push the medium forward, not regress. Nothing groundbreaking was ever safe.
I got all the achievements on Shattered Space. Did every quest, explored and looted fully 50 locations. It’s EXACTLY like the base game. 6 uninspired story missions with choices that don’t matter. 8 Fedex side quests. Took me two days to do it all for a 30€ yearly expansion and that’s including 100% research on the planet. A few new weapons but not a single yellow except melee weapons (all the same). No house or vendor until the story is over so you can’t sell anything without traveling to another system. Same music. No boss fight of any kind (edit I completely forgot about Anasko as pointed out in the comments, there’s one actually). Last mission pits you against 300 enemies which is insanely difficult if over normal difficulty with a lot of modifiers. The original faction quests are still by far the best content in the game. Oh apparently there’s 2 new companions but I didn’t even notice you could recruit them. In my defense it’s really difficult to know where people are on the map.
What I was most annoyed about was melee combat tbh....it sucks after playing Cyberpunk 2.0.
I'm no fan of Starfield or the DLC, but the final confrontation is as much a Creation Engine/Gamebryo boss fight as anything else that's ever been made in those engines. Guy with extra health and damage, set in a locked combat arena, recovers health even when defeated until background objective is complete, taunts you as you fight them.
The game is also trying to telegraph that you should run at the end. My completionist tendencies and strong dislike of the faction made me stay to kill them all, which was a waste of time because the building explodes anyway, but I understood they didn't necessarily expect you to kill them all.
What a shame, especially since everything about house of varuun was interesting on a surface level. Like im genuinely concerned at this point with future installments if BGS keeps pumping out generic crap.
Uh oh, someone skipped The Redeemed fight! There is new music as well.
My game got bugged and every time i melee someone my character gets stuck and becomes super slow for like 5 seconds 😂 i cant even play with the new melee weapon

Hi Phil!👋
Infinite's campaign is alright
Why use fire emojis? It makes the comment look l like it was written by a 12 year old.
i reeeealy disagree with todd's quote... sure bad games can redeem themselves if their updates are incredible, but you'll never get those first impressions back. i bet there are still a ton of people who haven't given no mans sky a 2nd chance after the atrocious launch. it's far easier to release a game in a good state than to get back on players' good side after an awful launch.
Even with cyberpunk 2077, I saw plenty of comments saying they won't get it still cause of the horrible state the game came out at launch
I played Starfield on launch. Spent the first 20 or so hours trying to figure out if I liked it. After about 50 hours I put it down and concluded I don't like it and probably won't look at it again until the DLC starts dropping. Given the reception to the DLC I can confidently say I probably won't pick up Starfield ever again.
@@SaufzwerginYeah but they already sold more than 25 million copies so I doubt they are that worried. I honestly wouldn't even be surprised if the controversy surrounding this game made it even more well known than it would have previously.
@Saufzwergin Those people are missing out on a really good game. The better move is to just wait a few days to see how the release goes and come back later after some patches and a sale if it seems bad. Nobody is making you preorder or buy day 1 without looking into it.
Sucks that so many games have bad launches these days, but it’s the people who won’t stop preordering and buying day 1 who “let devs get away with it”, not the people who wait a year and buy after it’s fixed and cheaper.

"People optimistic waiting for Elder Scroll 6 are living in a fantasy World" ...pun intended?
I'm just confused what happened to Bethesda. They aren't suffering weird DEI woke shit like everyone else. They're rich as hell. They don't hate their customers. Why can't they just make the games good like before?
i mean fallout 4 was good and the saying Bethesda hasn’t released a decent game in over a decade is kinda stupid since thats pretty much one game
@@luckerooni1153perhaps woke DEI isn't the cause of bad games inherently?
It's just poor storytelling, game design, and bad management?
@@luckerooni1153 my theory is the creation engine. I can't imagine the investment they poured into this engine over the years to keep it current and yet it looks average and they couldn't avoid having to use a bajillion loading screens on starfield. It also looks like the teams have to work around the engine to make their quests and events works, which is probably very time consuming and bug prone. On top of that the added onboarding time for new developers and the struggle to recruit new experienced developers (who would want to get experience in a doomed engine ?). Imo they have to transition to UE5 for their next games but they might have to fight through the sunk-cost fallacy for this

Im surprised that people are okay paying 40 euro for 1 class and some story in diablo 4. Seems more like a 20 euro dlc at best.

Didn't get the DLC because of PoE2 being right around the corner but I read the story of the DLC is 12h. I personally hated the campaign of D4 because I feel like it was artificially made longer by unlocking the horse at chapters IV. I spent the whole campaign spamming movement abilities to go from quest marker to quest marker but the horse is already unlocked in VoH so I'm not sure how they could do that

I've already been feeling this way leading up to Starfield's launch. Todd kept talking about this game and how it was going to be a return to form, a game like Morrowind. That this is a game he's been wanting to make for a while. Starfield just isn't that, not even close. It's somehow worse than Skyrim. I am not optimistic for TES6 at all. 4:25 Wait, there seems to be a massive elephant in the room with that statement. "It's not how it launches, it's what it becomes.", then you go on to reference NoMansSky, Cyberpunk 2077, FF14. These are all games that launched with a strong enough foundation to build off. Starfield cannot become a masterpiece if the entire foundation is the main issue. The game was built in a way that is restricted by their outdated game engine, so main issues, Exploration, The procedural Planets, The Gameplay loop, NPC interactions are literally impossible to fix. The only way to do that would be to change their game-engine or restart Starfield from scratch. Starfield cannot be fixed, period. Even modders gave up trying to figure out Bethesda's convoluted game design methods.
But he did point out how the problems are fundemental
Agree. It was such a huge disappointment when Cyberpunk released broken in 2019, but even then I can see the game's potential to eventually be good. Not the case with Starfield. It is fundamentally bad. It is rotten to the very core. They can go the route of FF14 which is to nuke the entire game, and basically release an entirely new game with the same title. But I doubt Bethesda will do that.
Agreed, the loading screens is the real problem and it's inherent to the creation engine.
@@HollowKnight21 if only Todd and Yoshi P were even in the same solar system as far as love for their supposed passion projects was concerned. Yoshi P would walk across hot coals to give players good FF14 content. idk what is going on with Todd, the leather jackets might be getting too tight these days.
FFXIV did not have a strong enough foundation to build off of, which is why they built a new foundation.
"It's not how it launches; it's what it becomes." And that's when I'll give you money for it, Todd- when it becomes worth the asking price. _Starfield_ is not _remotely_ there yet.
Was thrown off when I didn't see the Shill Up update yesterday, glad to see it today.
A name change and an ad to attract talent for future projects. That's what it took to get many hyped for Halo.
No players should care what engine a game is made in so the UE announcement shouldn't make people excited. It's still the same people at the studio, minus a few higher-ups.
Hopefully they attract good talent so future games are better than what we have gotten the last 12 years.
Unreal is a popular engine. Meaning there's more devs who know how to use it.
Halo has been using a proprietary engine since the Bungie days. And after the overhaul for infinite (I think that's a whole new engine actually), it made it harder to hire new talent. As nobody knew how to use the engine.
@@samreddig8819the only issue with the slipspace engine was the high turnover rate of the contract devs. If they hired actual employees then it would have been fine.
The environment in UE5 looks great but the mk5 armor they showed off at the end looked terrible though so hopefully that can get fixed with different material shaders.
The Halo rebranding taught me that if any company wants to change their reputation, just slap a new logo sticker on the door and all will be forgiven!
See EA and Ubisoft! Just change your names to AE and Sobiuft, and your entire history will be forgiven and forgotten, like magic!
@@thegamerboy1000yh alot of people don't understand a big issue with 343.

Eh, I don't really get any context of "Starfield in many ways is the best game we've ever made" It doesn't look all that great visually, gameplay is laughable, story is forgettable, and its just as buggy and glitchy as the rest of Bethesda's catalogue.
I genuinely don't know why anyone would use that phrasing for any aspect of this _product_
There's got to be an idiom even more aggressive than "Tallest kid in Kindergarten" because the praise they're trying to damn this game with is fainter than the most distant stars in our universe.
Yeah, it's wild that people are praising the graphics. They're serviceable and possibly the best Bethesda graphics, but judged against its peers they're not worth mentioning. The art direction is incredibly bland. They don't have a single piece of apparel that can share the same room as a suit of Desert Ranger armor from New Vegas.
They probably spent millions on the creation engine to make starfield "work" and now they have to justify this investment. In a technical way it's probably the best game they made, but it's still far below the level of any competitor using UE5
huh? the texture work is some of the best in the industry and it's the least buggy game in BGS history by a long shot. you can tell by the miniscule changelogs in the patches that modders make. i swear it's like half of the people parroting these critiques haven't even played the game
@@TheNotSoLoneWanderer I think the NASA-punk aesthetic for ship design is actually pretty remarkable - interiors look fantastic. And the UC heavy marine spacesuit is pretty standout in terms of armour design, with neat details like the asymmetrical plating. But overall, yeah, a lot of the other stuff looks kind of thrown together and bland - I think a lot due to the massive amount of outsourcing done for assets, with lack of a clear creative direction for the IP.

Halo's "future" looks bleak.
Game devs are 100% delusional. To assume we're "hungry for more" is an arrogant mindset. I'd say we're more... fed up of it. This rebranding doesn't change anything for me.

It’s funny because Halo has been so bad over the last decade that Halo fans dying during the next game’s development is a legitimate concern for 34- I mean, Halo Studios. It’s not like they’ve gotten new fans when a full generation and a half of new gamers have grown up without a popular or well-loved Halo game.
Yeah, which is sad to think about it, not just halo but all the 360 era of gaming will probably not be touch by the later generations.
Bethesda's Studio Design Director earlier this week said their biggest takeaway from Starfield was "The fans really just want The Elder Scrolls 6" and that could not be further from the truth. Every fan of BGS is scared shitless about what ES6 will look like..
Halo studios are already dead, they just dont know it yet. To rename your company to one of your products is like poking Fate with stick in the eye and not expecting to get smacked. Corporate version of getting a tattoo of your gfs name.

I’m one of the few people who said Bloober Team can pull this off. Being a fan of there other games especially Observer, and seeing the progression game after game I new this would be interesting. congratulations Bloober. 😎
keep defending bad devs and theyll keep churning out shit followed by mass layoffs
Unless these devs are self publishing, it is bad publishers! Those who hold the money control the launch!
Stop blaming devs for bad publisher decisions
Broketober. Here i am still playing Space Marine 2 😂
But it's a good game, at least. I remember when I bought Callisto Protocol over the Dead Space remake. Man, do I regret that.
same here brother same here , FOR THE EMPEROR
@@LastRookiethat sucks man 😢
Still baffles me that its taken this long for them to greenlight an Alien Isolation 2. The first one is one of if not the best scifi horror games ever released.
It's a shame nobody on the SkillUp team or Jake/Lucy on the podcast care about DBZ so there will be basically zero discussion on Sparking Zero. That game is popping off like crazy with huge numbers on steam... and it launches officially tomorrow.
Seeing an ad for Lost in Cult just as I'm on the way to 5hr middleman courier's office to get my parcel of their magazine, lock-on issues #2-5 is funny but also good to see
This soundtrack is fire, great choice!
Bruh, the signed deluxe edition's already sold out for that Outer Wilds - Lost in Cult shop.
Pezimism 9:05
For Starfield, I can play Freelancer on a computer of the 2000
Is Sony allergic to money?
No, allergic to kindness.
7:42 "Starfield is a technical marvel" the COPIUM
Regarding halo: I said everywhere i could and i will say here too.
DO NOT fall for what devs are saying regarding "halo studios".
We've all been there before.
Imho its all still 343 with a different name becuase the damage was beyond repair.
This static video is just to gaslight us into thinking they've changed.
They've lied to us several times and be 343 and M$ have shown time and time again they cant take the franchise anymore.
No mention of Dragon Ball Sparking Zero? The disrespect is crazy
Those critic reviews for D4 xpac show how big of a disconnect there is between them and the player base (or how big of a paycheck they got to praise it)
I'm hearing good things about the expansion from D4 content creators, the stat squish, new class, new zone are all good and the endgame changes seem fine ? What is the disconnect ?
I paid for shattered space and don’t think I’ll ever bother playing it.
Well that’s dumb.
@@Camad yeah I agree.
@@SemperSalamyup I’m with you on that, I was burned by BF2042 and now Starfield so I have learned my lesson no more preorders ever again
@@thegamerboy1000Cyberpunk was my lesson.
Why not give it a go if you own it. The overall review score being lower than the base games it's just silly and absolutely from review bombing.
The baldurs gate 2 expansion has always been miles larger and better than any expansion we’ve ever gotten since. It’s sad to see expansions descending rather than aiming to meet the bar the best expansion set. I loved phantom liberty, but it’s only 30% of The Throne of Bhaal. Shattered space shouldn’t even be called an expansion, it was finishing the game since they already admitted that Varune was complete and intentionally cut for later sell
It's obvious how much work you put in!
How did I not see it coming that lost in cult would be sponsoring you after they revealed that outer wilds design works. Well already got the Deluxe version last week
They put cat ears on Spartans and people still think there is hope for Halo lol
Meowster Chief to the rescue
As a massive Silent Hill fan I can tell you that no one expected them to deliver on this remake but I’m so happy they did

This is how you know Skill up never played Devil May Cry since this is
A) Doesn't have a sytle meter
B) Not a hack and slash/character action
C) DANTE ISNT THE ONE WITH THE GRAPPLE HOOK, CLOSEST IS NERO. THEY GAVE DANTE ONE ONLY IN THE AWFUL REBOOT.
Movement felt like dishonored to me
I can't believe Ubisoft still can't wrap their head around their TERRIBLE LAUNCHER service destroying their entire business.
Starfield so bad that I actually worry if es6 will achieve even half of skyrim's modding interest. Simplification and broad appeal have limits before you start to have no appeals or discernible gameplay to enjoy and boy howdy, Bethesda has fucking leapt over that line. Cross your fingers guys.
In the meanwhile time to start brainstorming how more of the already lean design of skyrim can be trimmed down. Having to choose a stat to raise with each level? New players might not understand that! It's gotta go!
yup, combine with mod sites that take an agenda stance it there's no real hook for it anymore
they took it for granted and it shows
As someone who loves both Alien Isolation and VR, I am unbelievably happy I am not only getting an Alien Isolation-style game in VR later this year, but an ACTUAL ALIEN ISOLATION SEQUEL. Friends, we are eating SO GOOD.
Silent Hill 2 remake being better than it was ever possible, Alien Isolation getting a sequel, Ubisoft going down faster than player numbers for Concord, it's like this timeline is trying to heal itself and I am all for it.
It is absolutely criminal how long we have to wait for new Halo games all because the old leadership (who isn’t there anymore) screwed up so bad.
Too bad Halo Studios is being ran by the same kinds of idiots that ruined Halo in the first place. I suspect the next halo game will be even worse than Infinite judging by the new management...
'clenches fist in anger' Dante doesn't have a grappling hook, goddamnit.
I personally really enjoy Starfield, and I have been enjoying Shattered Space. It's just not gonna be for everyone. It's become my confort game, though
27:27 Correction: This is Atlus's old persona team who made 3,4, and 5. Who formed a new studio in atlus Called Studio Zero. P-Studios the current Psrsona team is not involved
I know this is a small technicality. But it is important to highlight that there are 3 Studios in Atlus Studio Zero is a new studio dedicated to making new experiences and P-Studios is dedicated to Persona. And the studios do not effect each others development. At least in the surface
"Starfield has it's own unique personality"? Yeah it's called BLAND. The blandest, most boring Sci-fi setting ever put into a videogame, or in any form of fiction media, ever. The only thing more boring than Starfield is the real life dystopia we currently live in. WTF is that guy on?
Stopped the video at 0:04, pre-ordered the Deluxe Edition, then came back. Never ordered anything so quick in my life
Every AAA game at this rate will look the same if they all play it safe with UE5.
Agreed. I saw that presentation and I was like: "This DOES feel like a Tech Demo but not for Halo, but rather, Unreal assets."
Great, new video to brighten the end of the work week!
FF14 was not an update or dlc, it was a complete new game, having being labelled ff14 . But they add reborn, because it was complete new game, made from scratch.
And by the way, what in a "technical marvel",was bad interpreted...stop defending the undefendable. As Bioware. And take a look, as if the graphism was the problem of Halo. You can make mediocre game with good graphism.
Surprised to see Undisputed mentioned here! Wanna take a minute to chime in and tentatively recommend that people don't buy it in its current state. imo the game was AMAZING during the beta leading up to release, save for some expected lack of polish, but 1.0 made some changes to balancing that the vast majority of the community agrees changed the feel of the game for the worse, plus a lot of the things we expected to see improved (like the career mode that just sort of has you fight the same 3 boxers over and over again once you win all the titles) still feel very unfinished.
It's still the most compelling boxing game released in the last 10 years by my metric, I just fear people who jump into it right now might be disappointed by what they find. Steel City, the devs, have proven receptive to community feedback and fast to make tweeks to the game in the past, so there's no doubt for me there's some updates in the horizon that will polish things back up to an acceptable state.
Wanna know why Starfield is boring? Because I instantly recognize and know all the layouts of every single POI you (and other youtubers) show whenever they talk about the game while footage plays in the background.
U don't wanna hear about it? Don't watch a video about gaming news.
@@tz5116 Huh?
@@tz5116 when the guy who thinks he had a "gotcha" reply comment actually failed to understand the original point 😅
20 hours into the base game a year ago ...same
@@tz5116 I think you need to reread shadowofnoc's comment again, carefully this time.
I hope we get a dredge style halo game where we pilot a pelican or something on a specific planet doing tasks for its people and learning about them and the mysteries of that planet something that doesn’t have to be a galaxy or unsc ending adventure but can still flesh out the halo universe
I bought it because I was convinced Bethesda would’ve listened and nailed it. Man, I was wrong. So bad, so so bad. They need to let it go and start again.
These roundups are always a highlight of my week! Shady Knight looks sweet.
6:55 - "Sharted Space" 😂😂😂
Todd Howard: "It's not how it launches, it's what it becomes."
Shigeru Miyamoto: "A delayed game is eventually good, but a rushed game is forever bad."
Laugh about Sonic mascott dancing all you want,
But I was jamming along and singing in that clip: "Follow me, Set me free.. Trust me and we will escape from the CITY!!! 😂"
