      Theres Mycenaean pottery found in somalia thats like 3000 years old

    Peter, another great post. I have read references of Chinese porcelain in the north west Africa regions, leading to speculation that the Chinese treasure ships (or fractions of) rounded the horn and traveled up the west coast. I think the more probable answer is the porcelain making it across the top of Muslim N Africa as trade goods.

    How well does porcelain last in salt water? I’m sure their plenty of ship wrecks off the coast of Africa, in that area.
