I remember way back when i had my (back then) new Mega Drive, and went out with my parents and brother to buy Road Rash and Madden, even back then going to Electronics Boutique in Southampton, i remember the games being £44.99! Went in about 2 months later and got Desert Strike. Possibly 3 of the best games that changed me in terms of what gaming was and could be. Here i am, 44 in September, and still loving gaming.
I had a Megadrive back in 1991, I bought it with my first pay-check at 16. Here I am at 49 and I have just won one on eBay to start the journey all over again. I’m glad I came here to pick up some tips again 😊
Nice collection. I have collecting for MD over a decade ago now. I've since hacked my Mega Drive Mini and have the whole library of Sega Megadrive/Genesis, Sega Mega CD, 32X and even the SG1000,Master System and Game Gear running on it. Takes up far less space and is less hassle, whilst I understand the perks of original hardware...this is good enough.
Great picks for the Mega Drive. Altered Beast is such a weird and wonderful game 😅 One little rec would be Kid Chameleon. Fun and challenging adventure platformer and usually pretty cheap.
New subscriber,great content and may I say, a really nice relaxing voice to listen too. I got started on the Comodore 64 a magic machine and didn't proceed past the PS2,i like a tape,cartridge or disc in my hand,downloading is just not the same.
You’ve got a nice collection, we have a very similar mindset and collection, I had the Disney collection with Castle of Illusion and QuackShot but sold it and got the games individually, I have the model 1 Mega Drive because I love how it looks and it has the headphone jack, my favourite Sonic game is Sonic 3 and Knuckles, I like Sonic 2 but it’s kind of overrated in my opinion, with Sonic 3 and Knuckle, it’s the best looking and playing game and it has my favourite soundtrack of all the Sonic games, of course Streets of Rage 2 is also my favourite game in the series and my favourite Mega Drive game. I feel Mega Drive games are more affordable to collect for in terms of retro systems, although it’s best games are getting expensive now, my most expensive game in my collection is Gunstar Heroes which I paid £163, if you like sports games I’d recommend EA Hockey which is less than a tenner on eBay, again great video and collection.
amazing video! i am 35 years old from the UK, growing up sega was my childhood memories, i am wanting to buy a megadrive again for nostalgia purposes, do you have any advice where i can get started? i wouldnt even know where to buy a megadrive these days, or roughly how much one should cost? and where is the best place to buy the games etc.. i want games like golden axe, marble madness, sonic, micro machines
My first Sega Mega Drive game was Sonic the Hedgehog AKA Sonic 1. Sonic 1 and Sonic 2 are my favorite Sega Mega Drive games, but if I had to pick between Sonic 1 and Sonic 2, I'd pick Sonic 1. I also love Mega Bomberman. :)

I think dragon was better on the SNES but megadrive had its better versions over SNES as well like Aladdin and Robocop Vs terminator were way better on the megadrive in my opinion megadrive recommend Ghostbusters
I always thought it was a massive shame codemasters decided to go with that strange knockout format for 2 player on micro machines, but understandable due to system constraints. Still fun though!
golden axe 2 has better music than the first. retro games have been so expensive to collect the last 15 years. i quit lol. but i started up again recently. i buy a little of everything from nes, to snes, to genesis. i dont collect every game, only what i like, remember, and hidden gems i never knew about.

i love dragon but im with you it is a hard game to master . i recommend cannon fodder if you dont have it

the mini 2 is excellent. has Final Fight CD. i bought a wireless usb 6 button genesis controller for mine, works great.
