My former boss got me into emu care by giving me Straya's egg and she taught me a lot before she passed away. Straya was hatched in an incubator at my house and slept in my bed until she was about 3 months old. She even used to go on walks with an emu harness I rigged up! She was raised alongside a group a 5 baby emus we got a from fellow emu farmer so she would have friends to grow up with. She's now a good six feet tall and weighs well over 100 pounds. I can even call her over by whistling and raise her beak up to give her a kiss, haha. She's really gentle and playfull. Ill have to upload some videos of the birds at the farm and when they were still babies. Sorry for typing a paragraph, haha. I enjoy talking about my birds and don't get many chances.
