I used to get really frustrated at people who cough in concerts... until I had to cough in a concert. I tried to hold it and I thought I might die. I started tearing up, I got hot red and when I finally did cough it was louder than if I had just done it quickly right away. So yeah I now have sympathy for all concert coughers.
hahaha yeah , but i mean it doesn't feal right to rexord these concerts with audience , it is a different experience to be there and listen to a concert , but if i am home alone and need to listen to some classical music , i prefer to have some profesional studio - amphitheater recording instead
John Williams stole this for the closing credits to Close Encounters. But wasn't so good at it. About 20 seconds in. th-cam.com/video/4-jdkM2q5t0/w-d-xo.html
@freemind1120 , Listen to this, this piece has the same tiresomely delicious sound, the fourth part of this work clearly served as inspiration for Debussy: th-cam.com/video/ggpQjx5hLag/w-d-xo.htmlsi=NT1yKiP5eNn21bXV
I might go as far as to say this single piece is one of man's greatest achievements. As Ravel once said, it is a perfect composition, which only Debussy could achieve. Its complete perfection - not even one not displaced.
Claude Debussy Prelude a l'apres midi d'un faune Berliner Philharmoniker Billy Straus, conductor August 18, 2017 Santa Fe Station Hotel & Casino, Las Vegas
Before listening: I have to conduct this in my first year conducting class, and so far I have vocally objected the piece because of the revolting and uncomfortable vision of masturbation and an orgasm on stage center. I will try to listen to it unattached to the ballet context, and relay my experience after listening to it in full. After listening: I already came to this piece with some antagonism. I had to Google mid-lesson, and this prelude does not include the literal masturbation, so a load has been lifted. I disagree with Boulez on the claim that this is the turning point in music, and I attribute that claim to his string quartet. At the end of it all, the devil is not that bad.
We all love that part... ❤️ I just find it so beautiful when this exact motif is repeated in the strings just a few seconds later (5:13) for an expressivo effect... Amazing!!!

The only composer who was capable of writing a truly "perfect' piece.
Ravel said that about this piece

Wow, an interesting version I didn't know: with choir (of coughing).
lol perfect. Mam with headphones is NO GO
A true gem, and quite rare as it requires a coughing choir.

For me it’s 6:14

Spot on. I always think - If there were music in heaven .... and there would have to be .... how could it be possibly be more perfect than this?.
@@Sheffield6688 that's very subjective but I respect it

Thanks so much for posting this... It's a far cry from scratching about with trying to follow along with the music using miniature scores... :)

How to change the world with a ten minute orchestral composition.
