This is a deeply underrated channel. Whoever is in charge of video direction clearly has a great grasp of the score (in every single video released).
Still it has almost 400 000 followers...
Just now it has 394 000 subscribers, one of them is me. So I really dont understand, Wesley, why you and 33 thumbs up regard it as an underrated channel? It lives and produces many fascinating uptakings. Are you from US?

Can someone please get Ms. Clara to do more soloist spots. The only thing on youtube is the Ibert piece and I have already worn it on playing it on repeat. I enjoy her musicality so much. Her tone soothes my soul. More Clara more more more!

Claude Debussy: Prelude a l’apres-midi d’un faune ( Prelude to the Afternoon of a Faun) is a masterpiece, magical, emotional, extraordinary, gives imagination to awakening from afternoon sleep. Flute melody is dreamlike….So is the interpretation by hr-Sinfonieorchester- Frankfurt Radio Symphony (I adore) under the baton of amazing conductor Alain Altinoglu.

Wonderful moment at 10:34. Principle Oboe Nicolas Cock-Vassiliou turns behind him and shakes hands with Principle Clarinet Tomaž Močilnik and then all four principle woodwinds share congratulations. Clara Andrada de la Calle is the brightest star in this fabulous performance but brilliance is the result of virtuosity within the total ensemble.

This is a masterpiece in using all of an orchestras capacity. Debussy knew it, and we can feel it, today.

Isn't Clara fabulous. She is the gem of the HR orchestra. After hearing and watching her play this I had to scan thru all of the HR concerts I could find on line to hear more of her playing. They even have her doing a lot of real solo work. Wow!

Wonderful interpretation and wonderful conducting. I've had the chance to speak a bit with Alain Altinoglu at some rehearsals at La Monnaie. He's such a kind person.
The blending between flute and oboe solos are great. Wood winds students should listen to them...

Wunderschöne und nuancierte Aufführung dieses impressionistischen und perfekt komponierten Meisterwerks mit farbenreichen doch perfekt entsprechenden Tönen aller Instrumente. Die Virtuosität aller Einzelspieler ist wahrlich eindrucksvoll. Der intelligente und geniale Chefdirigent leitet das hoch funktionelle Orchester im gut analysierten Tempo und mit sorgfältig kontrollierter Dynamik. Wunderbar vom Anfang bis zum Ende!
Eines meiner All-time-Highs der klassischen Musik! Höre ich immer wieder gerne seit 40 Jahren, und diese Aufführung ist einfach grandios! Die Flöte am Anfang verursacht Gänsehaut pur!

Tolles Orchester, die das blasse Dirigat gut kaschieren. Allen voran Frau Andrada de la Calle! Was für ein wunderbar sonoren, zarten, rhythmisch schwebenden Klang ihre Flöte hat - Weltklasse! Das macht ein Pahud oder Auer auch nicht besser.

Wholly original masterpiece! The year before this Jean Sibelius composed 'The Swan of Tuonela', creating an impression of atmosphere & mystery similar to Debussy. Debussy could not of known that piece so I see the similarities as evidence that great minds think alike.

Man nimmt diese Musik mittlerweile ja so selbstverständlich hin.
Wenn man aber mal eine kleine Hörreise macht und Werke vergleicht die zeitgleich geschrieben worden sind und sich dann in Jahresschritten die letzten 10 Jahre vor der Komposition annähert, dann merkt man erst wie aussergewöhnlich dieses Werk ist.
Nicht Stravinskys Sacre ist der Beginn der Moderne. Das hier ist es.
