- Why are grids so useful to graphic designers? How can we use grids to better our artwork, and what are the main applications for them? Todays video on why grids are so useful will explain everything.
There are many reasons why grids are useful, and yes some people will say they are not needed in graphic design. Sure. I don't always use a grid, but there are many instances where the graphic design you're working on, would benefit from applying a grid.
If you're designing a magazine article, poster, logo, business card or whatever it is, keeping in mind the use of grids will surely benefit you. I talk about why that is in the video today.
Aside from keeping designs orderly and neat, I really like using grids to create visual hierarchy, it makes things so easy as a designer.But what about you, do you use grids for your graphic design artwork?

I used to think that grids only stifled creativity, but in reality, restraints can often breed creativity.
I find it challenging to work with grids in Photoshop or Illustrator, I find it tedious to set them up en often it takes a lot of effort. I love the way indesign handles gids and how easy it is to setup a grid in figma.
I also don't understand why Photoshop does not offer bleed settings for print projects. Insanity
