My first Bike 6 years ago was a 2007 Kawasaki ZX6-R and I have no regrets. I respected the fact that this was a powerful machine. It was a bike I grew into and eventually started to track it. Now I have a 2020 BMW S1000RR M and I'm in love with it!
This video inspired me in a different way, I am glad I found you! I'm also a content creator and it's inspiring to see a channel succeed in this field! great job man! Have fun and ride safe! All the way from South Africa!
I’ve been riding probably around 2 years but have had my endorsement for 4. And it’s the best stress relief ever! I’m so happy because I just got a 2020 R1 and is amazing. Love your videos!!! Would fully recommend the msf course too!
You’re absolutely right, you said it perfectly. Also notice because of guys like you and motovlogs people are riding more motorcycles and its keeping the passion going.
You inspired me after the ruckus build series to build my first motorcycle, it’s a Honda cb550 and all I have to paint the tank and hook the set up then I’ll be out on the road I appreciate the vid, keep it up !
I been riding an r3 for about a year now, and I love it. Found myself making mistakes that could’ve been grave on a 600 or 1000, and each time I dropped it whether it be deliberate slow speed practice or just hopping off too quick, I never got upset about it. I once dropped my R3 6 miles at about 1am away from home when I was out practicing u turns. The foot peg snapped, and the gear shifter got wedged in between the shift rod and frame of the bike. Tried bending it with my hands, ended up going into 6th gear and I though I could ride it out, only to have the clutch seize up. Had to walk my bike over a buncha hills till I got home at 4:30 am with no battery on my Phone the whole way through. Though, the entire time going back home, I thought about why it dropped, what I could’ve done & what I didn’t do, and put the dots together. It made the drop actually more beneficial to my skill than it did to my wallet, and parts on these bikes are pretty cheap. That being said, I’ve been looking into the S1000RR as my second bike coming up this summer. Reason why I would want that bike over a 600 is due to rider aids & electronics. I don’t wanna power wheelie into the sky if I hit a bump and maybe twist my wrist suddenly (live in NYC potholes are horrible) & all else is just beneficial to top it off. The ride by wire throttles oppose to the cable actuated ones feel more smooth & precise to me, after having tried the throttle on an R1. I’m assuming it’ll feel the same if not better on the s1000rr. On top of all that, due to emissions the bike’s power band is neutered, and I feel like getting a better feel for the difference in throttle control from a 321cc to a 1000cc will be helped with that gutted power band. I’m fully aware it’s still gonna be really really fast, but it won’t blast off in comparison to competitors at least. Then you got the heated grips option which is a must for me. TLDR: is the s1000rr a good bike for someone riding an R3 for about a year? Sat on 1000’s and 600’s so I know how the riding position is
Bought an Kawasaki er6n as my first bike (3 years ago) with very decent km on it. Best deal I could do as I paid half the price than the other ones on the market. I still have it and I can recommend it to all beginners.
Yay! First thing you mention is that R3 build! I have a 2020 R3, my first bike. Don’t even have my endorsement yet due to the coronavirus, MSF is shut down. I got a really good deal at the start of the coronavirus. I’ve already swapped parts, installed parts, have plans for the TST Industries WORX Pack, and a full Yoshimura R77. I should have gotten a 2015 R3, but I plan on keeping the R3 long term anyways. The 2020 BMW S1000RR is my dream bike too! I wanted the R3, I waited over a year doing research, comparing entry level bikes, watching 100’s of TH-cam videos throughout the winter. I knew this was the bike for me, it’s my entry level dream bike. In a few years I’ll have a pre-owned 2020 S1000RR. And yes I’m prepared to buy/install new fairings, I’m sure I’ll drop it sometime.
Makes me chuckle that most people who jab at the R3 or similar are people who don't even own a bike. Your comment about feeling "giddy as a school girl" is so accurate. I feel like i'm having too much fun on the R3 than the 6. Don't get me wrong, I absolutely love wielding power and the roar of the bigger bikes get me excited, but it's pure pleasure from start to finish on the R3 for me.
Yes buying your bike during the winter might save you money BUT if your country/state has a big motorcycle event once a year the bikes will be cheapest about half a year before that. In Finland the event is usually either late February or early March which means that the bikes are cheapest around September. This is also great because it's near to the end of the riding season in Finland which means there will be more bikes available and you usually still have time to test ride them as snow has yet to fall down from the sky and temperatures stick just above 0°c so the roads aren't slippery. Have to add: the time of the year mostly only affects shops selling new bikes because they need to make room for the new releases.
I bought my first streetbike this past winter. I got a killer deal on an 09’ r6. I wasn’t a stranger to riding though I grew up my whole life racing motorcross. & I absolutely LOVE this thing. I ride it every single day. I’ve been customizing it a lot & at some point I’d like to sell it & get an R1 but for now my current bike is everything is I dreamed it to be.
My first bike that I bought this past October was a 2017 Yamaha R3. I got a really nice price on it, along with all the extras I'd want for it. It has an M4 exhaust, frame sliders, integrated tail light, and halo front signals. Just like Moto said, buying my bike in October was a great idea. The R3 being my first bike has be absolutely fantastic. I'm under 150 lbs and under 6 foot tall. The bike fits me great, and has been a blast. Within a few rides I felt comfortable and very confident. Yesterday was the first day of my MSF course. I can't wait to take my test, and continue to learn. I believe I possibly picked the perfect bike for me after going to a few dealers and sitting on some bikes. Motonosity, thanks for the amazing content as always.
Bought first bike around 2009 from my uncle ; was a 1996 Yamaha VStar 650. I only paid for maintenance on that bike, left it all stock. Rode that for about 3 years then got rid of it when I moved. Second bike 2017; got a 2009 CBR600RR. I had always wanted a sportsbike. Ended up commuting to work on bike (at least wanting to), but was not a fan of sportsbike ergo for long amount of time. Put about $1500 in aftermarket parts on it. Just last month traded in the CBR for a 2019 CB650R. The CB has been great so far.
Have fun with that little thing my man! I had a grom and put 45.000km / 28.000 miles on the bike before I sold it haha, regular maintanence and it never missed a beat! Few minutes of warmup and then it basically lived its life on max throttle and rev limiterr wherever I went. Honda reliability! Stay safe.
I know you hate the turn signal error popping up on the dash as much as I do. I'm going to be running a fix for my S1KRR, super simple. The pigtail connectors are the same as on a Mercedes, so I found some blanks on Aliexpress, and bought some tiny LEDs on ebay. I'm going to make these connectors small enough to fit behind the dash plate where the connectors are but they're going to complete the circuit so it doesn't throw the code while still retaining the block off plates.
I personally got into motorcycles due too watching British superbikes and MotoGP my step dad had a zx7r. And since then boom! Got the bug been riding since i was 10. Not got bored yet.
The thing with buying a used bike is if it's economical. Here in Belgium brand new Japanese bikes are cheaper than the used ones. People sometimes overestimate the price for their bike. (Note: bikes 2 to 3 years old)
I don't completely agree with your point here. The way i see it, one should get the bike they like. It might not be the best suited for the type of riding they do the most, but you won't get tired of it if it's the bike you want and love. I got myself a 2017 R6 the same day it became available in my country. I daily commute on it, i have travels around europe, i use it for the weekend mountain rides, i hit the track with it. Is it the best bike for traveling or commuting? Not at all. Do i love it? YES! Would i change it? No! (unless it's for a 2015+ R1 😜). I get around 10/12'000 Km a year on my bike by commuting only, that's a hell of a lot of commuting...... 😁
I didn’t say you shouldn’t get a bike you like. I said you don’t need to find the perfect bike. Because as someone who’s never owned a bike before, you really don’t know the nuances that make a bike perfect for you! By buying something you that you can learn on and sell at no loss, you’re reducing (or eliminating) all risk, allowing yourself to figure out what you do and don’t like and saving yourself the money of overspending for a bike you think is perfect for you. There’s no rush. You don’t have to get it right on the first bike.
Just made a deal on a 2006 r6 a few days ago for cheap. It is my first street bike, granted I have years experience on a 1999 kx250 two stroke. Yes, street is a different ball game than the dirt but I'm so hyped to go ride with friends.
My first bike was brand new and cost £1700, Keyway RKV 125 just to learn on until I done my full licence tests, they are one of, if not the best Chinese made motorcycles that were well designed by Benelli. I probably lost £600-£700 when I upgraded, some of that loss was because I was impatient and traded it in rather than waiting for a sale.
Here in the Netherlands the cost of getting a motorcycle license is around 500 dollars. Then you can maximum ride a 125 cc (Class A1 driver license). And in America you can get it for 150 bucks? 🙃
Dope Beamer, had the opportunity to ride my buddies 2017 fully modded and that bike is nuts, fell in love instantly. Wasn’t a fan of the throttle, really twitchy/loose feeling with the drive by wire system.
For my first bike I bough a used 2014 Cbr500r. Got it last November. I use it for work (30miles away) and for the weekends. I want a better bike lol. So you’ll figure out how to use them as you practice.
been watching your content for a while I've brought myself a project 2001 zx9r ninja that should be complete in next couple weeks.its had a full respray in nardo grey with flourescent yellow wheels also flourescent yellow decals yellow screen and yellow head lights. its been jetted with full stainless exhaust and carbon can with carbon rear wheel hugger and carbon levers also full smoked led lights including rears ive also fitted rear seat cowel and crash bobbins also had frame sprayed black and quick release fuel cap. ive only ever ridden 125s but I've my full test next month I can't wait
First ride was a 150 scooter everybody gave me shit about it so i jumped to a 76 cb750ss loved that bike but too old wasn't a good daily so i went and got a 13 ninja 300 which i still get shit for but its got neons, aftermarket ecu,leo vince exhaust and shorty levers love it i have only been riding 4 years and the 115mph i have been on it is faster than i even need to be going on a regular depending on your body size a small displacement bike is a good starter or long term bike mine for me being a short smaller guy is perfect for longer term
The whole point of riding a motorcycle isnt to go fast or to take corners as hard as possible, even if that's what you made it to be. It's meant to put a smile on your face and that's the soul purpose of it. If it doesnt make u smile then I recommend taking a step back and re-analyzing your situation and work on what u really think would make u happy even if that means downgrading or dumping money into your bike. Whatever makes you happy is what you should have.
what a great great great video this was so much helpful and informative more than you think . Long time subscriber . Ride safe bro and keep it props all the way from Saudi Arabia :)
In my case I fall I love with the R1 many years ago having a lot of experience, never on bike that big but my first ride was great and I’m happy I when big
Hey moto I learnt how to ride on a r1 now i own 3 600s . i ride all kinds of bikes, i rode a 2018 africa twin and i fell in love. I think it will be my next bike.
@kardo if you can afford it you should go for the 500! I just bought my rebel 500 about a month ago and I’m already finding myself wanting more power, so I can only imagine the thought for a 300. But it also just depends on why you want it and what your needs are, if you only need a 300 then do that, but just giving a heads up!
Good advice, but for new riders with more driving experience and some control and self awareness some of the higher performing “learner” bikes such as MT/FZ07/XSR700, ST660 and SC650 might be Ok.
Just turned 66 and I’m looking to buy my second new motorcycle I’ve had many bikes from 90 Suzuki’s to 1100 Yamaha‘s I’m really looking at the F 900 R BMW The only two cylinder bike I’ve ever owned was a 305 Honda scrambler boy am I dating myself anyways the 890 duke has caught my sites as well plenty of experience but everything I’m looking at is a two cylinder. Maybe I should just get the 1290 super duke or a street fighter love to hear your opinion on this just started getting into TH-cam almost a year now and there’s so much to choose from let me know what you think. With COVID-19 I haven’t been able to test drive anything we’re just making it that much more difficult
Currently my dream bike is going to be the r25m(malaysia so it is r25) , with a 4 cylinder , maybe 2021 will come out. So im saving money not to buy 2nd r25, but a new r25M
Hi there ! I have a question about the ruckus scooter , are they legal to ride on street in NYC ? Do I need License and registration to ride ? Thank you
I would also add after you get that novice off your license go to as many demo rides as you can. Try all different types of bikes even if you may not feel to interested in it. A test ride might give you a different opinion about it and it will help you figure out what you really want.
So yeah my question is about ASV levers. I just picked up an R3. My first bike is a 160cc street legal pit bike and it is a blast around town. Should I get both shortys or shorty brake and standard clutch lever?
I’m a big guy and everyone has told me to start on a 1000 but I’ve never ridden before! Either my friends are trying to kill me or they’re 100% correct I dunno. My girl’s brother passed away on a bike and just doesn’t want me to get one at all but I need to feel the speed for myself.
Judge Dredd I’d definitely recommend against starting on a big bike...Even a middleweight bike like an MT-07 will have lots of grunt even for a big guy, and it’s a bike that you won’t outgrow.
Don't hurt yourself. Being fast doesn't come from wanting to go fast. If you've never ridden before this is the worst thing you can do! Ride! Gather experience. Ride at your own pace! When you get a feel for motorcycle Dynamics you will start to naturally ride faster. But if I can give you one key advice: care about you cornering line and safe behaviour on the street :) trust me that will make you FAST and SAFE ;)
well currently im riding yamaha 155 cc R15 which also includes my daily commute and its a great bike.. now i feel like i want an adv bike around 300cc but dont want to sell the bike.. also being yamaha fanboy was waiting for like tracer 300 or something if buying new.. so i dont know what would be better.. BTW im from Nepal and even 300 cc are expensive over here...
That’s what I did got a bike for commuting 2014 ninja 300 beat the shit out of it put 24K miles on it then got rid of it in 2016 and bought a ZX6R which I still have now and I kinda want a ZX-10 😩. Only regret was buying my first bike new but I didn’t want someone’s used and abused shit.
If you grew up riding dirt bikes or a friend teaches you or etc, you can show up and take the test at the dmv and the license is $32 and you don’t have to renew for 8 years
Love your video man you are my Inspiration and why I ride ,also I wanted to get your opinion on something i ride 2011 Gxsr-1000 with ecu flash taylormade exhaust cat deleted need a good are filter what you Recommend?
I have a ninja 650r. I absolutely love it. I get shit for not having a real ninja all the time lol. Its never let me down. I've riden in hurricanes going to work. Thunder storms. Gravel, dirt roads. I absolutely love it. I have a 2015 r1, harley xl1200ns sportster and the ninja. The ninja is my daily for a 160 mile round trip.
Small bikes are way more fun, because they are "worse". Riding a bike to the limit(also not just straight lines, Americans) is the best, and you won't even get to 30% of most bikes nowadays before going jail speeds.
You do not need a big, powerful, or expensive bike to adventure and have fun. TH-cam c90adventures, this guy travels the world on the cheapest bike on the planet. Haven't heard from him in a while though so I hope he's doing OK.

Another note, get gap insurance aswell, espically if you buy new.
If new, yes. If you need it for something used, you’re overpaying or financing for way too long.
Do not finance gap. Go through your insurance company if they offer it.

been watching your content for a while I've brought myself a project 2001 zx9r ninja that should be complete in next couple weeks.its had a full respray in nardo grey with flourescent yellow wheels also flourescent yellow decals yellow screen and yellow head lights. its been jetted with full stainless exhaust and carbon can with carbon rear wheel hugger and carbon levers also full smoked led lights including rears ive also fitted rear seat cowel and crash bobbins also had frame sprayed black and quick release fuel cap. ive only ever ridden 125s but I've my full test next month I can't wait
I'm thinking about a honda rebel 300, imma get it, every one says it's the best beginner bike!
That sounds like a great beginner bike man, ride safe and enjoy!
@@whowhatwuh yeah gonna buy it next week, took the MSF course before the corona shit lol, been waiting for it all the time to buy a motorcycle
My first bike is a 08’ Kawasaki Ninja 250R and I’ve had it for 3 weeks and I’m already trying to get a GISXR750
2012 r6 as first bike and its super fun, just be smart with it
my MSF course was 200 here in colorado.
Good advice, but for new riders with more driving experience and some control and self awareness some of the higher performing “learner” bikes such as MT/FZ07/XSR700, ST660 and SC650 might be Ok.
1st 2001 kawasaki ex500 ,2nd 2002 r6 ,3rd 2004 r6 ,4th 2010 r6 & now on a 2016 fz09. Bought all as new
Just bought a 2020 636 Ninja on Tuesday.
My first bike was a ruckus, I love it and even after getting a bunch of hate, I still grin like an idiot when I ride it. 🛵💨💨
Because it’s amazing, Small bikes have loads of personality and nothing is more fun than that
First big bike for me was the ninja 650 great beginner bike! Still have it now I want the S1K :)
With COVID-19 I haven’t been able to test drive anything we’re just making it that much more difficult
last time i was this early i was allowed to go outside
Too bad that you didnt finish the S1000RR man , you can make it for sure waaaaaay better
It needs a full six carbon fiber tank. The white tank with the carbon is killing me I hate it.
@@Raiken333 it needs way more than that , the little things is what makes it super awesome like for example the bmw logos at the sides
Waiting for zx-25r for my first bike. A 250cc inline 4.. Really interesting motorcycle.🏍️😉
When I bought my first bike, i realized i need to try many other different bikes, and now I have 10 :)
Great content ! My dream is a BMW S1000RR how many miles you put on it since you bought it ??
My first bike was a Honda 350
I'm on a gsxr600 and I think it's perfect for me.
My current bike is a Yamaha MT 07 tracer.
Some very solid advice sir!
I paid $50 for the msf course
Me to. It’s different state to state. Some states are really ripping people off.
@@WoodyRides I'm not surprised. It doesn't matter because I still dont have a motorcycle
The msf course here cost 370 and that includes the e-course
That's expensive. Almost worth checking the county over and traveling. They run $125-150 here in the Tampa Bay area
almost at 600k... congrats man
You can rent any size bike, style of bike, nowadays, for about 30 to 100 bucks a day.
Why would you do that tho :0
I love living in the Leander area. Maybe I’ll see you riding around one day.
I wonder what do you think of the mt-07 as a first bike?
Currently my dream bike is going to be the r25m(malaysia so it is r25) , with a 4 cylinder , maybe 2021 will come out. So im saving money not to buy 2nd r25, but a new r25M
Does the leather jacket come with the bike?
I just got a r3 and have hit 117 on it
Just Google "Honda cd70" I ride that as my daily commute.
Mera bhai😂😂
I love it
Legend. Ramadan Karim
MSF course in Ohio is $50
Me to. It’s different state to state. Some states are really ripping people off.
So yeah my question is about ASV levers. I just picked up an R3. My first bike is a 160cc street legal pit bike and it is a blast around town. Should I get both shortys or shorty brake and standard clutch lever?
Get a full length brake lever. When it counts, you’ll want to use all 4 fingers on that lever.
Whatever you just told is my life experience with motorcycles
I’m a big guy and everyone has told me to start on a 1000 but I’ve never ridden before! Either my friends are trying to kill me or they’re 100% correct I dunno. My girl’s brother passed away on a bike and just doesn’t want me to get one at all but I need to feel the speed for myself.
maybe its time for new friends
Judge Dredd I’d definitely recommend against starting on a big bike...Even a middleweight bike like an MT-07 will have lots of grunt even for a big guy, and it’s a bike that you won’t outgrow.
BMW 1000SS is my dream bike, one day
Putting together my 2010 ninja 250 just need my parts to come in lol, yeah it’s not fast but I’ll damn sure keep up in the corners 😈
Don't hurt yourself. Being fast doesn't come from wanting to go fast. If you've never ridden before this is the worst thing you can do! Ride! Gather experience. Ride at your own pace! When you get a feel for motorcycle Dynamics you will start to naturally ride faster. But if I can give you one key advice: care about you cornering line and safe behaviour on the street :) trust me that will make you FAST and SAFE ;)
the camera is just too good
well currently im riding yamaha 155 cc R15 which also includes my daily commute and its a great bike..
now i feel like i want an adv bike around 300cc but dont want to sell the bike..
also being yamaha fanboy was waiting for like tracer 300 or something if buying new..
so i dont know what would be better..
Very well said my man!!!
Waiting for the new graphics and paintjob on that carbon fiber parts
man i gotta get my 85 honda sabre fixed up the rest of the way, if your ever in san antonio and want to try and old v4, hit me up!
$125 for the MSF course?! I got ripped off! I paid $349!
Can you make a tutorial how to edit your motovlog's ??? Thx 😁
You should try a burgmen 650
I can ride but never owned a litter bike I want a s1000 for sure
125$ for a license? I just paid ~2500$🙃
Greetings from Denmark...
$125 is for the course, which isn't required. Actually getting your license is way cheaper.
@@motonosity It seems so crazy to me that it is not required. Here you can't ride anything other than a bicycle without license.
About $1000 AUD here in Australia for a full motorbike licence (can’t ride above 600cc for beginner have to wait 2 yrs)
If you grew up riding dirt bikes or a friend teaches you or etc, you can show up and take the test at the dmv and the license is $32 and you don’t have to renew for 8 years
Satiainen- he was saying the msf course isn’t required. A license is definitely required for a motorcycle here in the states.
I'm selling my fist bike for a R1. Going from a 07 gsxr 600 to the 2022 R1. 🤙🏻
What about a harley rider changing to super bike?
Buy used ... Theres no 2020/2021 s1000 rr used
Love your video man you are my Inspiration and why I ride ,also I wanted to get your opinion on something i ride 2011 Gxsr-1000 with ecu flash taylormade exhaust cat deleted need a good are filter what you Recommend?
Try a Ducati Multistrada 1200 the old one and maybe the NEW 1260 they will blow your minde pls 🥺
2007 R6 for my first bike. Just need to be smart, have a healthy respect for the machine, and don't try to keep up with guys beyond your skill level.
Bought a RC 213 V-S as my first bike.for a low price of 180k
I live at FT. Hood curious if you would know anyone selling a 2017 r6 or newer or a 2015 r1 or newer.
enjoyed the video!
What do you think about a Ninja 500R??
I have a ninja 650r. I absolutely love it. I get shit for not having a real ninja all the time lol. Its never let me down. I've riden in hurricanes going to work. Thunder storms. Gravel, dirt roads. I absolutely love it. I have a 2015 r1, harley xl1200ns sportster and the ninja. The ninja is my daily for a 160 mile round trip.
Msf $300 in NYC !
Small bikes are way more fun, because they are "worse". Riding a bike to the limit(also not just straight lines, Americans) is the best, and you won't even get to 30% of most bikes nowadays before going jail speeds.
I'm showing this to my wife.
You do not need a big, powerful, or expensive bike to adventure and have fun. TH-cam c90adventures, this guy travels the world on the cheapest bike on the planet. Haven't heard from him in a while though so I hope he's doing OK.
