Yeah, we get a child care benefit in Denmark, for each child. It varies from 3000-4700 DKK per child, which is $433 to $679 every quarter. The older the child is, the less we get.
The money is not because people are poor in Denmark, but because the birth rate was very low, when it was introduced, and still is. Last time I checked, each family had 1.7 child on average, meaning the population is shrinking too much.
The only reason the population is growing, is because of immigrants.

A socialist is not the samme as a social democrate. A socialist wants to share everything. A Social democrate wants - hey democracy - and kapitalism while still having a wealthfare system and a system that looks out for the weak citizens. Judge a society by how they are it is treating its poorest people and not by the number of Billionaires

A fun story, my friend was 18 years old and started Education and could get su ( money you get paid for going to School here in Denmark) but when she wrote for it, they Said that she could not, as she was not danish. Lol her family and her, had not thought about that they was from Norway before she was born. So at 18 years old, born and raised, she had to aply for citizenship. ❤️❤️

Daycare prices vary considerably from one municipality to the next. Enough that it is something people with kids take into consideration when choosing a place to live.

      Isn't it a bit more?
I think 7k USD is the absolute minimum.
I think most people have between 1-2k tax-free a month. With transportation, A-Kasse, interest on loans, and many other deductibles.

Same in Germany. And I write it ever and ever again. Healthcare is not free and Education is also not free in Europe.

Education is completely free in Scandinavia, also all University Education. Healthcare and dentalcare is completely free uptil that your 18 or 20 years old. And after that healtcare is very cheap, compared to the US. You never pay more for a whole year than 100 dollars - no matter if you need openheart-surgery or whatever it could be. Medication is also very cheap/subsidized - which is also the case for preeschool and elderlycare which is available for everyone, of the same high standard.

Not only is Education free in Denmark, but you get paid SU (Statens Uddannelsesstøtte) If you are above 18, and currently under education you are eligible for these subsidies. ~100 - 300 USD a month, depending on your parents well-fare status and occupation status, if they are married etc. These are among some of the different factors that determines how much you are allowed to get.

If you are a single parent in Denmark with a low income or in education, you can apply for free kindergarten. If you have 2 or more children attending kindergarten and you have a regular income, you pay full price for child no. 1 and you get a discount for the next.
When it comes to work ethic in Denmark, it is very high, we value having a job and contributing to society

Every time we spend money we get taxed again with value added taxes at 25% on both items and services. Since the VAT has to be added as the last item on a bill what ever additional taxes the government is putting on the bill is also VAT taxed. So basicly you also pay tax on the taxes.

This 22 dollar an hour, is no what people get in there hands, its more about how much it costs as working hour!
Becuse all employeer mandatory pay there employes social security and pension fees.. included 25 days anualy payd vacation!
Soo, the employer keep a part that they pays out, when there employe goes on vacation!
Its a lot more complicated then this.. but newbi burgerflippers still have one of the lowest salaries!

Dar here in Oz the minimum wage is $22 an hr or $813 per week
It's now adjusted annually to cover the inflation rate etc. Although most workers receive a much higher remuneration.

We don't actually have a socialist party at the moment. The biggest political party is the 'social democrats' and it's a middle party. All left wing parties are bound together in electoral alliances

If Denmark is a socialist, the US will also be a Socialist country. I just have to say US Postal Service.
It is easy to find out if a country is a Socialist or not. Socialism do not accept private ownership (business), simple.

The simpelst way to understand citizenship in dk is "a horse don't become a cow just because it was born in the same barn". Is it fair? maybe not.
And yes most see it completty different then americans as we don't give a f about your ethnicity we see nationality or religion/culture. And that goes back to the bronze age(4000-5000bc) with all the wars and immigration in europe that made it that way.
Just think about it atleast 7000 years of people moving around and taken other tribes/nations land and treasure. So it is bound to be that way.
