Hey Zac just to let you know because I saw Hank in the shop, antifreeze smells and tastes sweet so dogs have an inclination to lick it so keep an eye on him. That's why I don't let my dog come into my shop. Good luck with the truck!!
Glad to see Zach wrenching on his own truck! It’s so much more satisfying when you get it all done and you did it yourself. It’s also good for if you’re driving and something breaks cuz u know exactly what it probably was that broke. Good job Zach!!!! Now you just gotta get Mike Aka Dom to work on something cool like that. Take his purse and give him a set of sockets or something.
I'm really liking Zac's technical videos. Goes into really good detail. While other videos are good, some stuff might occasionally get sped over to get everything in a decent length video. Way to go man! Truck is going to be sick! 🤙
The Billet Specialties Tru trac was an excellent choice for your build. We include the Edelbrock water pump, ATI balancer, Powermaster 170 AMP alternator, Saden SD-7 AC Compressor, and all of the Black Anodized brackets and pulleys
Zac, watching you build this C10 is making me miss the 1975 C10 stepside I had 30 years ago in high school, 350 4 bolt, and that baby would run, thanks for reminding me.
Just be thankful your core support bolts out. I've drilled out ones that are welded in and it's a hell of a job. Never been threw so many bits in my life.
The same type of u-bolts are used to mount the rear axle to all leaf spring vehicles... never heard or seen any break... but billet caps would be trick lol
@@zrsnopro97 The rear end is so archeological I'm trying not to think about it. One piece large billet caps for each side, with shallow splines on the mating surface to bite into the control arm.
You know I just rewatched videos 1 & 2 on this truck and wondered what tha hell happened to it and boom this video dropped...glad to see progress on it, awesome build I’m loving it!
I def like the look Zac has going with his c10. My roots are in mini trucks. My 1st vehicle was a gen 2 S-10. I started with cut springs & lowering blocks, and eventually ended up on full air, reverse 4 link, full step bridge/x member, boxed rails, drop spindles, laying it on the ground w/20"s. The reason i bring all that up, is because the experience of learning about vehicles through having the truck, caused me to forever have a soft spot for slammed pickup's. When i saw the episode where they dropped this C10 & it showed the process for doing the rear, i have to admit, i cringed a little. It's probably just the mini trucker snob in me, but i hate seeing ppl run bolt it c notches! If you're gonna commit to cutting 2/3's of your c channel frame rails between the leaf spring mounts, at least weld in the braces for the notch & box them. Connecting the rails together w/a piece of tubing wouldn't hurt either. Now hes gonna slam a LS in & throw a bunch of torque through the drive train. That area of frame directly over the axle, is already under tension being btwn the two leaf brackets, but its also getting twist load from engine tq. The stock rails arent really that stout to begin with. Now each of them has a 3" notch with plates bolted together to re-enforce them. Please box that area & weld in the plates! Ok im finished. I feel better now. Lol
I love the duality of paying my mortgage, bills, loans, cutting my grass, generally being responsible and then immediately watching Zac put an irresponsible amount of HP/TQ in a street truck. #StayIrresponsible

I have to say that I am definitely an advocate of cleaning up your holes. Keep those holes clean people. You don't want to have to pay the troll toll to get into the hole.
As I recall any manufacture a truck from that generation made it where you could undo the body mounts disconnect the doghouse from cab and pull the entire front end off of them and doing some of the wiring harness is where confusing why we took off every single part section instead of just taking the entire assembly off the front end.
Man I love this truck... Very rarely I see a build that is 100% to my taste but this is just flawless. I must say this doesn't help my square body fever. Not one bit.

Staff inspection
Zack: paint everything
Brian: remove rusted bolts
Hert: sit back and watch
Dan: finish a entire car in a day

Gary: provide inappropriately low back pats
