    I've always wanted to be an exchange student back in high school but sadly my school didn't have that as part of the curriculum. This video is making me really want to go to Denmark and visit the places you mentioned. But more so, for future reference, if we have kids 😃 and have them study abroad. I would love that experience for them.

    • @JackieEm

      That would be so fun for your future child to experience! Or maybe you can all travel as a family one day ❤️

      American expats in DK. Check out "Travelin Young, Robe Trotting, my new Danish life and Erin in Copenhagen". All Americans with each there own perspective about living here 😊 Good and bad! Denmark is a good place to raise your future kids ❤ ! Jackie. Hope it's OK that I'm telling about the expats, since your back in the States. You come back now - you hear 😁

    Freetown Christiania, also known as Christiania ), is an intentional community and commune of about 850 to 1,000 residents, in the borough of Christianshavn in the Danish capital city of Copenhagen.
    Christiania has been a source of controversy since its creation in a squatted military area in 1971. Its cannabis trade was tolerated by authorities until 2004. Since then, relations between Christiania and Danish authorities have been strained. Since the beginning of the 2010s, the situation has been somewhat normalized and Danish law is now enforced in Christiania
    It have been viewed upon as a social experiment.
    No matter what you think about the area, its worth a visit.

    Interesting, thanks! Just one thing: Finland is the happiest country by the UN Happiness Index, for the 4th year in the row already :) Denmark was toppin the index before that and still among the top countries, like all the Nordic countries.

    • @JackieEm
      @JackieEm  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That’s awesome! Thanks for letting me know:) I actually did some research on Finland as well and wow I love Finland and how the country is run! Was talking to some Finns in some previous videos as well and I can see why they are the happiest country!

    • @muhest
      @muhest 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I blame their happiness on their annual alcohol intake. 😂🥴😂

    • @mikrokupu
      @mikrokupu 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@muhest It looks the alcohol consumption per head is not the answer here. In that case the Brits, Germans, French should be happier than Finns and other Nordics 😉 Not to talk about the Eastern Europe.

    Hi Jackie. Politicians (in Denmark) are actually talking about either not allowing Internationals to study here in the future, or lowering the number. Apparently we give an education, but get noting back 😒. Most international students go back to there countries, after graduation. Denmark is left with the bill and high taxes (yeah, I know a lot of you work and pay taxes, but it doesn't cover your education and healthcare here, for the few years your here). DK gets nothing in return. Dear Jackie 😊 ! I'm not judging! Just saying what the politicians and a lot of us feel. BTW! Your always welcomed back, either as at tourist or an employee 👍😊👍 !

    • @JackieEm
      @JackieEm  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Wow didn’t realize that! Thanks for sharing what really happens!! Hopefully we can give something back in return for the future!

    • @KHValby
      @KHValby 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Take it easy 😊. One thing is what some politicians want, an other is what is possible. Denmark still has to follow EU law. So we can't shut out EU students. The entire idea may have been shut down, since I haven't heard more about it lately. So apparently it's not a priority.

    • @veronicajensen7690
      @veronicajensen7690 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@KHValby the Politicians are going after certain educations only, where nobody really stay and work after the end of their study, everything will never be shut down because its agreements among countries, but they are reducing the spots on a few educations, to reduce the amount of people getting students loans the don't pay back (SU) like Bacleor in in Optometry -so this is about EU and EØS students who can get SU

    • @KHValby
      @KHValby 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@veronicajensen7690 My original post is about a year old. I tried to make the statement, that our Politicians had "pulled back", since having foreign students, cost us more, than we get back. Yeah! A lot of them don't get the same benefits.., but at the same time.., there contribution is somewhat limited! They leave as soon as they graduate, and we're stuck with most of the "bill". They get at Free or cheaper education.., and we get nothing (basically) in return. Apart from a lot them working in the service sector, while there here (doing great jobs, paying taxes 👍), we still loose on the deal! We help educate Internationals, and they thank us, by leaving, as soon as they can find the opportunity 😔 ! Not Cool !

    • @KHValby
      @KHValby 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      And if you wonder why some Danes are becoming more and more "anti-EU"" ? This could be a reason 😀 ! I wish you a good week 😎 !

    Thank you so much Jackie for the insight. Kindly answer me please. I want to find out if you deposited your proof of funds in a block account in Denmark or it was just your personal bank account you used. and for what duration, I mean, is it is a month or 2 months bank statement? I'll appreciate your response. Thank you

      Easiest is to open an account, All banks here in Denmark are online with all services including statement following the account on a daily basis within seconds. Very easy to use.
