It's sad that he didn't get any royalty from the songs he wrote & sang in the 60's. It wasn't until 1972 when those artists started receiving royalty for their songs. We love him even when he had to sing while sitting down and with an oxygen tank. Rest in peace. We will always remember the song 'Give me a little sign girl.'
Ive seen some people saddened at this performance. I personally enjoy this level of dedication. He was a real artist. Died as he lived. Nothing would stop him.
For those who are wondering about his health: He had C0VID in January 2024; that’s what caused the rapid decline. Look at the videos of him from November 2023 (he was standing/moving around the stage, lots of energy no oxygen) compared to February 2024. A good reminder to try to protect ourselves and one another - and especially our elders. TH-cam won’t let me post the link, but there are TikTok videos from fans talking about it when the January concert was canceled.
He’s in his 80’s I did not know until I looked him up 🥲 I love oldies grew up to them and I’ve always wanted to see him and I’m coming to Bakersfield May 10th as well 💙 Glad he’s retiring although I know he loves to perform 🙏🏻
