- 1981 C10 Project....Instrument Cluster Rebuild
In this video Ill show you the basics when redoing your cluster for the 73-87 trucks, Blazers and Suburbans. I used a Testors Model paint for the needles and a Rust-o-leum Chrome for the cluster housing.

Excellent video brother. 👍🏻
Looks like new. Great work!
i guess I'm quite randomly asking but does anybody know of a good place to watch newly released tv shows online?
@Briar Ashton i watch on Flixzone. You can find it by googling :)
Great video.. My next steps hopefully
Nice work
Damn even your buzzer works.
First mod get rid of tge buzzer
Great video, thanks. 2 quick questions: You mentioned keeping some of the incandescent lights - is there a reason you didn't go all led? Is there a way to know which direction the leds plug in without the trial and error? If I even look at my cluster the wrong way, Im afraid it will turn to powder. The less I have to handle it the better. Thank you!
Where do i get my hands on new gauges?
Hi do you take orders for repair? Got a new alternator put into my 1976 chevy p20 (it’s an rv but the chasis is just a p20) and now the gages on the instrument cluster spins wildly.
I used the needle paint to repaint the gear selector needle to match the gauge needles.
Where did you buy this gauge kit
Hi where can we buy those gauge , i’m from France , and ger the same gaufe problem with coolant .. thanks
I got my replacements at ClassicParts.com and LMCtruck.com
@@1980LSK5 thanks man
Hey random question, I’m doing the same fuel system as you did on your blazer. I need the male end part pigtail from fuel pump to engine bay. Would you happen to have part#?
Thanks
Good information sir. Thanks. Where did you get the small bottle of Orange paint?
Do you have any extra speedodmitor gauge for sale?
I live in sunshine, heatwave Arizona and I had to buy a new clear lens cover for my 79 C30 crewcab dually.
What I'm worried about is trying to clean the dirt and dust off of the actual guage faces. The sun took its toll on them. I'm afraid that the paint will smear all over. Do you have any idea or suggestions for me to try?
Thanks.
Oh, yours turned out great. Looks real nice.
I don’t recommend wiping the actual gauge faces. Get some computer duster and blow them off, not compressed air from the compressor because it will blow moisture on them. Wiping them will wipe the print right off. I made that mistake on another set. Hope that helps bud!
@@1980LSK5 how did you fix the ground on the oil gauge
What did painting the back chrome do for it?
Puckett Remodeling & Construction it will increase the reflection and allow a little more light from the backlight bulbs. Seemed to work decently. Could go with white or chrome and either would work well.
Do you part out any of those extra clusters you have?
I haven’t at the moment. I’ve just been storing them.
@@1980LSK5 Well do you know of anyone that makes reproduction Choke/4 Wheel Drive and Seatbelt/Brake lamp lenses? I'm pretty much building a new cluster from the ground up for my 85 C30, and figure I may as well as put new ones of them lenses in it too along with everything else.
I’m not sure if anyone makes reproduction lenses for those.
@@1980LSK5 😆 I don't know why when they've got everything else for a square body as reproduction.
I painted my housing gloss White. Today is the first run with lights to see how it looks after dark. I may have damaged my circuit board as my inside turn indicators don't work now and they did before.
Check your connection where your turn signal switch connects with the harness. Mine did the same thing. Was just the connection was a tad loose.
Nice video! I just recently got a k5 and the temp gauge and oil pressure gauge is not working so I'm going to replace with new. I'm going to do pretty much what you did. I have one question where did you get your LED light bulbs? Looks great! Any advice help's.
Almost looks like 921’s.
How's the K5 build going?
But how do you take it out without breaking it?
What happened to you? I hope you and your family are ok. You and a few other TH-cam inspired me to start my channel and wished you were on here for me to help promote.
I’m still here!! I’ve been making some slow progress on the K5 and I’ve been able to get further along in the last couple of months. I have slowed down on video but still have content to edit and add. I appreciate your support!!
@@1980LSK5 just glad you are ok... content will come.
Soon as i looked at the temp gauge needle it snapped!🙄🙄
