Hello Lily! I am so glad to see you in the State Forest. When you turned off Crab Creek road at Holly Springs Baptist Church, the first settlers on the right hand side of the road at Shoal Falls....literally opposite the falls, were Rhodes'. Jacob Rhodes lived there. Joseph Rhodes lived there and was married to a daughter of William Merrill. Some of Uncle Joe Rhodes' sons were Elmer, Jesse, Lloyd, Henry, and Void. The first two women doctors in NC came from this line. Jesse lived there. His sons were Leon, Willard, Darrell, and Albert. The last three were Baptist ministers. Oh, I forgot Robert who had a son in Edneyville who recently passed. I think Robert's son was married to a Simpson. Henry also had a Willard. Do you know who he was? I enjoy you so much. Keep riding those horses! You are a beautiful young lady. Jesse had a son Buford. His daughter was Miss Hendersonville. Thank you and your papa.
I love when you complimented the other rider on her sitting trot. That's the way to be, always lifting others up and being supportive, helping build confidence, trust, faith. These are great qualities for a good instructor and trail mate. Good sportship does not mean one has to be competitive nor combative.
Happy Independence day to you and your family 🎊🎉🎈💥🇺🇲! Beautiful ear of corn Derek🔥. Try a sugar sweet pea , no shucking just sweet pods. You can eat the whole thingq
Happy 4th of July everyone! Lily you are So Good with Blaze! Your trail ride with your Dad and Gideon looked so relaxing! Why didn't Blaze want to drink at the stream?
Fun day Lily!! :) Well done & I'm glad you got to hang out with your friends in the pony club. I thought you'd like to check out this blog about a horse trainer in Ireland who loves to take her horse on a 3 day ride cross country every year. :) She and her husband run a horse camp for children with special needs as well. Here is her link to a trail ride playlist of her adventures: th-cam.com/video/qucOdalVY9g/w-d-xo.html the name of her youtube channel is Way Out West with Sandra and Tim. :) enjoy!
I have watched afew of your lessons with Blaze. And when you had a bit of trouble getting him out of an extended trot I wondered. Is it possible he is broke to harness and was a cart pony? As a young girl I had a pony who was trained to both. She really didn't like being in harness but was willing to put up with it. She preferred being ridden.
I love your attention to grooming cheers
Blaze's coat is shinier than a brand-new penny. You are a good horsewoman and owner for him.
Dirt is good for coat health and skin in the long run
These types of rides are such a TREAT for these kids. Thank you for sharing Lily.
