- Well this was fun (doing the bass tracks was actually the most fun, since I haven’t fully mastered Alex’s technique, but thought I’d keep it finger style and give it a go anyways). This is in no particular order (although Scourge of Iron would be the heaviest if I was ranking), I’m just playing them album by album throughout the years. 35 years since the demo and I’m getting to see them in September, so this is kind of my hype phase. I wanted to do a big tribute to them like this anyways, so here are the heaviest moments from this band.
Wanted to include at least one from every album (2 from some) and it was actually pretty hard deciding some (some deep cuts like Five Nails through the Neck and Blunt force Castration to give them a bit of attention)
Guitar used: Solar V1.7 FRC in A# standard/G# standard with digitech (10-49+70 D’addario XLs)
Bass used: Squire Precision 5 string in A# standard/G# standard with digitech
Pick used: Tortex Sharp 1.35mm
Recording used: Focusrite Scarlett solo through GarageBand then edited in Splice
Covered With Sores gets me everytime. So damn good
@@Spelunky-e2f especially heavy for early 90s death metal
Great list and choices! I also love the "gallopp" riffs from Hung and Bled, Innard Decay , other contenders for godly riffs: The spine splitter, dormant bodies bursting, when death replaces life, Infinite mysery, skull fragment armor, encased in concrete and firestorm vengeance
@@dexourius I’ll have to do some of the more underrated songs list somepoint. Hung and bled is a personal favourite of mine. Infinite Misery was actually very close to being on this list
fuck yeah this kicks ass
@@lupis6713 thanks man, I just try and bring the best selections of riffs that I can. I’ll try and do more lists soon.
Glad you mentioned Drain You Empty, shit's underrated, i agree with most song you chose
here's what i would add/change for specific albums;
- Tomb of the Mutilated - Addicted to Vaginal Skin, or that one riff from Post-Mortal Ejaculation
- Vile - Disfigured or Monolith
- Bloodthirst - Unleashing the Bloodthirsty, Pounded Into Dust
- The Wretched Spawn - Decency Defied
- Evisceration Plague - Cauldron of Hate or fucking To Decompose. one of their best breakdown in my opinion
- Torture - Caged...Contorted
- Skeletal Domain - Icepick Lobotomy
@@zareptil5441 trying to think of multiple per album sometimes was really hard. Those are some good picks. Torture’s were fairly easy picks for me, although there are a lot of great heavy riffs (Scourge of Iron was absolutely no doubt though). One of my favourites is the bridge section in Hideous Ichor
Perfect choice, Man!
@@IVECEIDE Some of the decisions were easy picks, others were a bit harder to pick (like Gallery of Suicide and Gore Obsessed)
Fuck yeah! Sick tone!
I also get my heaviest sickest tones when in my PJ's.
@@MrJeezus is comfy too 😂
We need the fastest and the catchiest
@@PrivateBroGamer ooo that’s actually quite a good idea
Nice job bro. Love the choices. 100% agree. Maybe I can try and do a follow up on some more. Like: Devoured by Vermin 'breakdown' part, Maniacal first bit, Murder worship 'breakdown' etc.. So many good parts. What sim you using for your tone? I've been running the Wavemind Rev F plugin boosted with either my Keeley Metalzone, Maxon ST9 Pro, or for digital I use the Mercuriall 'Metal Area' plugin for the middle era tone. Lastly the TwoNotes Erik Rutan cab pack for that Mesa and Marshall cab they used on a bunch of albums.
@@thet740 believe it or not, it’s all run through GarageBand (edited in Splice later, but that’s how I get my tones
