And I left school with the exact same attendance as you same thing happened in year 10 too and I didn’t even attend school in year 9, we both had things in the way but no ones to say they aren’t both as important as one another - there’s different reasons for everything and my situation couldn’t be solved in a space of a few months as it carries on in my life as of the moment but I’m glad you got the grades you did

I thought I'd never even go back to school again... I was literally contemplating taking my own life during the 6 week I didn't leave the house but some how I gathered all the courage I had left to go back in after the Easter half term, caught up on months worth of photography, geography and health care coursework as well as all the missed work from my other lessons. I would even stay after school until 6pm just giving it everything i had so that I knew I did the best i could with my situation, I could have easily allowed my self to fail and just resit the exams I needed in college but I didn't because I believed in myself. Now I don't know you or you're struggles but I still feel like this attitude you have in your video that other people in hard situation might be watching and following is just damaging and encourages you to give up when something is hard? Y is there so much negativity. I only passed 2 gcses and here I am now on my last year of a levels about to go to uni. Grades dont define you. You can get anywhere without them.
here's a question: if your makeup course doesn't work out, or you can't get a stable job, or you lose interest ... what do you have to fall back on? or live off of your parents. I know you've probably gotten a lot of hate on this video (which is understandable to a certain degree), but I'm genuinely curious.
I’ll continue to work for everything I want I have no family to fall back on hence why I want to make a difference with everything and people in my everyday life ask me allll the time what’re you doing for this and that and how’re you getting to it and they’re genuinely shocked by how I plan on doing the things I want to because I think about a lot of things before doing them so I know what I need to do to get my goals - grades do not mean anything to me, to others yes but like I said I applaud anyone that did well in their GCSEs but there’s ways for everything x

Everyone needs to chill... not everyone cares about school, not everyone thinks school is the most important thing ever, not everyone is academically talented. Maybe to you she has a ‘trash’ attitude but you know what who cares. Grades don’t define you and grades aren’t everything. To be successful you don’t have to get good grades. Stop taking life so seriously and have fun Grades aren’t as important as you think, teachers push you to get ‘amazing’ grades to just leave you with as many open doors as possible in the future but you don’t actually need them if you know what you want out of life.. You need to do well enough to get onto the next stage and that’s what she did
I know GCSEs don’t mean much but I see them as a way to practice good work ethic, study habits etc. for things that actually matter like a levels and uni
Wow, things have really changed since I was in school. It seems more harder nowadays. A friend of mine didn’t do well at school and she’s a qualified makeup artist now, she left school and went to college for 2 years studying beauty and she works for Estée Lauder, so if she can do it so can you.
I get that you didn't need the results as you were already in a course. But you may as well try otherwise you've kind off just wasted 5 years of school. It's not a great attitude to have. Also only 2% of the population get a 9.

If you get a 4/3 in combined science you passed but only barely. You don’t have to retake science as it’s not maths or English but could be important depending on what you want to do in the future x

no, it's not. it's roughly 2% - 5%. It's *roughly* 20% of people who get a 7+ that are awarded a 9.
it depends its 2-5% for each subject but because people take more then one the percent of students getting at least 1 grade 9 is probably 10 - 15%
its not 20% you moron lmao. this is why you did shit.
no. its 2-3% based on the subject. its never 10-15. thats absurd. you dont know what you're on about mate

Elysha Edwards lol idk maybe she should of at least tried so she could have a backup idea lmao
@@emilybradley4054 she's at college she'll have plenty of back up ideas, the course she's doing can be used for many different career choices, school didn't give her the same opportunity in fact it gave her considerably less. Evies known what she wants for a long long time now and she hasn't given up on it, regardless of what she's been through. she may not of cared as much as people think she should have with her GCSEs but she cares a ridiculous amount about her future and she's doing very well for a 16 year old. were made to go to school, it isn't for everyone, you should research some of your favourite celebrities, you'll be shocked to find out just how many didn't have a 'proper' education but that hasn't affected them.

Alicia Anderson she got a 3,4 for double science. That means she got a 3 and a 4. Only two grades. They can’t be tied to the individual sciences because the grade is given on the overall mark
those a trash, I’m just saying
And she says it was easy 😂
Katie x I have my GCSEs next year and this is motivating me to work hard lol
THANK YOU SO MUCH
She says English language is easy and she got a 3!!!!!! Kill me now 😂😂
M M it does make sense they make the papers easy so it’s harder to pass.
sirine van-dijk how does making a paper easier make it harder to pass
Pipcairns they give you easy questions with less marks so you have to get more right to pass.
I’m in year 8 and I’m working at a 3- in English
Lol
@@pipcairns3265 Becuase if everyone can get the marks easy they would have to raise the grade boundaries. It works the other way round too. If an exam is extremely difficult they would lower the grade boundaries to make it easier for people to pass but it all depends on the average marks everyone gets in the UK
I seriously don't understand why your so chill about your grades if I were u I'd be crying my eyes out and be thinking about ways to tell my mom
I literally phoned my mum up telling her how gassed I was that I passed 2 exams and all of my teachers were proud of me because of situations that had been happening in my life and the fact that I was very rarely in school... but you wouldn’t have known that because you just watched one video and assumed
Whilst you may react in that way, not everyone is like you. School isn’t everyone’s forte. We are all good at different things, and expect the best for ourselves in different things. x

Do you not feel that you should have worked harder because the gcse's are the basis and most important examinations. Not to be rude but for a few months you could have gone without doing makeup and acrylics just to revise a some more so that if your plans don't work out you'll have your grades as back up. My science class was a bloody nightmare, we missed out whole chunks of the syllabus, had 6 'physics teachers' in two years because they kept being shit and getting fired, had to lie about all the experiments we had(n't) done in class, and I had to teach myself 90% of the physics and chem. No idea how I did decent, but beyond annoyed that I was never going to be able to as well as I could have if the school had sorted their shit out.

good luck to you with your college course and your future but i really do think you should have tried. if it doesn’t work out for you, you’ll have nothing to fall back on. you’ll need to revise and work hard on your college course too, revising for your exams would have helped you. would’ve only taken a few months of revision and more time spent on coursework you would’ve passed everything and had nothing to worry about
Y’all are meannn. Like she had the courage to make those video and post it to the internet being happy with her grades. So what if her grades aren’t high? If she knows that she doesn’t want to do something that has to do with maths/English/science/geography/art/photography it wouldn’t make sense for her to revise so much and miss opportunities to revise when it won’t benefit her. Y’all should think that she had the courage to post this video and y’all be hating on her because her grades aren’t high. What benefit would ur unsupportive comment make on her? It would just lower her self esteem and mental health so just think before u say stuff because u never know the damage it can do.

Really I just worked consistently all the way through ks4 - revised hard for all subject tests so I had the notes and it wasn’t such a big task to prepare for the real exams!
Don't understand why everyone is kicking off in the comment section about this girls grades. Just because the way she's living her life is different to the way you want to live yours, it doesn't give you the right to judge, and at the end of the day GCSEs aren't the end of the world. Life goes on.

She can’t even get a McDonald’s job with those grades LOL
here's a question: if your makeup course doesn't work out, or you can't get a stable job, or you lose interest ... what do you have to fall back on? or live off of your parents. I know you've probably gotten a lot of hate on this video (which is understandable to a certain degree), but I'm genuinely curious.
I’ll continue to work for everything I want I have no family to fall back on hence why I want to make a difference with everything and people in my everyday life ask me allll the time what’re you doing for this and that and how’re you getting to it and they’re genuinely shocked by how I plan on doing the things I want to because I think about a lot of things before doing them so I know what I need to do to get my goals - grades do not mean anything to me, to others yes but like I said I applaud anyone that did well in their GCSEs but there’s ways for everything x

she didnt even try
But that's the point. She didn't try.
If she got crap grades and tried then that's great but it's her attitude that's gonna put her in a bad place
I agree she tried and that’s all what matters
Everyone needs to chill... not everyone cares about school, not everyone thinks school is the most important thing ever, not everyone is academically talented.
Maybe to you she has a ‘trash’ attitude but you know what who cares. Grades don’t define you and grades aren’t everything. To be successful you don’t have to get good grades. Stop taking life so seriously and have fun
Grades aren’t as important as you think, teachers push you to get ‘amazing’ grades to just leave you with as many open doors as possible in the future but you don’t actually need them if you know what you want out of life..
You need to do well enough to get onto the next stage and that’s what she did
One day you will be sat in a shop like Asda on a till wishing you actually tried in your GCSE’s
I know GCSEs don’t mean much but I see them as a way to practice good work ethic, study habits etc. for things that actually matter like a levels and uni
Umm do you realise your still need your GCSEs to get a good job.....
When I was in school in 2004, the grading was from A to F, has it all changed to number grading now? I worked hard in school and got grade A’s and C’s
Yupppp 1 is the lowest and equivalent to an F I think and a 9 is an A* c
Wow, things have really changed since I was in school. It seems more harder nowadays. A friend of mine didn’t do well at school and she’s a qualified makeup artist now, she left school and went to college for 2 years studying beauty and she works for Estée Lauder, so if she can do it so can you.
I get that you didn't need the results as you were already in a course. But you may as well try otherwise you've kind off just wasted 5 years of school. It's not a great attitude to have. Also only 2% of the population get a 9.
