I know this is an old video but I've just started Y11 and am soo stressed, constantly having panic attacks and crying everyday at the slightest things. I am expected to apply to a couple of prestigious colleges but I don't see the point, I won't get in anywhere. I feel like the stereotype of a burnt out 'gifted kid' and just feel like I am letting everybody who ever believed in me down. Seeing your maturity, and quiet confidence here was so refreshing; you carry yourself so well and with such natural charm. I've only just discovered your channel and I hope you're doing well, I certainly hope I can reach a point of clarity with myself.
I did gcses the same time as her. And I can tell you that these exams are important but all you can do is try your best. The contents of the exams ie. The topics that come up are out of your control and so my advice would be to prioritise revision but don't burn yourself out. There are different ways in which you can manage anxiety and panic attacks. A good way to calm down immediately is to use an ice pack on the skin that helps. Or practice box breathing in for 3 out for 3 and repeat that. Hope this helps you x
@@laura-lk8yr hii, I'm just as stressed now as exams are nearing but it's so weird looking at my comment now that I received two maximum academic scholarships at two private schools. I've signed a contract with one and now all I need to do is get my grades (because the offer was based on entrance exams and interviews). It's mental looking back now. Also I am quite overwhelmed but am just hoping all goes well, will definitely update after I'm done with exams. Thank you for the advice :)
@@ScriptWither hey, I'm at that private sixth form now, on maximum academic scholarship actually. I managed to somehow get grades 99999 888888 (although I was very much depressed about my lit grade, my 2nd favourite subject) and it was such a relief since I had so many suicidal breakdowns throughout exam season and almost missed exams. Now just focusing on supercurriculars at sixth form and enjoying my Alevels: History, English Lit and politics.
I hope college works well for you, I had to retake my A-levels and now I'm at Uni doing Electronic and Communication Engineering. Passed my first year at Uni with 80% average. I didn't do particularly well at GCSE either, which shows things can improve so long as you are willing to work hard! All the best for the future.
I thought SATS were bad, i revise so much and got in crap sets, these mean nothing aslong as you get an unconditional offer from a uni. Dw these arent that bad.
People need to realise that everyone learns at a different pace. Don't be so quick to judge. I know some real smart people but on paper it's completely different and some real dopey people yet somehow on paper it's good? Looking back I wasn't academically bright but I did great creatively. I know some people who didn't finish school/get any qualifications but through doing particular courses or from just general work/life experience managed to go uni and get high paid jobs. It isn't the end, it's just the beginning. Heck there's millionaires who haven't got any education. So don't worry. School isn't easy.
Im going into my GCSEs soon.. I start year 11 tomorrow and i am in a brand new school because of bullying last year in my old one.. Gay hate abuse to cut it short.. My new school has gotten rid of the 3 out of the 4 that i have been studying so i am starting brand new courses and i am sure im gonna fail.. i have less than 1 year to complete and pass 4 that i dont know what to do. I say 4 because everyone has finished their coursework in art and i havent even started. I am fucking crying while writing this and shaking so badly.. I am so scared. I have been offered an apprenticeship instead of collage and i will be paid for it if this all backfires at least i know what i can do. But i am 15, I feel like I am too young and am not ready.. My only subject is English that i think i can do ish, but i dont know i am so scared. Im so sorry for wasting everyone who reads this time. I know i am gonna end up a nobody..

My results: science 6/5, English 5, maths 5, geography 5, history 5, r.e 4, English literautre 3, business D, computer science 2. Very annoyed about science as I wanted 6/6. And highly annoyed about business and computer science. Overall, I am very happy.
The 6/5 potentially means I cannot do biology at a level. But, hopefully, my sixth form will recognise my overall consistency and my ambition for science.
Exams results are important but they aren't something to cry over. GCSEs get you into 6th form/college. Pass grades are A star to an E, but you are aiming to gain UCAS points for uni, so while an E is the lowest passing grade, you get some UCAS points. Try your hardest and you'll get to where you want to be. But I know a couple people who went straight into work after GCSEs rather than go into further education and higher education
You're so lucky that you can be calm with these grades, of course you worked hard and I would also try to be calm, but with our Chinese parents getting below a 7/A or sometimes an A* in math/science/English/Chinese(us Chinese people have to take it because of our parents) is a crime. If we were to get below that we're basically dead. I have my IGCSE's in 2 years so right now our grading system at school is like that, and so far in the past two years I've managed to not drop below the standards.
Heyyy dw now ur hopefully doing well a piece of paper dont define u as a person and wont affect u cause u can still go college and get better it was my last day today i was crying but unno it happens nothing will be the same but hopefully on results day i get the grades i want but if i dont i just have to do well in college
People are gonna say: "oh Well, u tried your best..." what these people don't realise is that there are so many external aspects that affect performance such as happiness, a friend circle, family life and situation... Just to name a few... oh Ye and sleep and good diet too... this want her best I think she could have done better... anyways good luck in November retake!

Flex Colleges accept a lot of ppl with extremely bad grades. For sixth form you need a minimum of 6 GCSEs including at least a grade 7 and grade 6. That’s what my sixth form requires anyways 👌🏽
I got similar grades to you, I cried so much because I put so much effort but I'm doing foundation year and so many people are in my school are too, it's fine, we need to work hard in the next few years. x
I think you should become a motivational speaker. Many kids today worry about their potential results. I'm in Year 11 and I will be getting my mock results back next week for every single subject. I'm not that nervous, but what you said in this video, in my opinion, was inspirational and if more kids knew about the options if they don't succeed, it could help shape a better working society for everyone. Also, how have the resits gone for English and Maths? I hope you did well.

And now I’m at a college studying business. I know it might not feel right now but it will pan out xx
honestly so good to come from videos of ppl complaining about getting 8s to this bc i’m prolly gonna fail so badly and this makes me feel so much better lol
Don't worry its all luck. I only passed 3 for my mock but passed 8 for my actual GCSE'S all you need is to just forget about it and focus on the retakes. I thought I failed every subject apart from FT so as I said before its all luck and these results don't show how smart you are.
How are you doing now? I have watched this video many times and I did my GCSEs in 2019 with me just getting a 6 in Maths, 6 in RS, B in Finance, 4-3 in Combined Science and a 3 below in the other 4 subjects. I have just realised how lucky I am. Try your best
I’m doing good thank you. Ah that’s great, well done you! I’m doing a course at college that I’m enjoying. Just remember you are more than just a grade on a piece of paper :)

@@wistfulwriterthingy12 you're welcome. And that's really good
How did you go
@@ScriptWither hey, I'm at that private sixth form now, on maximum academic scholarship actually.
Don't worry Hun you did great honestly some people fake there results you were honest genuine to yourself with a good attitude xoxo x
Ah thank you xx
Don't lie to her. Get 2s and 3s isn't great I know your being nice and genuine having bad grades isn't the end of the world
I hope college works well for you, I had to retake my A-levels and now I'm at Uni doing Electronic and Communication Engineering.
Passed my first year at Uni with 80% average.
I didn't do particularly well at GCSE either, which shows things can improve so long as you are willing to work hard!
All the best for the future.
James Knight thank you so much! Good luck to you too!
I failed both Maths and English, did them at college for a year, Failed Maths again, but got a 5 (C+) string in English language, so went up 2 grades.
Ah well done you!
Thank you for your kind words 😊

My summer has ended and tomorrow when i wake up im in school and i feel like i know nothing about science like its so difficult for me and my maths is shit. My only subject is English that i think i can do ish, but i dont know i am so scared. Im so sorry for wasting everyone who reads this time. I know i am gonna end up a nobody..
Oh no, I’m so sorry you have had to go through that. I know how you feel as for moving schools during the school year but I hope it goes okay for you this year, I believe in you believe in yourself and you will do great things. "really hard" i mean most people who put in at least 1 minute of revision can pass the subjects a minimum of a 4 grade boundaries were SO LOW this year
Some people have different learning needs and I did try my hardest...
I failed everything/ but I hacked the it system and changed all my grades to 5 and 6s. Then worked hard for a levels got 2 A's and a B
I failed my GCSEs retook them- best thing that ever happened to me. I had to do media to fill in one a GCSE. I did media at GCSE A-level and now at Goldsmiths- I now work in the J.P Morgan media centre!
As you've done A-Level, did you get extra years at college because of your resits?
It's a real shame you couldn't have reached a 4 for English Language instead, it's an important one.

Kawaii Girl how did you revise science?
@@lucasholland2699 Honestly by using flashcards mainly. I went through each textbook and made a flashcard or two for each page and labelled then by topic. I then spent the next 2 months learning them all by heart but I learnt all the topics that would be on the first papers before the other topics. Then like a few days before I typed out a summary of all the required practicals and I learnt each description of by heart. This was mainly because I missed a lot of science lessons with practical wkrk in year 10. Honestly I did not practice tests apart from one for biology which I didn't even do properly . regardless of what u have u should be proud of yourself, as long as u tried ur best that's all that matters
lemme you something...
although rn I am sitting my GCSEs and I know I am not the girl to achieve the grade 9-6... I am more of the grade 5-3 person... and having SO much pressure to memorise such a huge mass of content for one grade is so selfish!!
many of yous have heard the saying of "grades don't define you" and u r so tired of hearing it before the exam that when ur results come out... it is a complete different saying..
it has literally come to the point where us, as teenagers who go through the hormonal process, that has been heightened during the stress, have either cried ourselves to sleep or have just given up!! common admit it... u aint the happiest person in the world!!
and coming out with a bad result is not the end of the world... maybe to ur mom lol x
but there are so many opportunities available out there... apprenticeship; some may be thnkin "what? apprenticeship??" but trust it is more in demand now as managers of huge companies are looking for people who have experience …
DO U SEE?? not much knowledge is needed now a days to have a job... it is experience....
so next time u feel low … have hope, give it ur best in exams even if u were predicted a 3-1 in ur mocks... don't let that prediction come true... turn it into a false alarm!!!
love u guys and remember to stay happy

Honesty Becca don’t worry. Everyone is smart in their own way and has their own skills and talents. I’m sure u will pass visual arts with flying colours at the end of college. Remember, you are better than some numbers and letters on a bit of paper!! Xx

Omg same I thought I was the only one
Exams results are important but they aren't something to cry over. GCSEs get you into 6th form/college. Pass grades are A star to an E, but you are aiming to gain UCAS points for uni, so while an E is the lowest passing grade, you get some UCAS points. Try your hardest and you'll get to where you want to be. But I know a couple people who went straight into work after GCSEs rather than go into further education and higher education
What was the maths paper out of xx
All 3 of them out of 80 you needed about 120 marks for a C In foundation

How do you get into college, I thought you needed like 5 GCSE’s??
Flex I needed 5 GCSE’s to get into 6th form
Flex Colleges accept a lot of ppl with extremely bad grades. For sixth form you need a minimum of 6 GCSEs including at least a grade 7 and grade 6. That’s what my sixth form requires anyways 👌🏽
My college only accepts people with at least 5 GCSEs but each subject for alevel has grade requirements like you need an A/7 for sciences.
