I found their auto email process on DQ step is buggy. You can use ASKNVC the public inquiry form to send an inquiry. NVC will clarify the doc status. Recently the turnaround of inquiry is about 1-5 days which is quite reasonable.

You can ask NVC to clarify which document is still outstanding using the public inquiry form. They no longer accept phone calls which could be much more helpful.

If Tax return doc shows accepted, it means NVC documentarily qualified the document. When they do, they usually emailed you stating that they qualified the docs. Was it possible the email requesting for additional doc was not sent after your resubmission which can cause confusion. Anyway, you bring the tax return doc to interview. Consulate has the final say.

How many years of 1040 and the supporting forms such as 1099 or w2 (if applicable) did you submit? They asked about all of the forms as how I read it. You can upload all the tax forms especially 1040, for the recent 3 years. That would likely satisfy the needs.
If they did not have such large backlog, you would have got an interview appointment this year. According to recent data, hope you will receive the interview letter sometime 2024-2025.
