Hi all .well decided to go through roof .so right now my duravent double wall twist lock pipe ,an is going though wall . say if it’s 7’ to my cathedral ceiling that’s a 5/12 pitch,an the pipe comes in 12”,24”,36” an 5’ pipe .if the twist pipe comes say 3” or say 10” short of the box what do you do ?. Is there a collar that excepts the twist lock pipe that sits in the box ? It also can go either way to short to Long depending on height of stove ..I’m sort of confused on where they meet at box or does the pipe just go through the roof as one. An you slip on a clamp in box an extend 3’ or 4’ from roof with cap ?
Per instructions, the ceiling support box must protrude down from the ceiling a minimum of 2 inches. Is there a maximum? I have 2''x6'' ceiling joists. My question is, What is the minimum required distance for the top of the ceiling support box above the ceiling joists? I have a valley above my ceiling opening and then I must use a 30-degree offset elbow to get the pipe turned away from the valley and then up towards the ridge. Help, please.
Hi, Tim. Thank you for your question! There is no maximum on how much the ceiling support box can hang down, but the mininum distance up into the attic is determined by roof height and insulation depth in your home. The ceiling support box can be trimmed above the joists, as described in the DuraPlus installation manual. It is available online at duravent.com/installation-instructions/
I've got an interesting question about a pellet stove venting option. The wall that the stove will be placed is not a outside wall and going up and out is not an option. That location would put the exhaust pipe in the middle of an upstairs hallway. So is it possible to go up approximately 7 ft then take a 90 degree turn that would need at least a 9 ft run to reach an outside wall ?
Thank you for your inquiry! Your question on run lengths and elbows needs to be answered by the manufacturer of the appliance you are using. Each appliance is unique and the manufacturer's proprietary testing data would have to be used to determine the appropriate answer for your specific installation.
I've got this kit what it the part number for the chimney pipe that goes with this kit. Inner diameter of box opening is 6 inches and outer diameter is 10 inches all the pipes on home Depot say diameter 6 inches and product width 6 inches. I'm just not sure what one to buy.
Hi, Dakota. Thank you for your question. You did not specify the kit in question, however it appears you may be looking at the DuraPlus family based on the inner/outer dimensions you provided. Pipe sections are available in multiple lengths, but the most common size is 6" x 36" - that part number is 6DP-36 or 6DP-36SS (depending if you require or are using the stainless steel version).
Hi, James The answer depends on what Duravent double-wall product you are referring to. - DVL close clearance pipe in the conditioned space from the stove to the Ceiling Support Box? YES - Double wall chimney such as DuraTech? NO - This particular kit is specifically designed to work with DuraPlus Triple-Wall chimney from kit to cap. We hope this helps! There is no adapter for connecting the stove pipe to the stove. If you have a 6" flue, then 6" DVL will drop right down on top of it. The manual says that if the INNER sleeve of the DVL is just a bit too big, to crimp it so it slips on. Mine slipped right on with the DVL. Hope you get it worked out.
@@mfletcher2829 Thanks I ended up buying a 6'' DVL Adapter (No Damper style) part number "6DVL-AD" stovetop adapter its a little more snug of a fit than using the DVL pipe directly on the stove top for my Drolet 1800 stove. Thanks Fletch.
Technically yes it can be however the process is complex and differs with the style of the metal roof. We usually suggest a Dead Soft Aluminum Flashing that is not offered in this particular kit.
Great job Brian. I am having our store personnel watch these videos. Excellent tool.

Sorry .also is it say 3” up to box then changes to 6” .basically if pipe is to short or to long from box or collar you just cut the pipe ?
can you put the box right against combustable material?

If i have dura vent telescoping pipe, do i need an adapter to connect to this particular chimney kit?
It is included in this kit. He mentions it briefly here. Everything was super simple.
I used the telescoping DVL with this kit.
@@mfletcher2829 Thank you
They told me, if you use telescoping pipe, you didn't need adapter, pipe comes with a ring.
